You can push a button WHENVER you want, even when there is no orb on the floor. There has to be an orb there for you to walk over and get it. not have 99 potions and spam away while you stand in fire and never die.

True. I read it as if they were replacing potions, or doing the WoW thing when it has an enormous cool-down time and costs a pretty penny.

So now I have to click and run over to a health orb instead of just pushing a button? What was wrong with pushing a button, just put a hotkey on the keyboard instead of the numbers since thats what they want to use skills for. The space bar? How about the space bar its big and everyone can use it.

Tetris but allow to but more carry space through buying it, like d2 has buying more bank/chest space. Plus it would make gold actually worth having besides repairs.

Respecs in D2 wouldn't make much sense, but if the skills are different, then it might be needed.

One thing with differences in skills and class is how they are managed in the field of battle. If the barbarian has "leap attack" and you didn't spec for that some enviroments later in the game based on their archetecture might be harrowingly difficult. So difficult you're not going to keep up.

The magic caster in your party doesn't have any other spell but fire and bam immunity to fire enemies are everywhere.

Even if respec is extremely expensive and annoying to get to the option should be there.
With casual gamers  out there Blizzard is not going to lose a source of income when they can put such an option in as a safeguard.

Skill trees force people to learn skills gradually through out the game, its certainly a fun aspect.
Whatever Blizzard decides will be good either way. They are pretty successful.

posted a message on How should loot drops work in Diablo 3?
If its own loot the system should make sense, I'll hate getting melee weapons I can't use over and over again when the barb gets magic caster equipment for own loot.

FFA for minor things, for impreissive equipment it would be nice to have the WoW roll even though that can easily be abused.

For the record if I have one character and I'm rolling need and someone else is rolling need because they want it for their 3rd alternate... FFA just seems more fair. Like Capitalism fair, lol.

in the trailer u could see that it can be 3D'd, and u still have that D2 feeling

Appears that we'll have the option, maybe revealing the other view aspects would scare the public now. Blizzard is wise to remember they have an enormous base to start with and that they have to satisfty us first.

posted a message on Progress Percent??
75% 80% in the making and structure, etc. But in order to release get the mechanics ironed out with the characters and damage and skill mathematics maybe 50%.

Their testers might find something that needs fixing and set the back a lot.

My laptop can run oblivion, but it can't handle hair. Since my older computer used to run D2:LOD great except for Baal's throne room it's going to be a close call.
But hey why not stimulate the economy? :D

I proposed the idea of respecing every 5 (or 6 if DII system stays) levels. You get to level 5, you get to respec those 5 levels and define in which direction you are going. 5 levels later, you get to respec skill points from levesl 6-10. And so on. This way you can't respec too much and you have to stick to some idea. And it doesn't rely on a currency or playing time or whatever...

Wow. I actually really like that idea. Maybe too have a okay/cancel for choosing a skill anyways to see the damage change and the like.

posted a message on Choosing character names: Player discretion or Blizzard's?
I'm on the fence whether or not I like people creating their own names for characters or being ushered into using fantasy names similar to the game's lore.

World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, and a few others have the idea of more fantasy names. Ribbioulous as a player's barbarians name instead of xxxBOBby_LOVES-BAC0nxxx.

Volume of players will affect this, and a bunch of other things.

Essentially, How much control should the player have on their character's name?
I'm thinking a large amount but no swears, no sticky caps, and no bacon.

Make it cost gold to respec, and possibly put a timer in so you can't respec everyday even if you had the gold. With restrictions it will make original skill point distribution important.

With a new patch (oh man sorry I'm bringing this up) a free respec just because I remember when they changed how sorceress skills worked and wow mine was completely useless at such a high level.

    Quote from "Jeru5" »
Titan quest have set items too... in D3 there will be definately set items, no worries ;) i would like some new class items example - Perfect, Excellent, Artifacts, Old items fragile but with incredible magic etc.

I didn't see that many set items during my runs thru TitanQuest. Set items with unique abilites were amazing in D2. I'd like to see more of that.

Since it does pertain to the items topic, Titanquest had a caravan to trade your in game items between your own player pretty easily. I can only hope there is something to that affect in Diablo 3 since the way I traded items between characters was not very secure especially back when I had the ol' dial-up. Oh man I didn't want to give that cathans set to my sorceress anyways... I just wanted to throw it on the ground and cry. ^_^

posted a message on Highest level in D3?
There just is something majestic with capping level at 99, but I believe it would be entertaining that levels beyond 100 would need more than just experience to achieve.
Quest or certain amount of pvp wins to move to a higher level. Now that could prove to be fun.
