I think the number of unique items and set items were just right in Diablo II. And there can't be that much unique items because well...they are uniques and therefore more rare, it would take the feeling away of having a unique item if everyone is dressed from head to toe with uniques all over the place.
whats the use of barbarian set items when playing assassin? actually, the more i play, im sure that game actually checks my character and gives me "wrong" set items ON PURPOSE. nonsence.
I disagree, Diablo is not simple, it's user friendly and easy to get into. Mario Bros is simple . Well saying Diablo is simple is over-simplifying it, i mean theres alot of stuff going on than we actually notice, but because the gameplay made easy, we tend to think it's a simple game. Besides this is a forum for us to discuss about ideas, so if Diablo is so simple, then we won't need this forum do we? if the game is simple, why is it taking Blizzard so damn long to finish it? come on already, i want the game now!
I played Elder Scrolls, i'd rather read a real scroll than play that game, ugh! its just damn boring, the D&N in that game is nothing new too,we've seen a lot of this in other games as well, but it's just that (if) it's implemented in Diablo, theres more the devs could experiment with. Well they do have weather in D2 lol.

yup Alien Vs Predator is scary,love that game, but the question of either Diablo is scary or not, does it matter? Diablo is not Resident Evil or some thriller genre, it's action rpg. hmm now im thinking of Alan Wake. anyways, well, we do have Witch Dr to use scare skill, thats scary enough i think rofl.
Of course, behind the scenes, no game is simple. Try creating Tetris, and you see how many details is there. But the goal is simple. Kill em all.
And the means to achieve that goal are simple: couple of magics or faithfull sword, and some nice armor. No talking, no persueding, no lock picking. Kick damn barrel! That traping thing they will implement in D3 is unnecessarry. "inteligent traps",huh! just gimme two-handed sword!
It is obviously very hard to create good slaughter, since we are waiting 7 years for worth sequel... Dungeon Siege 1&2 is good, but it gets boring. Sacred is bad, Silverfall is rediciolus.
Actually we think D2 is so good that Blizzard cant make better game without our help. We think we know better than creators of the game...
guys, guys. this game is supposed to be SIMPLE. if you have enough money - and game will provide it - you will buy enough potions and teleporter scrolls and eventually you will kill anything you see. that's all.
if you want player & quest change depending of time of day (!!!) and stuff like that, go buy yourself Elder Scrolls.
this game is ONLY about SLAUGHTER. And that's why we love it.
So be practical, if you ask for something, ask for encreasing chance of getting set & unique items...
and one more thing. Alien vs Predator is scary. Diablo was never scary. So if you dont want color, decrease gamma...
Well, i don wat to start again discussion about cons and pros of diablo 2 save feature. I would just like to say that we who played diablo 1 & 2 are now mostly married and with kids. I am playing Diablo 2 right now and what happens? kid needs to be fed every 3 hours. so, if i feed him, and put him to sleep, i have max 2 hours to play - and in that time i have to play, reach next waypoint, and enjoy it. it is too complicated.
so, for us old fans - return "save me where i am" feature - so we could enjoy our game!
i am big diablo fan, back in the epic days of long loading of levels.
now i am proud father of 2 months old (young?) kid, waiting for third diablo. wish to have time to play it, though...
