Uh the skill tree is called spears and javalins...thats 2 weapons for one entire skill tree. If you don't push characters into certain weapons by limiting their skills then every character is the same right? Isn't that the point of different classes? Amazon is the ranged weapon class. You are lucky they gave a few melee options. But I guess since they gave barb a few ranged options they had to do it.

You are splitting hairs, it's a javelin skill tree. If you read the description for each skill, a large number are for javelins only, and the rest are for javelins and spears. There are no skills specifically for spears that exclude javelins. Either way, barbarians didn't have an entire skill tree devoted to a single weapon. In fact, they only have one or two skills total for ranged weapons!

The point of classes is for unique things, but the amazons already had an entire skill tree of ten skills devoted to bows and crossbows, devoting another set of useless skills to a secondary ranged weapon of dubious design was a waste of time and hard drive space. It was as if no creative energy had been put into the class whatsoever (don't get me started on the lack of innovation behind their passive skill tree).

Obviously i'm in it for post count instead of trying to rid the world of idiotic threads.
"OMG, that one guy IS POSTING A REPLY TO MAKE A POINT, lets all disregard his point and instead focus on the method he is making his point, namely via a post. POST COUNT WHORE POST COUNT WHORE!!!" > Makes sense.

Such a holy crusade you've taken on, flamebaiting in threads you don't like. Tens of millions of threads are posted daily online, I hope your social calendar will afford you the time. Though the suggestion that you had any kind of point to your post other than spam-ridden flaming is hysterical.

If you don't like the thread, just because you haven't the cognitive skill to engage in civil discourse doesn't mean you have the authority to spam it with your mindless flames. Surely, since you disagree so whole-heartedly with the intent of this thread, I shall not see your name in it again.

    Cheers,

I'm a druid, I use Firestorm, Fissure, Armageddon, Cyclone Armor, Summon Grizzly, and Summon Oak Sage.

For Barbarian you have Cry Barbs, Conc Barbs, Berzerker Barbs, WW Barbs, and weapons of variation. This goes on with each class.

I think the point he was trying to make was that most characters will only have one or two spells per build, not that there aren't more than one type of build per class.

Yay for threads, i'm gonna make one around amulets, seriously, AMULETS? Horrible things, just me saying "horrible things" is enough of a reason and argument to not ever have them appear in Diablo again. YAY for threads.

Congratulations on the increased post count, clearly you needed the extra point. It really made a whole lot of sense for you and the guy above you to bump a thread you think shouldn't be there.

I really don't understand why the hatred and fear of sexuality in this thread. I thought the youth of today were becoming more liberal and open about things like that.

Here's a thought -- have the gorgeous semi-nude characters for those who actually enjoy it, and the ones who don't can do something novel, like... I don't know, not stare. If the demon boobs bother you that much, get stronger and kill them faster.

They won't need to charge subscription fees. They'll make more than enough money off of hackers and bots they ban who must purchase many copies throughout the years to keep their internet businesses flourishing. Think about it.

Umm... no. If you really need to see boobies, why look at computer-generated ones? Am I strange in that I find it somewhat sick? Honestly, just go look at porn if you are truly that horny.

posted a message on I can't get on B.Net, but my wife can?!
Downloaded the patch, and it was not working, which drove me insane because I couldn't even delete it. Turns out, the download never completed and I had to download some third party program to remove the file (couldn't even delete it manually in safe mode!). I downloaded it another time without interruption, and the patch actually worked that time.

Now, the NEW problem is that we are both able to run Diablo successfully, but as Chaod_Sac said, we cannot join each others' games. We're both running on a broadband LAN connection, this doesn't make any freaking sense whatsoever! If anyone has any input as to why this is, we'd love to hear it because we cannot play Diablo II together (her LOD CD is missing, but we still have the jewel case + CD key *grrr*), so it'd be nice if we could at least play one of the games together. If not, we'll have to go back to EverQuest, and I rreeeaaallllllllllllllllyyy don't want to do that...

posted a message on Destruction's End Revisited
I must say, I thought this was bar-none the greatest cinematic end to a video game yet. A great event, a powerful angel and epic music, all intertwined perfectly. Will Diablo 3 have an ending that lives up to this? I sincerely hope they put at least as much effort into its ending as they did with D2's ending. However, I find that they have their work cut out for them on this! To even match Destruction's End in awesomeness would be an impressive feat, to surpass it? Nigh impossible, really.

Perhaps I'm the only one that thinks this way.

    Cheers,

    Quote from "Kenelm" »
As I already said in another thread about the artwork video disappearance, D3 website seems to have been rushed, and they lacked a lot of time to polish things. When it was first put online, there were a lot of graphical and alignment problems on multiple browsers, and most of the content was changed.

The artwork video was removed, a lot of text seems to have changed, the background music for Tristram and the Cathedral was changed... No wonder why they keep changing things, but I don't think it has anything to do with some people finding about Imperius.

I second this. The site was very incomplete, felt almost as though it was splashed together in a few hours the night before WWI. They are simply refining things as time goes by. Chances are, they aren't actually changing anything, just realizing that certain texts didn't convey the correct mental imagery and decided to alter the wording.

The ESRB issues not just ratings, but content advisory, which was basically what was sought in the first place. Note that I used the word "advisory". I think it is ridiculous that anyone old enough (basically 14-16 years and older) to be influenced sexually by Mother Nature (who seems to defy all laws of the land regarding teenagers and sex) to have to have their parents permission to purchase a game. I can understand real pornography, but give it a rest on the games.

The ESRB was established in the mid nineties. It really wasn't sexual content that caused the parental obsessive-compulsion for ratings. It was extreme violence and really cool graphics that depicted things like a PC jerking the head off its adversary and having part of the spinal cord hanging from the neck while blood dripped to the floor. It was a game called Mortal Kombat. It was in the arcades for a period of time before it made it to the home console. At that point, parents were fainting all over the place. I remember that one well. It might still be the most controversial game ever released.

Before paying the insane amount of money to purchase a game, I always had the boys rent a copy to make sure it was what they really wanted. After watching the boys play for a while, I just could not understand why everyone was so up in arms. I'll bet more than half those kids watched the movie The Thing with Kurt Russell, and with their parents' blessings to boot.

By the way... if you guys get naked female demons, does that mean us girls can have male demons with a stallion's phallus and testes the size of coconuts - naked and detailed to the very last vein? Or do you think your numbers alone should keep the homophobics placated?

I agreed with every last thing you said... up until the end. Breasts != genitalia, and all the women making this ridiculous comparison do not assist your case in getting men represented in an appealing way, because it caricaturizes your stance in a way that deflates it of all credibility.

That said, I'm totally down with a Secret Bewb Level.

Do you mean a demoness and a succubus? A demonic threesome... that's hot stuff (forgive the pun). My wife and I agreed that the sorceress, amazon and assassin woulda made a very interesting "side-quest" all their own. :D
