at least make some kinda option that you can shut off critter kills. you know, some ppl are very sensitive about that kinda stuff. critter killing doesnt belong in these kinda games. it changes the whole game dramatically.
No, critter killing changes your feeling of the character dramatically. You want to feel like your char is baddass? Kill a bunny, its free and bam, your char seems badass (well, mentally). Want your character to seem nice and lovely, then don't kill the critter. Its all up to you really; they're not in any way forcing you to kill critters, they're just letting you do it if you want.
Hell, if you feel strongly enough about it, you can roleplay your char as some super-nice person who doesn't group with critter killers. I don't really think anyone else would mind? -

"Starcraft announced summer of 96, it was released summer of 98.
Diablo II announced July, 1998, it was released July 5, 2000
WArcraft III, announced August of 1999. Released July 3, 2002.
World of Warcraft, announced September 2, 2001. Released November 23, 2004."

Jul 20, 2008Decay posted a message on Diablo III vs Hellgate: LondonThat made me lol =) It looked a lot like someone complaining that HG:L wasn't Diablo 3, and now that Diablo 3 is out, they are complaining about the things they didn't like in HG:L as loud as they can in hopes that D3 wont make the same mistakes. With credit to them for that I guess, its not easy for us "little guys" to get our voices heard in the spires of our favorite games creators. Well, as far as I know anyway. Being a .nzer, the most I can hope a bliz dude will hear about what my opinion on the taste of d3 is, is if I made a big complaininy rant about it and it got thrown around the net a lot lol.Posted in: News
My 2c re: HG:L/D3 (keeping in mind that I haven't even played HG:L either yet) is that I basically agree with that persons point in that post in that there were so many good ideas there that just went to waste. If this is because most of the ideas were poached from bliz or if they were just rushing to beat bliz to the punch of a game they felt they had more right to (considering they were doing most of the work on D1 and D2). I hope D3 comes out good, I hear HG:L surely didn't. And the whole idea of D3 still feels like someone writing a sequel to someone elses book in my mind so far. A good D3 will fix this I'm sure, but yeah, the idea seems strange
Not to say I'm not looking forward to it like AIDS sufferers look forward to a vaccine, 'cos I am, I just like to over-analyse things to give me something to do until D3 comes out lol -

I can see it now ... "Wirts Other Leg" - +95% chance villagers will be creeped out by you. Effect works while wirts other leg is in your backpack
lol
well I'm sure theres something cool someone would come up with

I think they did something like that a while ago, when Bliz asked on their forums what kinda event/thing/etc people thought there should be in the next patch for D2 I think. Although I can't remember any outcome for that, I'm pretty sure the übers came out a little while after then though ...
But I digress. I love it when game developers get a random little thing (which really, doesn't do anything bad if its a small enough thing) and let the devout/long-term players decide/create it. And if it was a monster, it couldn't do worse than some of the creatures they made lol =D I mean sure, they'd have to balance it and everything but still, there could be some kind of voting system or something to find the community favorite hehe

Yeah, theoretically they could do any bit any order that they wanted, but I heard in some interview that they prefer to do them all in order so they get like a developing feel and more cohesiveness, and then come back later and change/add/remove things they think need tweaking
But most of their teams are probably working on game mechanics at this point. It sounds like they have the story and what kind of feel most places are supposed to have all sorted out by now. I mean, sure some art teams and stuff, but just from the topics they [blizz employees] tended to steer most interviews towards that I've seen seem to indicate that they were more focussed on getting the tech of the game down pat, while they had more sorted out 99% of their visual/story/etc components quite a while ago (although apparently still need more work on the random story/quest parts)
Gods, I ramble lots when I've been drinking!

Unless these achievements give you rewards like bonus equipment or titles or etc, I would tend to agree
And yeah, more than one expansion would be lovely. Maybe they can eventually put in all the old chars hehehehe Well, ok, maybe only the ones that didn't suck. Lol but then they'd have to take out the barbarian with the first exp pack
