posted a message on Respec and Health Globes on Diablo III
I'd rather have them be by some repeatable quest or purchasable with gold or something like turning in SoJs in D2. They should also be limited to one per log in so people can't build themselves towards another character or mob quickly.

I like the possibility of being able to try out different specs and see how they work for me rather than being stuck releveling a class.

If there ends up being a bind system for items... respec is a must.

I don't like the idea. I'd rather burn my way through the hordes of fleshy minions.

    Oops, I said horde.

(I don't like how people dismiss ideas because they're in WoW either. D3 is a PC game... oh geez... so is WoW. Both played online you say? Screw that. Make D3 single player only.)

posted a message on An Issue I Foresee w/ the Drop System
I don't like the idea of percent damage effecting how many of the drops you get. This feels like the rich get richer. If someone doesn't contribute, you learn from that game to not assist them again.

Imagine dying and coming back and because some reflect or something killed you, you get a "sock".

Can someone clarify something for me please. Do items drop only from YOUR kills or they can also drop from your partners ?

Like if my partners are killing everything before me, will i see something drop or you only get drops from the stuff you kill ??

I took it as, if you're in the general vicinity, any kills by your party will drop items. Each item will only be visible to one person. If my friend kills a skeleton and it drops a rare, that could be my rare. It is randomly chosen.

In addition to fairness it also allows you to figure out which items you'll want to drop after the kill as opposed to after when you needed to drop items just for the chance at loot on the kill.

I'd love for that to happen.

I hated the whole swapping gear thing to utilize my mf. I'd much rather have your system or another system allowing me to jsut plain old use my good gear and not sacrifice everything just for high mf on an item.

Diablo is too PVE oriented to easily have an auction house fit in, since at most there will be roughly 8 players per server in D3.

I think the general idea of the AH is that it would be across b.net and not just within your current game. At least that's how I took it. With only 8 people it is very worthless though.

The reason I don't like it is because this gives me the feeling that I'm gonna be sitting in a game with random people, and something is going to drop off a boss that I am going to very much wish I had at least the CHANCE to pick up myself. But instead thanks to this crap I now have to pay/trade the guy that it dropped for when I was there and took part in the killing of said boss just as much as he. If they are going to do something gay like this, they SHOULD implement a rolling system like WoW. That way at least you can say, "hey guys, I really need that particular item. Is it cool if I take it?" instead of having to pay for something you should have had the chance to pick up in the first place. Just seems like it's going to be very screwy and cause a lot more bitching than actually ending it.

Well, as I see it, Blizzard is giving you a roll that you basically automatically accept and depending on that you do or don't get the item. Randomly selecting one person in the group is your chance. Although I see what you're saying. Its like rolling the dice rather than playing spoons.

I think that the old system, other than allowing ninjas, encouraged hacks or addons to "grab items". I remember a while back when I played, dealing with itemgrabbers... It was a nightmare. I like that this aspect of the game will become more relaxed so I can play until 5am, not worrying about how fast I click purple names.

posted a message on D3 Looting Drops explained
Taken from Bashiok (Blizzard Poster) on the official forums.

"Currently - while in a party each player will see their own drops from each kill.

This could mean that after killing a zombie I see a sword drop, and you may see a shoulder slot item drop. Or I see nothing drop, while you got an axe.

Obviously while in a group you're killing faster, and this could translate to an exponentially increasing number of drops with each additional player in your party. However, it's balanced in such a way that the drop % is pulled back a bit with each additional player (I'm simplifying it, but that's what it boils down to). This keeps it from being almost detrimental to not play with a full party, while still giving a nice increase to the amount of drops if you do.

From this system it seems quite a few people got the impression that you'll never see items drop that you can't use. For instance, a Barbarian will never see a dagger that only a Witch Doctor can use. This isn't true. There is no effect, or at least no currently intended effect, to restrict which items which classes can or can't see for their respective drops. It's still intended that you could see an item that your class can't use. It's easy enough to drop the item, ask if anyone can use it, or just sell it off of course."

    I'm glad to here that.

I'd love an AH. I hated the pains of trading in D2.

I'd even be happy with a barter house where you could put up items and receive item offers. Then you could just take whatever offer you wanted. While you had an item offer in place the item was taken from you so you couldn't offer it somewhere else or use it.

What do you guys think about requiring maybe 5/20 of lightning 1 to get the option of lightning 2. Something to almost allow spending of skills early on to make your lower toon more powerful without gimping your final char.

It would be an alternative to synergies.

posted a message on New Attribute Suggestion for Skills: Charging
I like it as maybe an opening move.

Maybe a sorc could charge up that fireball and move around with it then release it on the boss, but charging in mid battle would be rather worthless. I'm not saying that the idea is worthless, but charging mid fight should be less efficient, so charges are only used to start with.

Also, let say I have my charged fireball. I have to release that fireball before I can use another spell so I'm punished the mana/time if I come to a fire immune and must swap to my light attack etc.
