As long as you haven't geared up specifically for force armor exploitation, I don't think the possible incoming nerf will ruin either of these builds. Your summation sounds about right to me.. well, there's a lot of interchangeability between what skills people are using, but still. Count me in as a magic weapon disintegrator.

Actually that health seems low for that level. I had 11K at that time. Yeah, the potions don't heal for much, but they can get you out of tight spots. trying to lower your HP just so your potions look more useful is definitely not a strategy I would recommend.

I'm also kind of surprised you're making it through with DPS that low. have you used the auction house to look for gear at all, or are you only using things you find yourself?

posted a message on DPS way too high? (normal)
As has been said before... Normal difficulty is basically balanced for someone totally new to the game with lousy gear to still be able to beat it. I understand the mentality that you don't want to rush through, but right now you're overleveled and overgeared for everything in normal. If you wanted more of a challenge you should've saved the AH for higher difficulties. I'm sure you will find more of a challenge at some points through nightmare. Once you get to hell, and especially inferno, you'll find even with the most ridiculous gear you can afford from the AH you'll get your ass handed to you a lot.

So yeah. The challenge is there. Blizzard just didn't want to make it so that new players were totally turned off by the game because of a very hard first difficulty. Try hardcore if you want some added difficulty.

Also, something I've noticed on the wizard especially.. it's pretty easy to get a high DPS, kill everything onscreen, and feel godlike, but the second your gear gets just a little outdated you're gonna get creamed. Other classes stay a bit more consistent I think,

I use Archon a lot, I think it's pretty awesome. I'm level 48 toward the end of Nightmare, it always gets me out of tight spots. True, you have no defensive power, but I usually kill everything so quickly defense is unnecessary.

I haven't used Blizzard or Meteor much at all. Explosive blast was useful for awhile but I've changed my build around and definitely don't see the point anymore.

Maybe they don't want a buyout on their item but don't realize you don't have to put any number there.

Maybe they've got nothing better to do with their 10 selling slots and just want to give people a laugh.

It helps to mouse over the item you need to get the name of it.

The item you need is a 'Page of jewelcrafting". there's a similar looking page for Blacksmithing, perhaps that's what you found.

I'm still in normal, I haven't found any. But I bought some on the auction house, they're pretty cheap. I hear they're pretty common in nightmare.

Honestly it took me awhile to find too, I assumed it was under 'details'. Felt stupid once I found it.

Heh, yeah. The suggested items the Auction House lists are hilarious too.. always like 100,000K +. It's like.. dude, can't it tell how much gold I have? Why recommend something I don't even have 1/10th the gold for.

You don't even click on details, it should be right there on your inventory screen in a list to the left of your armor.

Something finally makes sense to me. I don't know why I didn't see it before.

When people say "This game doesn't feel like Diablo", it's really just nerdy hipsterism. Nothing popular may be cool. Only extremely obscure things may be both cool and new, and the moment someone else loves them, they stop being cool.
Diablo II held a world record for being the fastest selling computer game ever at the time. Diablo has always been a huge and wildly popular series, so I don't think your 'hipster' argument really applies.

Really, when people say the game doesn't feel like diablo, it is probably for one of two reasons:

    1. It doesn't feel like Diablo to them. Maybe they played the diablo games in a different way than you, and maybe
they felt something you didn't while playing them, and perhaps that truly is not present when they play diablo III. So what? Doesn't stop you from enjoying the game.

    2. they don't actually remember what playing Diablo felt like.

slightly disappointed. an 8/10 on a scale of 10 stars for the game. My biggest problem so far (just killed skeleton king) is it seems a rehash of other diablo games both 1 and 2. Enemies come back that you already killed. Den of the falling is back. Just feel that the game should have had more new stuff. Maybe it will in act 2-4.
Just killed the skeleton king.. so you've been playing 1-2 hours? And you're making these judgements already?
Also, Den of the Falling might be a reference or a nod to something but i don't think it actually appeared in another game.

Sure, some characters reappear.. but personally, I like that. There are lots of new characters too (Angels? Belial, Azmodan?).

Heh, same here. When I'm at work I just sit around thinking about the game. When I'm at home I just play the game nonstop. Will probably die of sleep deprivation sometime soon.

My biggest fear was that the game wasn't going to feel like a Diablo game to me.

I know it didn't look like Diablo (although I think it does look amazing)

Removing the ability to pick your attributes and what skills to level was one of my favorite aspects of diablo

So I was pessimistic for awhile. Not enough so to stop me from getting the game. But when I actually started playing - I'll be damned if it didn't feel like Diablo.

There are certain changes I really dislike, but overall I love the game, and it gives me the same feelings of excitement as past Diablo games.

This only happens with Blizzard titles.
Not really. This only happens with online games that are wildly popular enough to warrant such a ridiculous zerg rush on the game's servers.

And Blizzard happens to make games that are pretty popular.
