I'd like to see the druid return. I think he was one of the most unique and fun to play chars, along with the assassin. Need to balance the skills though, half of the Druids skills in D2 were very lackluster, but great concepts!
To start off I would like to mention a new addition to the barbarians gameplay. The rage globe. If you have seen the gameplay trailer, you likely noticed the teal globe where the oldschool blue mana globe used to be. This is the rage globe. I welcome this addition to the barbarian as it will likely give way to more dimensional melee fighting and more tactical use of skills.
Are you sure it's a rage globe? I saw stat points on some of the skills for both "fury" and "stamina". Fury wasn't previously in Diablo and stamina used to only be for running. Where are you getting that it's a "rage globe"? Is it something taken from WoW?
I could deal with maybe having cannons in select areas. The siege of a town, like D2's Harragoth, could incorporate cannons that you could manually fire to help clear areas of masses of demons, or blow open a new entrance in terrain. However, something like this could also be done with basic siege weapons as well. Just saying I wouldn't have a problem with the idea...as long as it was only limited to cannons in a VERY select amount of areas.
Necromancers are a solid point in the lore. If not at least a playable character class, I'm positive we will be seeing Necromancer NPC's in various parts of the game.
Sharing a stash between multiple accounts will not be possible, unless all of the accounts were tied to the same main user-name, which defeats the purpose for multiple accounts to begin with.
Now, sharing a stash for all created characters on the SAME account is very reasonable, and I'm fairly positive will be implemented in the game. A way to share items between accounts could be a mail system, where you can mail items to a given character name (this system works very well in HG:L, except for the occasional glitch)
^ As you age, you gain wisdom, and your mind becomes more developed. That being said, youth brings quick reaction time and quick critical thinking.
Another point...how is the ESRB rating irrelevant, it makes it ILLEGAL for a child under the age of 17 to purchase an M rated game without a parent's consent.
Yes, there are many children mature enough to handle games. I'm sure you are, and I was one as well. But there are a minority who aren't. That is what the rating is for. It is undeniable that the line has to be drawn somewhere, and the age of 17 was the consensus of the big guns in Washington of where that line would be drawn.
I really don't think this is the type of game that really needs voice chat. You don't need to coordinate strategies, and talk things out. I cannot think of one time during my play of D2 where I wanted to actually speak to someone, unless it was one of my close friends in the game...in which case I could just stay on a vent server with.
Also, having to constantly use a headset when playing D2 in groups b/c everyone else is using one and dont feel like typing would get rather annoying.
I don't think binding is the solution. Instead, go the route that HG:L has currency wise. Creat more gold sinks.
To do this:
-Add expensive, but USEFUL items that can be bought from vendors.
-Allow items to be "imbued" more frequently, through the use of gold. The amount of gold used would be based on item level and quality (magic, rare, uniq)
-Add a consignment shop based on gold
-Lower the amount of gold able to be to aquired in a span of time (lower than D2)
-Add a respec option that requires gold to utilize. The amount needed would be based on level.
-Keep the mercenary system of needing gold to revive them
I know, "HGL was horrible" yada yada. The game actually has a plethora of amazing ideas, the game just suffered from being rushed, poorly coded, and underfunded.
Runs should still exist, but mass teleport (ala nigma and sorcs) and MH should not be possible. Runs should still be a slight challenge. It shouldn't be possible to get to the core of the run in less than 15 seconds without some type of obstacle.
I read your post quite thoroughly, and understand what you are getting at entirely.
That being said...This is not WoW. This game is about hacking slashing monsters with a vivid amount of ferocity and gore. Not spending an hour and a half attacking the same monster with a group ofother players spamming "OMG GIEV HEAL NOWZ! O SHIT I DED! REZZ ME NUB!"
