Quote fromSo Blizzard is looking for an art director, how does that affect the release day?
Its not so much that the specific job leads me to believe there is a lot of work still to do, but the fact that they're still figuring things out, and we all know that new hires takes some time no matter how far up the corporate ladder. Looking for a fresh set of eyes, especially to lead, could result in major changes which take time.
I have my fingers crosses that they're just adding and adding people to get things done quicker.

I like the possibility of being able to try out different specs and see how they work for me rather than being stuck releveling a class.
If there ends up being a bind system for items... respec is a must.

Oops, I said horde.
(I don't like how people dismiss ideas because they're in WoW either. D3 is a PC game... oh geez... so is WoW. Both played online you say? Screw that. Make D3 single player only.)

Imagine dying and coming back and because some reflect or something killed you, you get a "sock".

I took it as, if you're in the general vicinity, any kills by your party will drop items. Each item will only be visible to one person. If my friend kills a skeleton and it drops a rare, that could be my rare. It is randomly chosen.

I hated the whole swapping gear thing to utilize my mf. I'd much rather have your system or another system allowing me to jsut plain old use my good gear and not sacrifice everything just for high mf on an item.

I think the general idea of the AH is that it would be across b.net and not just within your current game. At least that's how I took it. With only 8 people it is very worthless though.

Well, as I see it, Blizzard is giving you a roll that you basically automatically accept and depending on that you do or don't get the item. Randomly selecting one person in the group is your chance. Although I see what you're saying. Its like rolling the dice rather than playing spoons.

"Currently - while in a party each player will see their own drops from each kill.
This could mean that after killing a zombie I see a sword drop, and you may see a shoulder slot item drop. Or I see nothing drop, while you got an axe.
Obviously while in a group you're killing faster, and this could translate to an exponentially increasing number of drops with each additional player in your party. However, it's balanced in such a way that the drop % is pulled back a bit with each additional player (I'm simplifying it, but that's what it boils down to). This keeps it from being almost detrimental to not play with a full party, while still giving a nice increase to the amount of drops if you do.
From this system it seems quite a few people got the impression that you'll never see items drop that you can't use. For instance, a Barbarian will never see a dagger that only a Witch Doctor can use. This isn't true. There is no effect, or at least no currently intended effect, to restrict which items which classes can or can't see for their respective drops. It's still intended that you could see an item that your class can't use. It's easy enough to drop the item, ask if anyone can use it, or just sell it off of course."

I'm glad to here that.

I'd even be happy with a barter house where you could put up items and receive item offers. Then you could just take whatever offer you wanted. While you had an item offer in place the item was taken from you so you couldn't offer it somewhere else or use it.

It would be an alternative to synergies.

I was worried there would be gathering skills...

Maybe a sorc could charge up that fireball and move around with it then release it on the boss, but charging in mid battle would be rather worthless. I'm not saying that the idea is worthless, but charging mid fight should be less efficient, so charges are only used to start with.
Also, let say I have my charged fireball. I have to release that fireball before I can use another spell so I'm punished the mana/time if I come to a fire immune and must swap to my light attack etc.
