    Nobody seems to know what they're talking about... HD is being erroneously applied to computer displays. HD is a TELEVISION standard, not a computer graphics standard.

    What you're referring to is the resolution of the textures. If the game engine supports multiple display resolutions, which most games and graphics cards now do, and the textures are high enough quality, and your display's native resolution is high enough.... then yes, 1920x1080 or above is possible.

    I would also hope you wouldn't choose to play a computer game on a TV... the refresh rates are set to match TV standard framerates (29.97 or 30fps), and are thus much much lower than computer displays, which are usually 60 to 75 Hz. The result is a choppier signal, or even ghosting in some instances with LCD and Plasma displays.
