you noobs. Lets make D3 soo dark that you can't even see, that will be nice.

So let me get this straight, People that have been playing the games for years, and are concerned that the graphics are out of touch with the other games, are noobs? Despite the fact they've played the other games? For years?

common sense goes a long way....

    THERE ARE COOLDOWNS!!

if you watch the video in full screen or a high res so its almost full screen

when the barbarian uses the ground stomp stun ability you can see it become grey and slowly the color comes back in a clockwise pattern = COOLDOWNS

only like 5 secs tho so no big worries yet !!

    I counted, it was like 10. :P

I have mixed feelings about cool down. It one way to balance skills. And it make sense with how they said they went about designing the game(you can never have too much power). I don't really like it though. It seems like a cheap, easy way to balance the game.

It makes sense. They have the skill hot bar now. They are trying to make you use a combination of your a bunch of your different skills. Cooldown times only add to that, as well as being a way to nerf more powerful spells without making the "weaker" or costing more mana.

posted a message on With such nice graphics, should they eliminate the 3rd person camera?
Isometric camera is one of the defining points of diablo. Also, its vital the to the "point&click" gameplay. If you switch to an over the should, rotating 3rd person, or first person view, you would have to completely rework the controls.

Actually it will have nothing to do with people who post here, when they pick people for a beta they are looking for the widest range of computer specs. So they can get a feel for how the game will run.

Oh man, I use a mac. That has to boost my chances getting in.

And the 15 bucks a month for wow go towards better servers and the development on content. Why not pay and get regular updates on items, bosses, levels, etc instead of waiting months for the next patch

Because other companies do frequent updates without a fee. I really, really, don't feel like a few would help contribute to those sort of updates. I feel like the "M" rating is going to to do much more to keep little kids from the playing the games than anything else.

Plus it goes against most of my ethics, which i understand doesn't mean a damn thing to anyone else but me. But I do believe that you shouldn't charge people for anything that you don't need to.

I know there are a couple of computer artists on here, most of them agreeing that they didn't like the look of DIII.

So I have a question For all for all of the artists on here :

Are any of you going to apply for the job openings relating to diablo III?

just curious. Lets try to keep shit civil.

Lol I'm not reading the entire thread. I don't need too. I'm just saying what I think and that's all that needs to be said.

Any why would you? There's no reason to read 7 pages of people agreeing with you.

And how are they stupid. Weekly updates to the game to make it more enjoyable and solid is stupid? Wanting to play with people that are actually mature is stupid?

They are stupid because they don't make any sense, and don't work.

It's like saying "I'm hungry. I guess I'll go watch TV."

I never said make it like wow. Please, point out where i said that.

    Wait you cant.

So you want to charge for a fee for a game that doesn't even have the overhead costs that an MMORPG? I guess If I was blizzard I would consider it. I mean, c'mon. $15 a month, for free?

    SHUT THE FUCK UP.

blizzard doesn't need your $15. If you feel like you NEED to give your $15 a month, www.kiva.org. Save for a year, and put it in there.

No monthly fee. All of your reasons for it are stupid.

Valve does weekly updates to most of their games, without a subscription fee. It seems like more little kids play wow than ever played diablo II(per capita). So you're too arguments for Subscription are null and void.

And as for the $15, stfu. You have not right, room, or credentials to comment on what other people can or can't afford. Why don't you save your $15 a month, and give it to a worthwhile cause.

I think it doesn't really matter witch system they pick for variation in char's. There will always be cookiecutter builds, and there will be a lot of those.

Here's how you can look at it : The more different cookie-cutter builds there are, the most balances the skills are.

As for the limits the skill Level, I could see 10 being the max for something like masteries. Think about it, you're an axe Barb, you max your axe mastery at 10. Then you have an extra 10 points to place.

Exactly what part of the gameplay are you talking about? The part where you screw up and start over from scratch, and get your friends hammerdin to rush you? Thats not good gameplay IMO, in fact, I'm only paying half attention to the game at that point because thats all i need to. It's grind.

Needing exp to do it is an interesting idea, and would depend largely on how leveling up in general works in D3. As for gold, yeah, making it obscenely expensive is fine.

Planning your character. That was a huge part of the game for a lot of people.

I don't really care either, because I'm certain they would pick whatever they felt kept the gameplay most balanced. Idealy, you would be able to make reasonable tweaks through out. If it is implemented, I would like to see it cost exp, or if gold isn't worthless and huge amount of gold.

In fact, thats a way to control the economy. If you charge gold for respecs anding sockets to items(and anything else you could think of), you would in effect, make gold not worthless.

So...since nighttime in D1 looks dark D3 should be dark during daytime? Ok...

Not to mention the King was already corrupted etc when you first enter D1 so yea, your argument is bullshit, there was plenty of evil going on, with Diablo under the cathedral, the King going crazy and whatnot.

OK, check it out, I'm going to rock your world. The developers said that Sanctuary is such an evil place, that no know really noticed the prim evils died, because the place is consistently evil(Paraphrased exaggerated slightly.)

Now to my real point : can we just forgo the continuity in the lore argument? No matter how you slice it, it just sounds like people trying to make sense of plot holes in bad movies.
