Wow, for an old-timer you sure are out of the loop. If you actually think that there is no competative aspect in D2, you are part of a very small minority, and must not be very observant. Because if you have ever played D2 online, you would have realized how competative and crazy people would get over duels.

I agree with the OP. Enigma allowed for many builds to come into play. Mobility is, in my opinion, the most deadly weapon one can possess. If you've ever seen a sorc at the 200% FCR breakpoint, you know what I mean. Enigma just gave every character that deadly weapon.
I rather liked D2's gender specific classes. I don't know if I'll like barbs being females and Sorcs being males.
The first thing I'm doing in D3 is making a Female Sorceress.
