Considering the bunny people probably won't care much
if the game is dark or not since they said they are going to buy it in any case
it would be the right Desicion to totally scrap the game
and rework it.
If Blizzard is a good company and listens to its' customers
then they will change the art direction.
If they are greedy assholes who want short term
profit at the expense of long term reputation
then they will release the game as is and
tarnish their reputation in the eyes of 50, 000
vocal oppositioners as well as countless others,
who feel similiar yet didn't sign the petition for one reason
or another but feel the same way.
I find it ironic that I specifically asked for people
to ignore consolized gameplay and some of the features,
as well as different camera angle which isn't hard to implement
and yet the main reasons listed by people for why the
game doesn't look like Diable are those precise
elements that I told people to ignore.
the creature design is uninspiring and lacks character.
the skeletal warlord looked like from diablo 1, armor looks more like in Diablo

The textures are not better
yes they are, just look at diablo 3 at the same zoom level
they aren't even better than wow.
It has normal maps and and D3 doesn't
and the shadows are way better.
The game feels more realistic.

and the game you've shown doesn't have beautiful shaders that D3 does with its attack effects.
and "beatufiul shaders" with attack effects
are the part of Diablo franchise, right? Oh wait...
In fact they don't even make sense,
looks like it's the only effect they know how to do so
they stick it everwhere like useless water on the floor...
like why would a water even be there?

Saying that Diablo 3 lacks gore implies you probably have a bias on how it looks. The decapitation and the corpse explosion physics in D3 have more and better looking gore than does KuF, with its silly single-colored flat blood splatters.
I didn't say Diablo 3 lacks gore per se.
It has that cartoony pixels dots that comes out
when cartoony monster bite off cartoony head
from guy. I couldn't even tell it was a head,
or a piece of upper torso
because everything looks like a bunch of
squares, I was later told so.
I think that gore sucks in both games, but
you miss the point because the post wasn't
about it.
In case of Blizzard, they got enough cash from WoW
so they aren't strapped for cash and they have
Starcraft 2 coming up soon too, so they shouldn't
be in any rush before unveiling Diablo 3 and
I don't understand why wouldn't they take their time
to show case their new game from the best side?
Judging from their website they put alot of effort
into the presentation of this game, and tried to show
case the game to maximize the appeal to the potential
target market.
So, I am afraid your theory of Blizzard showing the worse
part of the game just doesn't hold up, because
Blizzard is not forced to rush the presentation, and
are in the position to take advantage of huge cash
and no pressing deadlines and as such it simply wouldn't
make sense.
And just by looking at the game graphically, it's just
miles behind KuF. Mind you KuF is released for the
crap box 360 which uses outdated 7800GTX series card,
and mesely 256 megabytes of RAM. Worse than most
mid - range PC's of today.
so it's not even that advanced graphics, just design
decisions and clever usage of light normal maps and
excellent armor design. And not trying to pinch a few
polygons and make fingers look square and hair like a
solit piece of triangles, and adhering to the
"Oversized shoulderpads with spikes" design theory of WoW.
After Diablo 2 I played WoW alot
and procceeded to raid heavily, so
I was expecting the dosage of realistic
dark gory fantasy from the next installment
of Diablo franchise, as a change from WoW's caroonishness.
So, you must understand, I don't want just "any" Diablo 3.
WoW keeps me entertained for now.
If Diablo 3 expects me to give up WoW for it
it has to offer something drastically different in
terms of athmosphere, graphics, and overall "feel" of the game.
I'm constantly looking at pictures, movies, Youtube,
and various sources trying to "picture" in my head
what Diablo franchise should be.
I told you in my first post that "the gameplay looks very consolized"
So that means that I don't like it, because I hate consoles.
So just ignore the gameplay, and also ignore the console "splatter"
which Diablo 3 does have, and I already said I don't like it
in my previous posts when we were talking about God of War.
However, putting the gameplay and "console features" like
"mandatory anime guy in trenchcoat" and ps2 style hair aside,
the graphics, design of monsters, textures, lighting, armor, weaps,
environments is what I am referring to.
You are probably just thinking it because of the different camera angle
It only takes a couple lines of code to make "Diablo" perspective (just fix camera)
Ironically, even though the game play is very "consolised"
but graphics - wise I find this game much more Diabl - esque
In fact, more so than the Actual Diablo 3, which decidedly
toook a low - poly cartoony crap approach.
Actually your wrong because he said I just logged on my friends account to make screenshots, and these prove that I didn't just log in because I made screenshots BEFORE the sorc ever reached 88 and got Full tals.
Here's proof 2 screenshots, notice how Hardcore sorc that I showed having top gear
is levels 75 and 76 respectively. And having crap gear, not full Tal's yet,
which disproves your theory about me making screens of my friends' account.
The screens are all from 2004 when I stopped playing Diablo 2 and moved
on to WoW.
I noticed how finding a bow "of the bear" makes the game a breeze, when your playing a rouge, however when you try with a bow that doesn't have knock back effect it really makes the game 100% harder.
Anyone notice this?
I really hope that the petition is going to Cause Blizzard director
to call the lead designer who made the decision into his office and say:
"You guys screwed up."
If this happens, then in my opinion the petition has succeeded.
I'm not going to kick the proverbial dead squirrel again and explain why the graphics are wrong.
I'm just going to say this:
People cannot be told what to like or not like.
And 47 thousand (althouth the actual number is debatable)
people tell their resounding "Do Not Want" to Blizzard.
And that means something.
There always will be people who settle for less and happy with whatever they get,
but all of us who signed the petition, we don't want to be told what to like by anyone.
We know what we want, and that is Diablo sequel that stays true to original.
All those who want colorful Diablo or fail to notice differences, I respect them,
as they are entitled to have their opinion, I, however, along with 47 thousand other people,
reserve my right to respectfully disagree.
P.S.
I think that the guy who started the petition was a real hero:
because a lot of people just looked at the game and thought:
"Meh, this looks crappy but, who cares, if Blizzard decided it, then it must be right",
but thanks to the petition they can see that 47 thousand people also think that it's wrong,
they now start to think "Hey, wait a minute, it's not just me who thinks that this is wrong"
and now we know that we are right.
P.S.S.
Trying to post on WoW Diablo 3 forum is pretty much useless,
as it is filled with 14 year old Blizzard fanboys, who claim to cancel their WoW accounts
the minute Diablo 3 is released, and will flame anyone who will bring as much as ounce of criticism
and not be a dumb admirer of Diablo 3.
