most-def man. im sure blizzard is aware how successful wow is, and theyre definitely not gonna hesitate to add wow elemnts into d3, thinking that those elements will make d3 successful as well. but d3 is an entirely different game and story.
im guessing that all of us here are pretty experienced mmorpg gamers, and that we know what a great mmo consists of. although some of us only discuss about graphics, sound, and gameplay, isnt a huge part of it all is the psychological aspect?
one main thing is that sense of accomplishment that you get when you play mmo's. having that sense of fulfillment. the feeling inside you, that you know you did your best, and you succeeded, and also having that "show-off" status. because great mmo's give players a chance to set personal goals for themselves to accomplish, whether it be: killing a target in pvp, finishing a long dungeon, killing a huge boss, acquiring the best loot, leveling up, etc.
that "feeling", atleast for me, is what keeps me wanting to play the game more whenever i log off. that feeling of "Oh f**k yeah I did it!", or "Oh my God I've finally done it!", or "YES! YES! YES!", or "Holy sh*t I'm so good!". i got that feeling from D2 and WoW (please dont hate me for playing it), and i most certainly hope D3 will provide it.
hehe, i know we all think differently, but dont you agree with me? its that "feeling" inside you. its all about what goes on in our heads.
sorry that this kinda goes off topic, but were all anticipating the same game here. were so caught up with the "art direction" or whatever.
people should also put into consideration that d3 is 20 years after d2 (i think). realistically, 20 years is alot of time to "fix" things. maybe thats why sanctuary doesnt looks so gothic or horrific anymore. but the problem is, as d3 lasts longer, the story of the game progresses, therefore sanctuary becomes more "gothic" as the game passes by.
blizzard is obviously going to see that a lot of diablo gamers aren't liking how the game is turning out so far, so they're obviously gonna change up a few things,
dont expect the whole game to change though, they're not just gonna start over for people like you.
i personally, like how the game is turning out so far.
its people like you that are going to ruin the game.
yea i like the game so far too. i only played D2 for like 2 months so the "gothic" feeling didnt really sink in like most of u have. so i could care less about colorful environments. but id have to say that itd be better if it was a little more "gothic". Rob Pardo said in the interview that they want the "gothic/creepy" feeling to be psychologic... crawling in our minds... as we play the game.
and you guys should be thankful. blizzard is doing us a favor, what if they werent even thinking about making a third installment?
well if there is an iconic class. the worst thing that could happen is having like 70% of the game's population choosing that class as their character. that ruins the game. they MIGHT have an "iconic" class, but blizzard wont make that too obvious f'sho. its best to have a good balance in all the classes. hopefully therell be more than 5.
i like that he said its more global, so matchmaking is easier and finding parties will def be easier as well. also he said that the game coming along pretty great and theyre already playing it at their labs, which might mean that were heading close to a beta, maybe... 6-7 months? and maybe 9-12 months till release? HOPEFULLY!
everything he said sounds really great. but those are just words. the true judgment will begin once the game comes out.
Oh they'll have PvP I'm sure, it'll just be more controlled.
well yea. i know theyre gonna have pvp. im just saying theyre not gonna super duper perfect it like what theyre doing in wow. theyre prbly just gonna have it upon d3's release, then not update it for like a year, haha.
and monthlies will not necessarily keep pre-puberty n00bs out. perfect example, WoW. but i do hope the game will be pretty complex for PPN's, so that theyd be to stupid to play d3.
Hopefully they will do excellent on all those areas.
hopefully, since it seems like theyre not gonna give a rats ass about pvp/pk for a long time. the above things are the only things that will keep us playing. so they have to excel in it. its really hard to maintain an mmorpg without pvp u know.
Raiding is a WoW thing. We don't need to rip anything more off of that forsaken game to make a new Diablo.
well i got that its a wow thing. but if it got implemented into d3. would it really ruin the game? or is it only because most of u guys hate wow and dont want anything wow related, even the tiniest thing to be on d3?
