I think the idea of an editor for people to have fanfiction acted out would be very cool, and support community mods. I don't think it should be used in conjunction with the original story line though, but independent concepts.

How about they make it dark like it's supposed to then. After all, you guys can just increase the brightness and contrast.

If you feel that the artstyle isn't dark enough that is great, but your opinion is heard as is the other guys, as is mine. Can we leave it at that?

YOu really need to add an option that is more related to wait and see. I don't believe we have enough information on how the health globes will function to really say they are good or bad. I think it can be good if balanced right, or bad if not. Bag management needs to exist though, if that doesn't happen then I will worry.

Forgot to mention, if blizzard decides to betray its loyal fans then we can always mod it, but it's still necessary to try and convince blizzard to come back to the dark side... the side of awesomeness.

They aren't betraying me so please becareful to say you represent all of their loyal fans.

Prime and Lesser Evils never die, when they are defeated on the mortal plane (Sanctuary) they are sen't back into the Black Abyss

Correct and from there it is a matter of time before they are able to resurrect themselves. Plus the Soulstone just fastened them to a plane such as ours, and if corrupted served to only make them more powerful.

you know what I think... I hear all these people like "Aww yeah I got all these new upgrades for my comp" and then you go and get games like D3 when you could be taking advantage of you computer by playing something like COD4 or Crysis or something like that... I think cinimatics should look like the game.... So I think this game is Crap!!! Absolute shit... Blizzard get you shit together and make some games with the same graphics as the cinimatics you spend so much time on....

Blizzard doesn't design games to sell only to the 5% of people with system powerful enough to run them, leaving others to turn all the settings to low only to lose the experience that the full settins would give. Also Crysis was a critical failure in sales, because of its high system requirements. It is a good game, sure, but nothing special, and realism is easy and very cheesy to do. It takes more work to create a look and feel that is unique and fantastic.

I agree with some things you said, but that's exactly it, they are not trying to make it like D2, which worries me. If they updated skills, but kept the game play virtually the same I would enjoy that more than what I have seen in the lone video.

I am jumping to conclusions, but I want this to be a pleasant experience for all Diablo gamers.

Woah woah there, they could have really done some crazy stuff like Hellgate or Guildwars with this game. Those games are nice but not Diablo, they have improved the mechanic that is Diablo and kept the general asthetics similar but that is from my point of view. I'm not saying people aren't entitled to their opinion but many have not taken into account how a game with graphics similar to Poser would look in our enviroment. To be honest one of my biggest complaint of games outside of WoW is how they aim so hard for realism that they lose a lot of emotional effect; the sensation for the most part of the games is lost since the character's arms are just plain.

What is it that exaggeration defeats from using predefined body subtypes of the previous iterations.

My biggest complaint thus far is that the mobs disappear, I can respect the engine limitations, but I do hope their is a toggle for the amount of "gibbs" on the screen at one time.

Blizzard thinks they are making Mario Kart when in fact they should be making NFS.

Diablo is not a fun racer! It's serious! You're not supposed to copy things from God of War/WOW etc.! Improve what is there. Otherwise Diablo will become a copy of its own copies.

What makes it Mario Kart vs Need For Speed?

Ok, I've read through the first five pages but I was late to registering and been fairly busy to boot. -First post btw-

Ok first off would someone please define what makes something that is "cartoonish" bad. By defining something as "cartoon like" your simply stating that within the realm of Heavy Metal and Powerpuff Girls this game has similarities. Be more accurate please.

Ok here are my pros and cons about the games aesthetics at this point in the development process.
    Pros-
-The characters have more depth to their physical features
-The world retains it's detailed features while still being scalable
-To some it can still resemble Diablo, its 3/4 perspective
    -Outdoors look like outdoors
    Cons-
-The tones of color don't use the full color wheel
    -Dungeons aren't that bright
-More textural layers should be considered i.e. when it rains your character should be glistening showing that he is soaked.

Issues people bring up as cartoony right now, while somewhat concerned aren't totally valid, remember that when DiabloII was released it was made to scale from 8bit color wheel to 16bit color wheel. Now we are at 32bit (anything more our eyes can't discern) so a lot more possibilities are available to the developers. Blizzard is trying to constructively look at the gaming enviroment around them and not make Diablo II.5 this is Diablo III. Yes to say that some reworking is necessary could be nice but other then changing the color pallette do you have any other problems.

Also zooming in on a small peace of architecture is not going to prove that the artstyle is horrid, the game is designed to be viewed from afar, not with a magnifine lens. Yes when you look at it closely it doesn't look super realistic and overly detailed, Blizzard likes to make their games scalable. To do this they use simple geometric shapes that can get the point across, that set of grey blocks are a golem, so becareful about being too scrutinizing.

Answer me this, when your slaughtering 20 Skeleton warriors will you be concerned about how that one little golem will look fully magnified?
