It seems to be people that do not understand diminishing returns simply do not understand how beneficial this is.

I just wish Primal Ancients were follow by a re-tune of all +X% skill modifiers back into the 1-25% range and no higher.

Does nobody realize that this is actually a good thing?

Paragon will now be even less important considering the diminishing returns on mainstat...

This is a step in the right direction people!

Exactly, this makes the game almost entirely a loot hunt again, making the diminishing return on your stats pretty much nullify paragon levels 800-3500

It requires the same polish that we'd come to expect from a Blizzard product. This includes all facets of the character, from visuals of armor to spell effects to all the voice acting required from act 1-5. Anything less is unacceptable.

As for games like Heroes of the Storm, a lot of their heroes have been in development for much longer than we know. Characters that are being released now like Zul'jin and Varian were in development since the alpha. It was also the reason why we ended up getting like 7 Warcraft Assassin types in a row. It's not like they could toss out a SC2 or Diablo hero in between, because the work for their heroes was already planned out ahead of time.

Even if it takes similar time to develop as what we'd expect from an expansion, that's generally what goes into game dev considering all the iterations and internal approvals that need to be made. It doesn't take much less time to make one sausage link than it does a whole package.

Ant this is exactly my point regarding other character packs and even a story pack.

They mentioned about "NEW" characters never before seen in Diablo. They also have the endless map system which to me is clearly a transition into something, as well as the new zones and monsters.

Who knows how long they were working on all that, but they have a plan. I am personally just waiting for it to come out, and in the meantime playing FF15, Tales of Berseria, and Diablo 3 through the season journey.

My personal opinion is that we are going to get an announcement at gamescom or blizzcon about a DLC pack that will tie up all lose ends of the D3 story. This new story pack will also come with two new classes, and a new act.

The fact is that they are working on several things they have not even talked much about yet. For instance, the endless maps they showed us at blizzcon. Those were interesting, and I am curious to see what type of game mode that will be.

Also, the new zones and monsters they are adding, at least to me, seem like a prequel to the introduction of a new demon lord/demon army. Maybe all of this will be what leads up to D4?

It's taking them at least 8 months from announcement to release the necro. There's no way in hell they are capable of also releasing 2 more classes with another dlc, let alone a whole new act.
My comment in plain English does not say anything about "releasing" two new characters and a new act.

It says announcing, so not sure where the disconnect came from?

They definitely seem to want to get some business relation with Facebook. I'm a beta user of their Battlenet client, and they have streaming support for their games, but they stream to Facebook. I have no idea who thought that was a good idea. If I want to see streamed content, I'm going to Twitch or Youtube.

    For now,

Everyone used to say if I want social media I am going to Myspace, facebook and other tools will be garbage. Where is myspace in 2017?

I would like also to mention that offical blog that invite to watch dont even have link to stream! If you go to forum when you could post questions you have link but to main facebook page of diablo which if you are not from USA will automatically redirect you to your region facebook where you are basicaly scraved because there is no way to get to videos/stream on USA region(only place where you can access stream). And on top of that no comments allowed under blog.

They are experimenting with new ways to get to you.... I bet 70% of people didnt even watch stream because they coudnt get there. Navalistis is making so many mistakes that she is switching off comments so people cant critisaze her for lack of profecionalism.

you can change the locale of the site to the default setting (america). that way you can see the site and the q&a.

Thx for info. I created facebook acount to see q&a. It was problematic for me and propably others too. Link to facebook->videos in americans would solve all problems.
I mean, come on, you rant about this and you cannot even perform a simple google search worded "Diablo 3 facebook live" which will take you straight to the site for viewing without any issues at all......

Thank you! I did click on the cows but since I apparently didn't click them in the right order, nothing happened except making them look ghostly. And I did collect the Rotten Mushrooms - I was going to ask what those are used for too, but I forgot. So thanks for bringing it up.

I don't play D3 very often so my skills and knowledge of the game are, let's just say, lacking.

