Oh no we don't we can't skip entire floors because there's no more fishing for that 'super dense' spot on one of the maps? Good.

Aneij posted a message on how about friends trading?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionAm I the only one who find it fun to find items my friends need while they are offline and then send a picture of it to them... then making a soul of it
Or maybe just keeping it and dropping it in front of them casually ^^
I agree with so many here. Trading would only bring more problems to the game, then it would fix. I remember back when AH was a think, most of my time playing was from using the AH, and not slaying monsters. It was just way more beneficial just buying cheap and selling expensive, then to actually play the game. And this is what some of you guys want back!?

Bagstone posted a message on how about friends trading?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionLet me picture this:
Many of my friends (on my f-list since day 1 since we played together since the 90s) haven't played Season 8. Now imagine I invite them to S8, and play with them. Since I have no use for many of my gear anymore after doing Years of War/Masters of the Universe, I can just give them a ton of great loot, including well-rolled ancient items. They log in, get powerleveled to 70, get fully equipped and can faceroll Torment 11+. 15 minutes are logging in. They have all the gear, no need for Haedrig's Gift, no intention to do the Season Journey (otherwise they would've played before) - so what are they playing for?
Diablo is a loot-based game. If you give your friends all the loot, you're removing the sole purpose for them to play. (Unless they're the one in a million who like to grind paragon).
And of course the illegal 3rd party websites will find a way to exploit this as well, as others have mentioned. Thankfully, trading is not coming back. And it's good that way. You want loot? Slay monsters. That's it. There's no shortcut to get it from your friends. You want to give your loot to your friends? Well, group with them. Otherwise it's good that you can't give it to them; you'd lessen their game experience.
I know that people like trading, but please think about it: as good as it sounds, it's just bad in so many ways from every single perspective. I'd love to see the 2 hour window being extended to 5 or 10 (or at least for as long as you're in a game with someone), but beyond that - please no trading. It made D3 a better game.

Bagstone posted a message on Area DamagePosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
It's never a waste, and there's no cap. Here's a thread that explains area damage.Quote from TIMMYREXILLA»
If I go over 100% Area damage, is that a waste? Does it cap at 100%? or does it just keep increasing the damage?
Or you can just read what it says: area damage is a 20% change of dealing X% damage to all mobs in a certain area. The 20% chance is always 20%, but the X% is your area damage. Even if you have 250% area damage - which sounds like a lot - your main target will overall still get damaged more than the "area damage target". Yes, it gets hit for a huge blow of 250%, but only 20% of the time. For a more detailed and nuanced explanation just follow the link. In general the answer simply is: there's no cap, and more is better. Note though that obviously more area damage also means you want to avoid any areas of non-density - it's really only advisable for pushing and if you have a skill (or a friend) to pull stuff together.
You're not. I've mentioned it here as well, and many others have pointed out that removing area damage would address many problems. For those who cry out loud: Area damage is only really an efficient stuff for pushing rifts, and if you stack a lot of it. But once you get there, you'll encounter lag and a lot of frustration because of "not enough density". No area damage would make the game much more fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Not true, see above. Combined - if you have 5 or more monsters around you - it might be correct that those 5+ monsters combined take more damage. But your statement can easily be misread, so make sure you understand how area damage works. Having 120% area damage and fighting 3 mobs, for example, your statement is absolutely wrong.
Hell no. Crushing Blow is terrible and "breaks" the game. We've seen this with Furnace/Rimeheart before they were fixed. CB is so OP that basically any speed runner in D2 needs to get it (unless you're sorc and have static) to kill stuff in reasonable time. It's the reason why Necromancers mass-revive big golems. CB sounds cool, but as soon as the game moves beyond just casually slaying monsters that die in 3-5 hits, CB is a broken game mechanic. We've been there, done that. Not coming back.

horrax1 posted a message on Blizzcon 2016 - How should it be...Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI played D2 alot, probably even more than D3.
If you're really honest D2 was never ever produced for PvP. The PvP in D2 is barely anything more than the brawling in D3.
It's funny how people for years on end think that D2 PvP is any real content. There are some builds that work for PvP only, but hell what is PvP in D2 if there weren't organized tournaments and things like that?
Nothing. In fact the same could in theory be in D3 brawling...
Time has changed and while not everyone will understand my opinion on D2 PvP it's definately outdated (like D3 brawling was in the first place).
And your last comment was absolutely not necessary. I think you know that so I won't respond to that any further...

horrax1 posted a message on Blizzcon 2016 - How should it be...Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionDiablo is no PvP game. Even Diablo 2 wasn't. I really dunno what people are thinking what PvP should look like in D3.
To copy WoW with PvP gear is also not really the solution. Go play WoW if you want that kind of PvP.
However Teams that battle for time in a scripted Greater Rift is certainly possible and would be a nice addition to the game.
But sadly we have to wait another year or more before we get something like that in D3. The development process is really kinda slow. I also wish we could get content faster as we get it right now

