Quote fromSo Blizzard is looking for an art director, how does that affect the release day?
Its not so much that the specific job leads me to believe there is a lot of work still to do, but the fact that they're still figuring things out, and we all know that new hires takes some time no matter how far up the corporate ladder. Looking for a fresh set of eyes, especially to lead, could result in major changes which take time.
I have my fingers crosses that they're just adding and adding people to get things done quicker.

I don't like this idea.
I do like however that bosses would change as their hp dropped. I'm thinking along the lines of a melee boss who would berserk at say 20% and do more damage/movement speed and have less defense.

To add onto it, lets imagine a lightning type boss who is light immune. Wouldn't it make sense for this guy to drop light sorc gear? Well, she would have a hell of a time killing him so she'd need friends or it would encourage trading. I realize this would suck for single player, but dual element sorc's would get around it and I'm sure D3 will have more options for killing rather than skipping a mob or letting the merc have at it.

They really have to do it for the story guys though. I just don't care much about the lore.

Quests could be linear, meaning I'd have to do the den of evil, then blood raven, etc before I can kill Andarial.
TPs could be made personal, meaning that you could only use your own tp to prevent high levels from TPing you to Andy. This would be horrible...
In order to get the Andarial quest finished for example, maybe you would be required to deal 5% of the damage at least. A level 1 would probably not be able to, and obviously on other bosses wouldn't be able to either. A low percentage gives you a great chance if you're all ready to even plug in your 5% if you're in a group of 5 (As D3 has been stated to contain in a max game).
I'm sure there are other ways.

I was thinking the same, or the corny September 9th, 2009 date... for obvious reasons.

As long as I'm not a little girl skilling up my Tickle ability so I'm better at tickling bunny rabbits in a mystical forest.

I believe Blizzard said that orbs were to reduce the need for pot spamming. I think maybe they will timer potions and make their effect much larger.
Rejuvenation orbs anyone? God that would be nice.

But, I have much faith in Blizzard. I've enjoyed all their major titles, even if I eventually got sick of WoW and the horrible balance/pvp.

I would love to see features such as the keys and the cow level in D3 though.
(I haven't been to Uber Tristram yet because I quit well before them and jsut came back to D2 2 weeks ago. It'll prbably be a while starting from scratch again...)

I can squish that health orb while being stressed out over waiting for D3.

I don't expect the game until Q3/4 of '09, but my God would I be thrilled if it were Christmas time this year.

I'm sure Blizz has it figured out. I'm not worried about items and requirements or weights. I don't see them screwing over a caster class on speed to wear things.
