Can we please cut it out with this idiocy?

The lag is Bnet-based. It's Blizzard's Lag. It's the server lag. IT'S NOT THE GODDAMN ISP ALREADY.

Funny, in 2 years of playing D2 & LOD, the only lag I ever remember was when bosses would die and I would miss the loot. Im Know every once in a great while I would get de-synced, and when I realized it I would just quick exit (I played mostly HC after realizing how pointless SC was), but I dont ever remember it being a regular thing, especially in private games with my friends.

Oh, and if people want quality servers and quality support, your going to be paying for it. Get used to it. Customer service is great in WoW compared to many ggames, its in their interest to keep their customers satisfied. Whenever costs(prices) go down, the first thing thats seems to go with it iis customer service.

I cant believe, and am quite impressed truthfully, that blizzard still pays for WC, SC, and D2 servers to operate when those games havent delivered any real revenue in years. Can anyone tell me if they run banner adds or something to offest the costs? Or mabey the addiction known as WoW is the reason our servers are still up. However Blizz is paying, you have to admit that they do spend some coin running those servers to keep all us old-school gamers satisified.

posted a message on Update on WOTLK
The instances not being ready is nothing, all they need is the content done for the leveling and they can finish the instances later. Unless your talking about low level dungeons not being ready, in that case they will be balanced pretty quickly once the beta opens up. I feel sad that my account is not active to be eligible to beta WotLK, I was in WoW and BC betas, and almost enjoyed it more than playing the game, other than the fact I realized I would have to do it all over again, 4 times for my characters, lol.

look at all the rebalancing that was done to Kara, Gruul, and SSC once players actually got there en mass. you could argure that none of that content was truly "ready" when BC went live.

Quest, explorer, and quest some more. Enjoy the game and its richness. If you try to power level your first character, you will get burned out fast. You will get to 70 soon enough.

I wish I had all of my old links and guides for the fastest leveling. some of them were downright amazing for getting through the more tedious levels. you can probably google WoW (Alliance/Whored) leveling guide and find a bunch of guides.

posted a message on Do you really think WOW is that great?
WoW was alot of fun. I started my addiction during christmas of 05 after being an original beta tester. (The game didnt feel complete to me, and it was going live)

Anyways, I got on a newly formed server, so everything was even across all the players. I got into a guild that eventually became a raiding guild around lvl 55ish. We had lots of sucesses, while not being the server first on alot, we did lead the alliance progress once we got into Naxx. (MC/BWL/AQ to Emps on weekly farm status) 9 bosses into it BC came out, and pretty much ruined the game for us.
Kara as a 10 man split the guild, and the alliance server population was only about 250 players strong. Breaking point came when we trying to down Magtheridon for the thirs time, and we had people leave the raid becasue they wanted to do Serpentshire Caverns instead. We pretty much dissolved. People who still wanted to play went to more populated servers, and from what I hear, they were doing amazing, leading DPS/Heal meters their first days there.

But WoW is raiding once you have all the normal dungons done. Raiding requires a daily commitment. PvP was/is an afterthought, and true serious PvP is even almost as big a commitment as raiding, you just need less people.
As for how I finally left, I had to go for an internship for a month over the summer. I didnt want to server transfer and start a new guild that I knew I couldn't commit to, so I didnt do anything. When I came back, I only logged in one other time to show somone else my characters. My account expired, and I walked away cold turkey.
Of course it is WoW and my characters are still there, and if WotLK is anything like BC, all those great epics people spent countless hours to get will be replaced by blues and greens before they hit lvl 75. Who knows, I might go back as a casual to experence the scenerey, but ill never be a raider again.

Was WoW a great game? Yea, it is. Everyone should at least try the 10-day trial. Just be warned that despite the graphics( i personally love them), the game is incredibly addicting, and you have to have restraint, or exceptional time management skills (and an extreemly accepting wife ;)) to be able to play and have a life outside of the game.

I dont know if mine was the gold edition, but I bought D2 & LOD in one box, and it was all on CD's.

Where are you buying it from? THey should be able to tell you if its CD's or DVD's.

I wonder if thats changed. I'm nearly 100% certain I got a drop from Diablo. It was a unique armor. I'm gonna have to dig up my original 1.0 CD, install it and beat the game in SP mode.

posted a message on I can't get on B.Net, but my wife can?!
My guess would be to reinstall the game and see what happens. Are you using the same CD for both installations, or each install using diffrent CD's? Are the CD's both different versions?

Ill be following this thread. I have 2 copies on two seperate computers, but I can never get them both into the same game. It allways says the latencey is too high.

well, looks like I just needed a bit more patience. Downed diablo at 26. lots of resets though. no real way to keep range on him, so I just had to go toe2toe.

Which leaves me with a question, Diablo didnt drop anything. Is this just on B.net? Because I remember the first time I beat the game in SP, Diablo had like 2 unique drops when I killed him.

im on us-east :( its amazing how hard it is. Im lvl 25 and getting whooped up on. worst part is I cant hit half the mobs becasue they are mooving way too much, so im forced to go toe2toe. it takes a full inv of health pots to clear a level.

Wow, I never remembered D1 being so difficult. Im playing on battle.net as a rogue. im level 24 and just getting whipped by the mobs on levels 13 & 14. I'm havng alot of problems keeping range, and even if im 1 on 1 i can only kill 2-3 mobs before I have to use a full health pot.

SoJ only became currency because it was rare as all hell, but a buttload were duped early in the game. think of it like RL gold. sure more is found, but not in any quantity to affect the global supply total.

posted a message on Keep The D2 Drop System
I foresee a big WoW influence when it comes to rare/unique/epic(yes, there are purplz) items in D3. I wouldn't be surprised when someone goes to grab that unique that a gamble box shows up, or a need/greed system like WoW. People may not like it, but then at least you wont have your ranged players stop doing dmg so they can run up to the boss before it dies so they at least have a chance at the loot.

How many characters will be allowed per account?

Will there be a limit to the number of accounts a single CD Key can create?

We all love hoarding goodies, will there be any way to facilitate muleing items, or will it be up to players to come up with their own methods?

Will there be a common chest for a character, or even a chest across an entire account?