Aneij posted a message on Diablo 3 - PTR 2.4.3 Leaderboard and Builds (online)Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIt's PTR, you have to realize that most ppl will want to try the new item. And from the look at the site, WD is not the top class, both crusader and monk are above them. Even after logging into PTR looking what you're saying about 10gr above is so not true.
Current standing on PTR:
#1 Crusader GR101 (LoN bombardment)
#2 Monk GR100 (Rainment Gen)
#3 Witch Doctor GR98 (LoN Spirit Barrage)
#4 Wizard GR97 (Firebird Archon)
#5 Demon Hunter GR95 (LoN Fok)
#6 Barbarian GR92 (LoN Thorn)
So there is no class with 10gr difference, the difference between barb and crusader (not wd) is 9gr. And this might be different once it goes live, there is far from the same amount of ppl playing and pushing on PTR then on live. -

inkcheese posted a message on Future Character PacksPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI believe the "packs" are the future of the game until the next iteration of the franchise comes. They're moving out of the large expansions market and going the way of the dlc, something similar to the SC2 Nova missions. I expect no more large "buy a box" expansions, but i'm not ruling out the small possibility of one.
I expect the Druid to be the next pack, or possibly an Act 6 Skovos pack.

TheFuuZ posted a message on Future Character PacksPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI like the idea of having all the followers around me, buffing me a bit more. What if they would introduce a new follower? What if there would be more specific items for followers themselves. There is a need for offhand items for followers. Like a unique quiver for the scoundrel?
I really like this idea.
With the character Packs: Yes I do believe they will make more, even Map Packs or whole Acts to buy, and after a while they will announce the Ultimate Pack for Diablo 3 where you can buy all at once in one big Pack with extras in it.

BuckKnife907 posted a message on D1 Remake is LegitPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionHey dude, it's too bad your super chapped about the D1 dungeon. All I was saying is that it did bring back some nostalgia from the old days for me and that is cool. I would just put a bunch of Gold Bond on your rash and mellow out man

If you talk to a lot of the true fans of blizzard and diablo, they are all brimming with excitement. You can feel the passion the team emitted at Blizzcon, I am sorry that you doubt and cannot feel it..... Have fun doing whatever it is you do, but if it is not Diablo related, stop polluting the forums.
Please and Thank You.

Just play the PTR on Tuesday and keep checking into the patch notes because other changes are coming. I am glad they did not waste my time with them on stage.
4
In summary, it is a TON OF NEW THINGS, and clearly a lot of stuff they still do not want to share coming to us in the near future and different intervals next year.
This game was really good, and it will be taking another step forward.
1 - Having a crafting mats tab instead of storing them in stash is awesome.
2 - The fill feature for the Cube is awesome.
3 - Constantly adding new zones with some lore is really nice!
4 - Challenge Rifts are going to be a fun competitive option to get bounty mats. They are also a means to have fun with friends, yet compete on leaderboards. Level, paragon, gear, etc.... None of it matters. But most importantly, they are going to take a snapshot build from the community, and that is the build we all play in the challenge rift, really really sweet idea!
5 - Necromancer is going to be AWESOME!!!!!
6 - Seasons on console is also really nice!!!
7 - The 6 new legendary items being added in 2.4.3 are going to be really fun and open up other build options!
8 - We get the 2.4.3 anniversary patch on PTR this coming Tuesday.
9 - When asked if they have "anything planned moving forward with story, etc..." had a huge smile and said "we cannot dive into that much"
10 - MANY NEW CLASSES, saying "we certainly have many NEW classes to add to the game, not only with the potential of bringing back old classes such as Druid and Amazon, but also unique classes not in the Diablo universe!
11 - Bottom line, they are clearly putting a ton of work into this game, proving it is FAR FROM MAINT MODE.

Does it help you sleep at night? Honestly, why does anyone have to be a flaming whiny cry baby, I just do not get it.
1
They did not even announce any of the changes yet, just a move to DLC, Necro, Maps, and D1 IN D3.
Those are some epic announcements, and you guys are a bunch of spoiled brats.
1
The fact they are going to a DLC route is actually a massive announcement!
On a whim we can get new content.
2
After being black for 10 seconds, flickers of red begin to emit.
With the flickers you hear a heart beat.
It is the very pulse of hell itself, and then they flash Diablo 4 on the screen, and leave it at that as the ultimate TEASE
1
My vote is for all 4, and as I said in the other post, will certainly check out the cast when I have time.
1
No time atm, but will certainly check this out!
2
It will not be "nothing" when in the descriptions themselves they talk about "NEW FEATURES AND PATCHES"
