Being able to Toggle/Hostile at one's will with no 3 step safety restraints made PvP feel more fluent though. If PvP wasnt so popular in Diablo 2, I think they would have brushed PvP off to the side.

Blizzard can't be normal and implement a handy system in which we can view what server certain players are on with their names displayed, what act their in, and what level they are and chose your group based on that. Unheard of. I'm going to take a guess that there will be no Kick/Ban option ?

I don't like Episodic installments of games, such as, Sam and Max and Half Life 2. It just drags the series on to long and feels like your getting portion sized games whether the price is to high or alright. There will be less variety due to being limited to one campaign every x amount of months, unless someone waited for all three installments to release and bought them all separately or in a future battle chest. Didn't Dawn of War release like 31 installments.

Oh I'll buy the game alright, but I won't be going online if they charge monthly for a service that should be free, if a game needs to be patched " fixed ", it's their problem they need to deal with. Games should not ship incomplete and buggy in the first place. I'm sure they don't need pocket change to fund patching either.

I can understand why a company like Flag Ship Studios known for their failure " Hellgate:London" needed to charge a subscription for " luxuries " to fund patches and new additions since they were a new company with little revenue along with one game release, but online server storage was still free with atleast three large multiplayer servers ran simultaneously along with numerous full fledged patches.

Hopefully those features they are talking about is just things like realm change, name change, sex change, maybe respec Nothing major and nothing month by month. I hope to god.

And minor things like those are worth paying monthly for ?

Those features should be absolutely free, I can't even believe those features are considered as luxuries.

Can't believe they make millions a month yet they have to do senseless things like that. Well, the american dollar continues to get hampered. I didn't think Blizzard would go that far honestly, but they did, how sad. Nothing but greedy wenches now. So, will this be the case for Diablo 3 Battle.net ? No way in hell will I pay to go online, steam is free and they update daily and they don't even make millions a month.

Guess the Blizzard-Activision acquisition was a bad one to say the least.

What Blizzard is doing is moving Diablo to a more WoW oriented style, to make transition of their 9 million playerbase easier and facilitate sales. In much the same way as a PC game will be dumbed down in development due to the console market (i.e. Oblivion), Diablo is being streamlined for the WoW market. Which is why if you look at the Wizard skill tree for example, it reads almost like the skill descriptions of the WoW Mage. Blizzard probably thought they were being clever in naming the class Wizard, to throw off people's claims that they are basically copying WoW's concept.

And what makes Blizzard think it takes gluing WoW's art style and features to Diablo 3. I think the only reason Diablo 3 looks like WoW in certain aspects is because Blizzard has been saturated in WoW the past few years, so unless they hire a completely new team to work on Diablo 3, some aspects of Diablo 3 will look similar to WoW's art especially since the head director of WoW is a lead in Diablo 3's production. It's not very hard to create something original though. If what you say is true, then Blizzard basically believes people's brains are set to WoW and noting else. If I play Resident Evil for example, I Do Not want to see similar features and art style in Silent Hill. Two similar genres but enterirely different franchises.

If I was a hardcore WoW fan, loved it, played it 12 hours a day, and thought it was the best game. I'd still want an entirely different game from Blizzard that didn't have anything related to WoW in it. I think Diablo 3 shares similarities to WoW due to them being built on the same engine and Blizzard's last few years of exposure to WoW's features up until now.

They chose the art direction they wanted to use, they chose the graphics they did in order to run efficiently on the broadest range of PC's which has nothing to do with dumbed down graphics on a console. By the time Diablo 3 releases, there will probably be several graphical tweaks, upgrades, additions, art style tweaks and changes, and a highly customizable graphics menu. Blizzards focus is PC first, so this will be a PC port to consoles, so I don't think menu/GUI quality should be a problem..atleast I hope not.

I don't like the direction of Diablo 3

You do realize that Blizzard's focus has been on WoW the past several years up unitl now; as a result, we will see similar innovative features used in WoW in Diablo 3. Blizzard threw out the old inventory system of Diablo 1 and 2. Hellgate London was criticized for it's horrible tetris style inventory system in which seems to be what your describing, unless there were automatic organization buttons to chose from in Diablo 1 and 2.

The majority of developers that made Diablo 1 and 2 are not working on Diablo 3, I believe a lot of the developers that worked on WoW are helping out with Diablo 3, so it's obvious the way Diablo 3 is turning out and I dont think it's neccesarily bad although I wish I saw more actual demons instead of frogs and blobs.

I think respec is great, I don't get why people think it's fun to mess up on skill points and as a result start a charcter over for " replayability ". There are around 4 classes and if you want to make a run through with each class on multiple difficulties, that's enough replayability for me, I don't need to worry about all the crap regarding skill point distribution.
Hopefully fan boys wont freak out and throw riots because there are respec which often happens.

I'm guessing by the time Diablo 3 releases the graphics will be enhanced or upgraded along with certain features to toggle on or off depending on the resorces your PC has. Diablo 3 is probably in an early build still, who knows. The environments might not look amazing in graphical detail, but the gore, physics, and player/creature animations are pretty good, which is probably more important considering it's a hack n slash. Hack n Slashes don't always have the most detailed environments, in fact, most Hack N Slashes have really bland environments, so Diablo 3 looks great when compared to others. Titan Quest did pretty good though as far as night/day cycle with detailed environments goes. Titan Quest had no randomization at all though except item drops.

Diablo 3 might not have graphically superior environments, but it has detail alright, plus the ability to interact with the environment is a first, for example, knocking a large stone slab off of a cliff and killing several hostiles.

I want to see a class with a full set of sleek shining silver armor, no skin showing, no rags blowing in the wind.

On a side note: That would be great to see real time reflections off of armor.

This was the first screenshot posted on the chat panel on the front page. Blizzard really changed the lighting and hues, no more blue and green. Is it just this particular dungeon now or all of them ? I would not mind variety in dungeon hues either.

Here is what I hope they do right guys, scale the creatures and difficulty level correctly, let me type that again, scale the creatures and difficulty level correctly for the number of players that are on a server.

Blizzard is basically adapting to what Titan Quest used for its multiplayer, every time a new player joined a server in Titan Quest, the difficulty automatically adjusted, only problem is that, even on the highest difficulty on top of the max of 6 players on the server at its highest adjusted difficulty, the game was a breeze when people fought together, the only time it was hard was when you went solo on a maxed out high level server.

I hope Blizzard really makes the game fun and challenging for groups that want to fight in packs together, not a cake walk like Titan Quest was, which made it very boring. I'd rather go on single player honestly, and enjoy killing everything myself rather than have some kid running around with his high level gear hacking everything away like he is some amazing force in the game but rather an annoyance.

On a side note: What ? The characters you create expire if you don't use them over a certain period of time ? That's not good at all, what if you take a long break then an expansion comes out for high level content and the character you have been saving for the expansion has been expired. So anyways, how long did you have in Diablo 2 without playing until your character/s were expired ?
