Cain is an old man in diablo. id say 60-70. and diablo 2 takes place just about right after diablo 1 ends so not much aging there. but then 20 years after diablo 2, he's still around and not senile! (from what ive seen)

dont get me wrong i like the consistancy of deckard Cain through all three games, im just trying to figure out how old this dude is!

    He is old.

My grandfather lived to be 90 something, and he wasn't remotely senile. He didn't move around much though.

But then again, not everyone is an uneducated trailer trash who has no standards...

"An uneducated trailer trash" should either be "an uneducated piece of trailer trash", or "uneducated trailer trash".

wanna wait another 2 years for the game?

Nope. I don't. Everyone can say what they want about waiting 2, 4, 6 years for the game to be perfect, but I don't know I would even be playing video games in 4 years. Thats a long ass time. Hell, in 4 years, I could have gone back to and finished school, joined the peace core, and be back from my first 2 years of service. Like I said, 4 years is a long time.

as devs said- what about the direction of spells, etc? How are you going to throw the witch doctor bomb thing? Just blatantly aim it somewhere?

Either Targeting enemies, or using the the right analog stick.

Just take a look at the countless mods made in an attempt to fix things like goofy massive UI etc, menu systems hobbled to work on xbox etc. Not to mention some of the strange decisions that seem to have been made to make it work on consoles such as the cities being separate world spaces etc. This has been covered many times over there and there were a LOT of people rather angered by it, but is not really a discussion for these forums!

Ahhhh, got it. Yeah, I remember the shit with the cities. I leveled up my Acrobatics, and from a hill managed to jump over the wall of the city and walk around a bunch of low poly buildings.

I actually think that this is a good idea. That is very rare. I do not know what the logic would be for forgetting skills, and being able to get another skill, or suddenly losing 100 Magic and suddenly gaining 100 Strength, but... I would much like to see this implemented in DIII.

I was an economics minor before I dropped out. :)

It would so much that you wouldn't be able to make huge shifts like that. It would be more gears towards smaller tweaks.

For the Stats, say you picked up an item that would be great, but you don't have enough strength to use it, and won't for 3-4 levels. This gives you a chance to get there all the much sooner.

Skill respecs, sometimes you hit a hard patch, and need a new, or stronger skill to get through it. Simple shit.

there is no way they are goin to put d3 on console guys its got too much stuff going on. there arn't enought buttons to use the "hotbar" plus how would you pick up items or anything.

No vision. Hold Down L1(or LB). Now, Press X(or A), Circle(or X), Triangle(or Y), or Square(B). There is your hot bar.

As for picking up items, just press down on the D-Pad when you are by it.

Target enemies with L2(LT) and R2(RT) buttons.

Move around with the Left Analog Stick. Press X(A) and Circle(B) for left/right click attacks

It's not even a remotely hard game to port.

don't mind me, I am still pissed off about Oblivion ;)

I only played it on the 360, and thought it was amazing. Was is worse than Morrowind on PC?

I thought the quests were about 50,000 times better in Oblivion. I quite playing morrowind when I got the quest "Collect 3 cure blight potions and bring them back to me." What Bullshit.

But put it on a hand-held... Nintendo DS Diablo III that would be awesome!

The DS is way to week to handle a real diablo III. Even though the Zelda was great on the DS, it real didn't have the "100 enemies at once" gameplay.

If they port it to consoles later and make don't even take the console version into consideration when making the PC version than I couldn't care less. However if they sacrifice PC gameplay to make it work on the console then I will be very unhappy.

While agree, with what you've said, a lot of times games end up better when they are designed with consoles in mind. All of the stream-lining that you have do to make a game playable on a console, makes the game better(most of the time).

I however, don't think diablo is one of those games.

if it works for WoW does it mean it'll work for D3?

Not really. Different games. As I understand it, WoW isn't as item dependent as Diablo.

[b]My take on the Economic of Diablo[b]

There was a huge problem with the economy in diablo II, gold was worthless. But it wasn't worthless because there was too much of it, it was worthless because it served no purpose.

So, to fix this problem, while retaining the treasure hunt aspects and the majority of the gameplay, I suggest that npc's offer high cost, desirable services, that anyone would want.

Some Services they could and/or should offer :

    Horadric Cube Use
    Expanding your stash size
    Socketing Items
    clearing sockets
    Respecing Stats
    Respecing Skills

Obviously, these would be priced in a way that prevented you for exploiting any of them. Against my better judgement, I'm going to wait for someone to attack me before I defend my stance on this topic.

You know, I was terrified when I built it all of the way, just to learn that the pieces didn't slide down if you cleared lines below them. It fucked up my game(I'm a tetris god, i made it to lvl 18 on the NES).

Umm... I would have to disagree. When you're building your character you already know the outline of what you want your character to be so no real thinking involved. Diablo and math are very different things... so I see no correlation.

Yeah, but playing music helps you with math, which has math about at the same level of diablo. So, who knows. I doubt it though.
