I hate hearing that, WOW take most part of is good thing in diablo1 and 2 and other mmorpg. DIablo 1 is the first RPG that went out on the market and he launch RPG gender and influenced most part of all RPG on the market now. STOP saying that diablo 3 in a bastard son of wow because wow is the bastard son of diablo 1 and 2.

Diablo 1 wasn't the first RPG on the market, but I do agree that WoW took what worked from their previous games and built upon it. They are doing this with Diablo 3. If people won't play it just because it shows likeness to a game that was extremely successful then good riddance! Don't play the game - less competition!

How can you criticize a company for being successful then incorperating the best parts of that success into new games? It's a constantly changing dynamic. WoW will be WoW and Diablo 3 will be Diablo 3 regardless of similarities or differences.

Kinda interesting stuff. I also thought it was funny that they had the little easter-egg commercial on the disk if you explored it instead of ran it.

    Nice finds though :)

It could look like this Bestiary for Diablo 2. But then in the game.

    http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/monsters/

Yes, though it could incorporate other various statistics that are character-related such as the death count. Perhaps even how many times that monster has killed you. :cute:

Yeh, Diablo 2 gave birth to WoW, wait... Now I'm starting to dislike Diablo 2 for bringing such an abomination to light. xD

I don't know how WoW is an abomination. It was successful. If it's not your thing then that's cool... but that game made it possible for Blizzard to do what it is now. Without that source of income they wouldn't be able to fund D3, SC2, a new MMO and another new game on top of that.

    2. Legendary Items:
OK now WTF. What was the point of changing the "Unique Item" to the "Legendary Item". While both do exactly the same thing, one is DIABLO & one is WoW! And if that wasn't enough, the "Legendary Item" drop is now a purple drop...Not gold or orange but a Wow Epic purple. So now "Unique Item" has become "Legendary-Epic Item". This was done because the gold drop was indecipherable from the rare yellow drop. Um, Blizzard? What's happened to the state of the art technology? The likes that brought us games like Diablo and Star/WarCraft. Games that were allocated huge budgets and huge intellectual property with the best game designing minds from around the world finding a simple solution to a simple problem. OR we could use a deeper gold and a lighter yellow...(maybe overly simplistic but prove me wrong!)
Legendary items are orange in WoW. Epic items are purple.

Enough with the WoW-Diablo parallels, it hurts my head. I say this because people talk like Diablo and Warcraft are the only games in the world. WoW is not the only game that uses that color scheme and it certainly took plenty from Diablo 2 to boot. It's an evolution progress. Take what works, leave what doesn't.

However, I would like to have orange or gold items like Diablo 2. I'd rather have rares take the different color and keep the gold.

Formatting your computer means completely refreshing your hard drive. It flushes all the data.

You probably have the conficker virus. It's not picking it up because it won't allow your computer to update itself to detect it. The best thing I can suggest is to back up any files you don't want to lose and reformat your hard drive.

Well, I like doing what I want when I want with my free time. Maybe other people don't.

You know you have a good girlfriend when what both of you want to do is to be together in your free time. If you ever think it's a job or a hindrance then you're with the wrong person. I'm assuming you just haven't met that person you.

As a sidenote, sacrifice is a good thing to learn. Sooner or later you'll have to do it in a relationship and in all honesty you shouldn't be in one until you think you're able to. in other words, it's good to not have a girlfriend when you're in that state of mind. :P

It is for me. If I didn't believe that then I wouldn't eat meat at all, or eggs.

Though like I said before I don't like the suffering aspect, but I like meat more than I care as long as they don't suffer outrageously.

You aren't taking a life when you eat eggs. The fetus is infertile. And second, the biggest reason to eat meat is for protein, and I eat meat because as of now it is the best food-source for those substances in a balanced meal. To me, the fact that it tastes good is a bonus. Sure beans and other various foods have protein but it is not as high in content as meat is.

Anyways, I don't mind free-pasture butcher because the animals have a free roaming life before being killed. Not to mention the fact that the cattle in question wouldn't exist if farmers didn't breed them for food. To me that is nothing like going out and killing game just because it tastes better when there is plenty of meat already on the market. I feel it's on the same vein as somebody justifying the killing of animals instead of shooting at targets because there's a higher entertainment value for them.

