that game looks terrible. besides the fact that it's obviously a huge rip from diablo II, the graphics don't appeal to me at all. i'm honestly extremely happy with how diablo III is looking so far.
He seemed more than sure that the game was over 50% done, which leads me to believe they have to be AT LEAST 70% done with it. I say with a few more implementations and tweaks, we will be looking at a beta fairly soon.
well, i'm not going to be stating anything new here since you all know as much as i do, but i think about it like this:
at this blizzcon, they released the final class meaning all classes are revealed. there is nothing else to be shown in that area. also, they announced how PVP is going to work. they also announced the talisman and other smaller features of the game. what else are we still waiting for? when blizzcon comes around next year, they aren't going to have huge announcements for the game like they have at all of the past blizzcons. wilson mentioned that a beta will come out roughly 6 months before release. right when we thought it was over, we were told 1000 people that attended blizzcon will be receiving beta keys. that's a huge step forward when i think about it. yes, that doesn't mean it will be coming any time soon, but it definitely gives hope that it may possibly be sooner than later. another thing that was mentioned is that the game is definitely playable from start to end, though some bosses aren't entirely functional. They still have some things to work on, bigger and smaller, but they are definitely nearing the point of completion a lot sooner than we may think.
tl;dr: i think blizzard isn't going to let us down with a 2011 release date, and that we can definitely expect a beta to start roughly the middle of next year.
c'mon guys. yes, the first thing that came to mind was WoW, but this IS a different game... obviously. and it's not like it's going to be extremely easy to get to 60. i'm sure it will take a good amount of time, especially with everyone not knowing the game from the start. i think the level 60 cap is a solid max level. just reading this made me even more excited for the game.
like a lot of people on here, i don't think i'll be playing single player. it's so much more fun to be playing with others. i've always found it to be somewhat hard too. maybe i'm just used to rushing through d2 that i don't have the patience? if they add something to single player that multiplayer won't have, then possibly.
i do believe it affects the way they designed it ( not the engine but more the graphics and stuff ). It is such a popular game tho.

yeh i totally agree with nemesis. Its just Battle.net. They havent charged with the current battle.net. I wouldnt mind paying something either, like maybe $60 for a whole year like it is for Xbox live.
i must agree that it should be a bit darker and grunger looking. Blood stains on the walls, etc. Im sure the music background will make up for it though, and i do believe it looks fine how it is aswell. :B Whichever way they go with it, i am still going to be just as excited to play.
on that 52 min. interview video or whatever they did say they were about 5x% done with the game. They also said they have been working on it for about 4 years now. So if it took 4 years for about 50%.... then...... :-/ Hopefully the next half of the game doesnt take as long to complete. They did have to create the new engine its using and stuff so thats probably what took up a lot of time.