    ***EDIT***

I did the Rotten Mushroom/click on the bodies/get the plan for Wirt's Leg/craft Wirt's Leg thing. I also went back and clicked on the cows in the 2-1-3 order, but nothing happened. Isn't there supposed to be an Abandoned Farmstead entrance that triggers when the cows are clicked? I definitely didn't see anything like that.

    Did you salvage wirts leg?

I believe that is required in order for the farmstead entrance to spawn.

as I already played through it on PTR I already knew what it looked like.

It was pretty cool seeing items like the godly plate of the whale and kings sword of haste back.

Overall tho, it was quite dissapointing as it was just D3 maps (and layouts) with a big decrease of gfx (which is fine by me)

additionally the new leg gem is just totally useless, even for a lvl1 seasonal it's useless as you are unable to level it anyway at that point.

I would've lloved if they gave it a little more attention and added some items that would actually be nostalgic and in some way useful

You don't seem to understand the point of the new gem. The new gen was design to power level yourself. It's very useful as you can level yourself in the same amount of time a power leveler would level you up. It's exactly like the gen of ease worthless at level1 but amazing at 25+. There are plenty of PTR videos.
    Exactly,

Furthermore, when they talked about this during their blizzcon videos, they kept saying "first" legendary gem that goes into the helm socket. This leads me to think they are working on more unique gems for every slot instead of just jewelry. Would be nice to have upgrades over the +280 stat gems.

I just slayed Diablo, the Dark Lord himself. The whole thing was pretty cool, although I was a little frustrated that there are so many levels in the Labyrinth. Got a couple of questions though: in the ruins of Old Tristram are the bodies of Griswold, Farnham, Pepin and Ogden. When I click on them, I get messages that say "I can't open this" and "this can't be opened yet". What do I need to do so I can open them? Also, where's Wirt's Leg? I'd be very grateful for any help you all can give me.

Those bodies are part of getting Wirts leg.

On level 9 there is a black mushroom. You use that mushroom on the cauldron just outside of town in the event. The cauldron gives you an item that you use with one of the four bodies in town. Each body will drop an item that is used with a different body until you get Wirts Legs Plans. You create the item, get the transmog, then you salvage the item.

If you click in the cows in the order on the note (2,1,3) you will get a cow pet. The cows are located by the cauldron inside of the event.

    Hope that helps :)

I get that people create lavish expectations, which is awesome.

But to hold someone accountable for your own expectations makes little sense to me.

If you just take a look at games in general during anniversary events, this event is tops bar none. Most games just give you a small in game boost for 10 days and some form of in game pet. Diablo gave us a rendering of Labyrinth inside of Diablo 3, with a lot of memorable loot, including fan designed loot, on top of that we get two pets, and a pretty sweet portrait. AND STILL this event is going to return each January, which is pretty sweet.

I think people are being over the top with their expectations and need to real it in one of these days to really appreciate what is happening.

I still think that the Xbox One messed up and launched an old version of the PTR patch from Blizz.

Unless they decided to scrap every single set change, because someone was streaming WW on Xbox One and it was still the old 2500% weapon damage dust devil version. Was easy to see this because whirlwind itself was hitting for garbage.

    official patch note ;)
    Today will get the patch

If you read the first paragraph of the article you link to us......

With the new year here and Season 9 right around the corner, Patch 2.4.3 should arrive any day now. However, it looks like today, Tuesday, (which has been the normal day for patching Diablo III in recent history) is not that day.

That being said, if I remember correctly, patches 2.4.1 and 2.4.2 did not release until closer to 5pm PST. So if it does release today, we have another 4.5-5 hours.

In the end, we know one thing, it will release before Friday, January 6th at 5pm PST in NA :)

Like the post before me season 5 had a patch hit like 12 hours before season started in eu. I remember the event quite well as alot of my clan had concerns that bugs might not be found until it was to late and ruin early season.

In EU yeah it happened once, but it was still a wednesday patch drop and a thursday season goes live from what I recall.

In NA we have not gotten a patch any later than a Tuesday, and we get seasons on a Friday.

Only strange thing is that PTR is still up and running, and usually it goes down monday before patch tuesday.

Hopefully this is not a bad sign, but with the holidays, maybe the patch will take an extra day?
