Yes, he did. He made the screenshot with extra RAIN in it. That's a statement that adding rain makes the game more Diabloesque. He also said that a game is more immersive if it is dark. So I suppose he feels like rain helps a game become more immersive,...which is funny. I guess I'm not trying to be funny. It is just funny how people think sometimes once you lay out what they are really saying for all to see.
i tried to say that he didnt want to be rain everywhere in the game, he just felt like doing a rainy scene, but his main and onl goal is to make it dark

Adding more rain is an environment choice for a certain part of the game. More rain does not equal more Diablo.

At that part of the games story does it really require more rain? Does more rain make a game more immersive?

    Such trivial complaints.
you are trying to be funny right? he never said that diablo = rain, ever.

turinign down brightness wont make 3d models like furniture and armor to look decently realisticaly sized

So instead of having colour, you're fine with having a very bland dungeon? And by realistic, you mean having textures on walls look like someone used the sponge tool to extract colour leaving shades of gray? What is there to immerse in if nothing can grab your attention as a focal point and having a very monotonous dungeon with repretitive gray textures? I think it'd feel completely distant, contrary to your 'immersion.'
the photoshops are very far from the ideal, but doing immersive, realistc, full of details 3d enviroments IS possible... and i do belive games needs color, but the way they did with the tristram cathedral is so cheap and awfully done i think its also very far from what we will get in the final. So both version are boring (3 years old look) IMO but i would rather have everything gray than everything green. None of these colors are superior or inferior to one another, but in a dungeon gray makes a hell alot more sense........
my point is that the green version is just as bland as the photoshop

Looks very gray and bland. Did you have fun with that sponge and burn tool in photoshop? It doesn't give the dungeon a feel to it either because it's all monochromatic. Would you like to see that dungeon all mundane and boring as you traverse and delve deeper and deeper? People argue the green lighting is too much, but here you basically use the sponge tool to desaturate the image as if technicolor was never invented.
nah i would rather it greeeeeen everywhere!

come on, its absolutely the same thing with the diference on the ONLY one color choice
its like all green or all gray
personaly i would go for the immersive/realistic way

i simply love how monstere seems to have some sort of respawner, or they just get in like those climbing in the start of the video gameplay
it was weird how all sorts of monsters would be hanging around in a room waiting still forever

my god what is a henchmen?

    edit. ok, mercenarie

yea, more costumization, but not to the point of him being as strong/usefull as another player, they should just be a summon creature for classes that cant do it by magic

I sense the sarcasm. Cartoon graphics are not defined by shoulder pad to nipple contact. Cel-shading is the epitome of cartoon graphics in games. Diablo 3 is on the realistic side of the spectrum. The characters are realistically proportioned, no bold black outlines, physical details such as veins, wrinkles, etc.
how do you want me to call this style of blocky and oversized geometry?

    Quote from name="Uber Dudditz" »
Well you certainly don't want to lose those nipples, now do you?
    lawl
just leave them to body armor

or maybe blizzard needs to study some anatomy :P

So far I have seen no substantial similarities to WoW. Therefore asking "what if there are more" has little basis.

Thats mostly because of the conversion to full 3d than anything. There is more Character detail so technically it is less cartoony than D2.
shoulder pads that are so big tha protect your nipples are definetly not cartoony

Perhaps the most burning question is: how would you design the other levels to make them different? It's all well and good redesigning on level (screenshot) but could you make a whole game interesting to look at?
of course, you dont expect a forest to be gray, do you? (just one example)

    That's a given too.

But then again I don't think that game had controversy over it's art direction, seeing as how that's pretty much set in stone considering it's a realistic racing game.

Still, that's not the way it always works out with more complex games, so there's always going to be ones who are disappointed.
true, but i dont think part of the fan base(majority http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10294) should be the ones dissapointed
