Jul 13, 2008Kilvoctu posted a message on Diablo III Thoughts From Ex-Blizzard EmployeeI swear, like half of these posters are just complaining about floating numbers, a feature in which we have barely any information on yet (why so much whining as if it was a sure thing that the numbers cannot be toggled). I really don't want to read through the same crap over and over from different users. Does anyone even read the thread to know what they've said has been stated dozens of times already? Add something new to the conversation, please. And stop acting like you all are masters at game design. From what I gather, it seems like you all just want to play Diablo 2 again with a graphics upgrade. What would be the point of years of development to release the same game with a makeover. Do you guys want Blizzard to be more like EA (by the way, I know they typically take less than a year to release sequels)?Posted in: News

Words are important, Didn't your English teacher tell you that?Quote from "DerMetzgermeister" »Dude chill it is a word, he can say loot drops booty treasure or whatever he wants. He's not insulting you by saying it so i think you should waste less time wasting our time. Anyhow i think the system will be interesting and fun...worse case scenario i simply go back to playing D2 if the game is really that bad(which would require a conscious effort on Blizz' behalf imo)
And if you're really a Diablo fans, the worst-case scenario would most logically be 'you'll get used to the system'. Besides, Blizzard won't screw up. It's impossible. -

I did not really like the graphics/colours too much but I wasnt that mad, but when I saw the before and after screenshots that diehard fans have created, I realised how much better this game could be. It made me kind of angry too, about the whole WoW feeling. http://www.petitiononline.com/d3art/petition.html
I looked at these screenshots. The only one that I thought was a real improvement was the first photobucket link (http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l318/frostwake/Diablo32.jpg). Everything else was too gray, or too dark to see anything.
Like this one:

I can barely even see anything in this one. How do I play a game where everything is a black blob in a black-gray-ish blob environment? I don't understand why one would think next-gen graphics should only be dark brown, dark gray, and loads of black, all with excessive film grain (like in one of those "improved" screenshots (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7807/itshouldrh5.jpg)? Please, I don't want my eyes to start hurting watching those sort of graphics.
Zombie Wall was all I needed to see in order to completely forget about the Necro.Quote from "GrandRobot" »i personally think the witch doctor is going to be way more bad ass then the necro. dont cry gothic boy, you need more eyeliner? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Stuff like this is why I lurk more than participate in forums. Everyone wants to be a comedian.

I didn't threaten to kill you or anything (thanks for calling me a Nazi...-_-). I just politely corrected you, and it'd be appreciated if y'all didn't overreact like prepubescent children.

Also, "through" not "threw". At least, in the context you were using.

I'm not sure what you mean here. I'm pretty sure they said the real money auction house will not be in the beta, thus there's no incentive to spend money on it before the game's released.

I was reading this and I can't help but point out, that statement did not refute Don's point. You essentially created a straw man argument.
In any case, I'm one of the ones who voted 'love it' on the new skill system. Main reason: It's been 10 years since D2 and I'm not the 14-yr old back then who had nothing but time on hand. I am going to enjoy having one uber Monk who can be any build, since I don't have time to level up a few different Monk builds. This is just more fun for me, personally. I don't want to make any comment on the longevity of the game due to this change; we'll just have to see how it goes.
Thanks for reminding me. That was an implication that I found really exciting when I read the interview.

I could use your own ridiculous logic, too. Yeah, every big gaming company hypes their new releases by unveiling information about the game as it approaches the street date. Blizzard does this, too! Why should we congratulate them putting up new information and resources for their game every so often? Every big name company does this! So why should these things make it into the news posts?! The news threads should only be things that are rarely done by gaming companies, so I don't need to see all these new pictures, interviews, gameplay videos, or the like. That sort of thing has been done. Sigh...
Honestly, you needn't be so...nitpicky and uptight that every post you make in this thread is to state this illogical distaste for a fankit that you've deemed insignificant for unreasonable and arbitrary reasons.
It's kind of irritating that you are so incredibly critical about Blizzard providing the fans with a gift. Even more irritation that this criticism croms from such a silly reason.

What he said was common knowledge for any Steam user. Even I know that, and I don't do much more than play their games. Also, most of what he said was factual, not opinion, so that lame comeback there doesn't work too well for your side of the arguments, if one can even call it that. The only opinion was when he claimed you to be dumb.
Valve may make different genres of games than Blizzard, but what I believe waddlez was thinking about when he said they were superior is their skills in game design and receptiveness to their community. This is the reason for the claim that if Valve went to produce MMOs, RTS, and RPGs that they would achieve the same success and critical acclaim that they do with their current products. I'd love to elaborate on this, but I can get pretty long-winded (which I am somewhat already), so I'll spare you.
In an attempt to stay on-topic with the thread, I'll say that I like achievements. I had to click the link to see what they were talking about with the WoW achievements and their apparent "unfairness". Well, those are achievements for ya. I'm a completionist, but one with some common sense and rationality. I mean, some of those WoW achievements were really something, as in, they showed that the player did something out of the ordinary. I love the system in Steam, as well, but I hate what the more superficial completionists do with it. I'm talking about those "achievement servers" the losers go to when they lack the skills to legitimitely attain them. I'm hoping D3 won't really have these problems, but then again, with achievements comes people like said losers who completely have no comprehension of what an achievement is supposed to be.
Ahhh, I'm just upset that my brother completely invalidated my honorable Pyro by entering one of these servers and making everything (records and achievements) complete BS. Now I'm getting off-topic again...
