so im making a bunch of concept artwork for storyboard, or game with some of the themes diablo has... darkness,hell,gore, and etc
For some reason my brain farts and ideas havent gotten me far as i liked... only one city, boss, and race of people.
What im looking for is... ideas from people like you who know what you want in a gritty game.
What i need is..
City ideas, location weather style people within it.
Monsters, any thing that would scare you in real life.. please be detailed. Come in all sizes, from small ones that explode to big ones who break down walls and cant be escaped.
Boss, Big, badass, brutal The three bs
Class's, what you the player or the reader would be as or reading about. aka the hero, please be detailed about the spells they use and the way the would bring them selfs
about.
People of focus, people who the hero speaks to in time of need... such as cain
Please post your ideas.. and thanks for you help i will start to post my sketchs in the art part and here... sence its used alot more then the other forums.
This is what i have so far.. if you care to know * ill have the pictures finished soon in photoshop*
Bonetwister... A monster with 2 huge claws and 4 legs such as a man horse type deal... He has a charge attack to get closer... his horns on his head are good for bashing down doors he lowers it as he charges.. But where he gets his name is from one of his better attacks and most fatal. If you get close to him his claws grab you and twist your heros body till his bones start to pop out and his body becomes two. Yes i no his name is bad.. any better idea would be great.
Al'merd... A huge city with buildings made of stone and sand, It is in the middle of the desert the only way they live is from a huge water well.. the well was born when the frist king past away and his body that was once full of great life and power went into the land and a well was born. The city has only one true way of geting into it, the main doors.. not made of stone,metal, or wood.. its made of pure sand that can be controlled by the citys mages. All i have gotten so far...
Smog- could be a boss... he looks like a sack of bodys in a huge ball of skin... that hangs on a huge rib cage and he has huge legs but no arms or head....
He is a caster type... when the bodys in his sack start to scream and shake you no its time to get away.. he bursts out a huge smog cload that slows and hurts the hero... and also damages over time... he also shoots basic balls of smog and what not...
this could be just a basic boss small monster or something else just a idea i had..

Frist off its not your diablo 3, 2nd of the art is amazing and will be dark and great. The game with have many people from many games and you sir need a life.
the vd should in my opinion use voodoo and tribal magic if the corspe shield is something like that then use it
voodoo is more like man made magic like gunpowder, only reason it was magic back in that time would be the fact they didnt know much about stuff of that sort

My point was, that when making new spells they often steal ideas and features from other spells... thats all jesus didnt think people on this forum would me chilish with there trolling about and making smart ass comments. Yes you can do it
like they said they steal styles from each class to make spells, its not that bad of a thing i think they wont give the witch doctor a sheild, he has other means of protection like fear mechs
Didnt the necro have a bone sheild? well i really hope that the witch docter has a corpse sheild with body parts flying around. Also maybe he can use it to summon mongrals and stuff but it takes away the % of the sheild .
Every one is talking about the darkness of D3 and how there is none. Well there very wrong and i think acting like the kids they want out of the game. Everyone thinks that this is the final look and the Real content, from what i no only the boss's,monbs, and Base envoriment is what they use from the real game to make a gameplay vid. This means that the sat,hue,detailed envoriment,color, and many other factors that can be tweaked. Also when the bridge breaks and the barb leaps over, thats not going to be in the real game unless each class has a other way to get around it just as fast.
The art that people are crying about, isnt that bad to start i mean o my good great god that Gargoyle has a smile. Have any of you seen a real gargoyle...? half of them have smiles like imps.
OMG GAY RAINBOW....? Seriously.. i mean is just shows that the physics/ Brand new game engine, made apart from WoWs is just great. An can show the muti reflections of light made by water falling from a waterfall. OMG Waterfall... there a part of nature get over it.
ITS TOO BRIGHT MY EYES NEED DARKNESS.... 20 years any one know how long that is? Thats like my life spand and then some at the moment. Hell has been at bay for that long, meaning that there isnt any darkness around from the evil that has just shown its self. The Game play vid is probly around act one, so that being said... evil is just coming out and hasnt been around for years.
So the people who think that this one gameplay vid, is how the rest of the game will look your very wrong.
Thats my rant about the people who have been ranting. Sorry if i hurt someones feelings
