Ok, so I'll preface this by saying that I'm really interested in the melee demon hunter, and looking forward to what I anticipate will be a much more engaged play style than what we've seen heretofore (i.e. Marauder's Hide&Fire, UE Stand back and blast).
My one major concern at this point is that a DH can't dual wield, and the only off-hand we're allowed is a shield, for which we have no use. I'm of the opinion that in 2.4 a change be made so that DH can retain a quiver (i.e. Spines/Emimei's Duffel) regardless of what we have equipped as a weapon, or even better, we be allowed to DW 1-hand swords/daggers.
I haven't seen any mention by the Devs regarding a change to the basic DH mechanic, so I presume that we will be left with a "sword & board" but I think this is counter to the "assassin" style concept that Blizzard is going for with this Set.
Mod Edit: i moved you post since this discussion is happening here and doesn't need a new thread. Also the answer about what a melee DH will be able to equip is 2 posts above
I can get about 5 minutes of game time... just enough to enter a rift/grift before I get DC'ed and sent back to the log in screen (I get an Error 3005 or 3007 or both).
Apologies in advance if this is a redundant post but all of the feedback I've been seeing regarding the rolling disconnects reference games on the PTR Server - am I the only one who has experienced this on the live servers? Started last night ~6:00pm PT.
In the words of the great philosopher Maimonides, "damn." I guess I'm forced to work a little harder than anticipated. It is weird transitioning back to not being able to melt through T6. Thanks for the input, all. I'm just going to pray to the RNGods that my luck turns back around soon
t4/5 until i close a couple of gear gaps. That shouldn't matter though, should it? I mean, i had consistent drops doing T1-3 rifts before I had any decent gear at all.
I'm curious, did I miss a blue post about trial keystones no longer dropping, or did RNG just turn its back on me? I apologize if I'm late to the party, but I haven't had a keystone drop in at least 15 rifts in a row. Kind of annoying because I was levelling up gems in seasons and it'd be nice to access Grifts...
Thanks, I appreciate the offer! I actually hit 70 that evening; 67-70 is definitely the biggest pain in the ass. Unfortunately for now I'm relegated to solo because I'm using old hardware with low processor speed and have no comm setup atm.
Just briefly wanted to ask the community, am I the only person who farms low torment levels prior to reaching lvl 60? I've noticed a few streamers say that T1 and higher are only available after level 60, which would appear to be incorrect. I could understand that folks might say its not efficient but with a few legendaries its a snap and gives a huge exp boost. I had started doing this to get some after thought characters to 70 (barb, wiz) and was late to the season 3 game and just started last night, but farming torment has gotten me to 57 in just a couple of hours. Is there a reason people avoid this method?
Originally, I bought my MBP because I use it out in the field and it was my only computer - I started playing D3 way after I bought the laptop and just never upgraded. I just like having one computer that can go with me wherever. It sounds like gaming is just a label applied to higher performance machines. I'm not done my research but I plan on keeping this thread going and hopefully folks continue to be as thoughtful and informative as they have thus far proven to be.
Thanks for the clarification - my concern was simply that, as with a lot of other marketing, slapping "gaming" and a glowing keyboard on a computer would bump the price a few hundred dollars. If the common understanding is that these are simply high-performance machines, regardless of their application, then consider me convinced. I suppose that processor output/performance is fairly objective and therefore not subject to the same marketing shenanigans that a lot of other products get. I only want to make sure I'm investing intelligently - this is all very enlightening
I do environmental consulting work, and I review a lot of digital USGS topo-maps which do require a good bit of rendering depending on the detail of the map. Generally speaking though its mostly word-processing, digital map reading and stats analysis (just excel mostly). I'm looking into working with more active GIS digital mapping and that will require better processor speeds but I'll probably dedicate a desktop for that work in the future if an when I get there.
I apologize if you end up repeating yourself - I'm learning that I should have paid more attention to the tech when I was just coasting on borrowed time.

Bumping this, because I'm still getting terminated on the live servers and am sick of burning time at the UI logging in.

I have been playing since vanilla, and have never had an Andariel's Visage drop.

I would also like to state, for the record, that I am supremely bummed that I won't be able to jump on 2.2.0 when I get home this afternoon.