At the very least the animal shouldn't suffer.

No, pretty sure it didn't need fixing. People understand that this is an opinion.

The pivotal factor of him shining during daylight has nothing to do with it. I expressed that I didn't want to read the book, and that is that.

It is not arguing when I made that statement. I was explaining my point. Make sure you realize that next time.

No, that is incorrect. You clearly stated that:

people know vampires are not usually depicted as 'sparkling'
You are not claiming that "only I think this." When you start including "people" in your opinions they become statements - and false ones when it is based on faulty information. When this happens I will clearly point it out as I did here in this thread. The rest of what you have said were statements based on your own opinions, that's great. I was also remarking on the fact that you're so willing to berate a series which you know nothing about. And yes, "sparkly vampires" is the factor that you bring up as to why you don't like this series and everything else you have mentioned has no great significance in the books themselves. This dynamic makes me skeptical and aggravated because you don't even bother to understand what you're rejecting.

The point is this: do whatever the hell you want. I'll just continue to shake my head because people are so quick to assume, to judge, and to act. If you want to not like something because of what you've heard other people say then that's fine. Do what you want.

    1:That vampire is sparkling.
2:That is not how I think vampires should look.

    Fixed.

Blackwing, if you're refusing to read this book because you think the Twilight world revolves around this pivotal factor then you really should stop arguing. I'm not trying to instigate anything, but the point that that is even in the book is to show the dichotomy of reality and myth. I would also like to point out that the vampire only shines in sunlight. This story is located in the wettest place in the continental US where it is under constant cloud-cover, so there is just about zero sparkling in the entire series.

You don't like how an archetype is tweaked? Well that's narrow-mindedness for you. The argument "I don't like this one aspect so the entire series sucks" is ludicrous. I don't see you harping on how Underworld tweaked Vampires or Blade. There is no one "end-all be-all" of anything. The limits to these fictional characters are limited only by one's imagination.

Where did you find this info?

Magic Find is a global modifer that applies to all item drops that can exist as Uniques, sets and rares and improves the chance of any given dropped item to be of a certain type. It doesn't care what the actual treasureclass is, since it only checks the item and not the treasureclass.

The countess obviously doesn't get an increase since runes are unaffected by MF.

The countess has special loot tables for her rune drops, but she also has loot like any other monster as a previous post has stated. However, boss loot is ONLY boss loot. They are not on the same loot tables as the monsters, thus their drops have different mechanics. The mechanics that they follow are based on the same vein as that of the special rune drops.

I'll have to sift through years and years of discussion and notes about the game, but that is the bottom line.

As a side note, this is why Shenk/Pindle/Eldritch runs are the best way to get more consistent loot. These monsters are affected by your Magic Find percentages. Bosses have a higher chance to drop unique loot than monsters do, but it becomes more time-effective to fight super-unique monsters (like Eldritch, etc) for your magic find runs.

However, I think it's best to bring the discussion back to the Bestiary.

I have to say that, although I've never read twilight, it looks absolutely horrible and i never intend to read the books or see the movie.

    I mean, a sparkly vampire?!?!

T_T twilight totally makes vampires not cool!!

Vampires are supposed to be afraid of the sun and suck peoples blood ruthlessly, not pathetic love-sick puppies.

What happened to the awesome, evil, bestial vampire?
Vampires used to be fun and interesting, now they're lame preppy boys who have odd sparkling skin disorders.

that's just my opinion though ^_^

I truly mean no offense by this, but it's absurd to base your opinions on fabricated assumptions. This is a perfect example of opinions based on misinformation and, in all honesty, is rather upsetting.

People are so quick to jump on anything they hear - they're fickle at best. There is plenty of what people see as the basic archetype for vampires in the novels with a few twists that make it unique. This, perhaps, is a bit more of a trivial thing that most people don't give a lot of thought about, but the opinion you've made about the series isn't even based on what the series is actually about or what it has in it.
