Last time i checked "someone saying something" (especially PR) doesn't defeat how a trailer looks.
Err. That was a response to your response on Rukahs "I think the game will look darker" post, to which you replied was a baseless assumption. Honestly, if you're discrediting an actual Blizzard person then what do you consider valid information?
Still sounds like unbased assumptions, oh wait, it is.
Seriously, for the last time, why simply not base your arguments on, you know, actual information. Wait let me think where we can find this "information", oh yea thats right, the trailer!
I'm getting tired.
Blizzard already said they're going for more variety in the environments. That + Diablo = Darker. It's not baseless at all.
It's also just as illogical to assume that the very first footage and early build of the game is representative of the final product.
Circumstantially, it's very probable that it is one of those "this is what we have, take a look" trailers. No one is debating that the concern is void at all.
The thing with arguing; denying the existence of a higher power is that the HIGHER POWER card always plays out.
"How can human beings even hope to fathom the workings of a beyond-beyondness entity? For all we know our physics and atoms were made simply for shits and giggles. Dinosaurs were put on Earth to test our faith!"
(Okay, the last bit was aimed more towards established Religious schools.)
But outside the popular faiths we have today, where it's easy to disprove based on evidence on particular events provided by their own teachings, the belief of a God, in general, is hard to dispute.
"God doesn't exist is because Man-made laws and rules indicate otherwise?
He's God. His rules are the only rules."
And yes, you can say this isn't a proper argument, but in my opinion it is. In fact, if we must assume that God plays within the boundaries of Human sciences then what kind of God is he? Still, we must confine to the rules of logical thinking and scientific method etc. Or else shit won't get done.
At a stretch it'd be some super advanced being, but nothing close to the cosmic, omnipotent beyondness with an inexplicable tendency to prey upon the Human race 'too much.'
This quote pains me greatly and I'll tell you why. How long corpses stick around should be a choice in the options. Since it is apparent that corpses play no role in the combat in this game (A shame... no potion finding, corpse explosions, summoning creatures from them, etc) then it should be an option. Most FPS have this option (HL2 does) and other action rpg's do as well.
Titan Quest, an amazing looking action RPG somehow manages to have corpses stay on the ground for a longer than needed amount of time. 3d corpses that respond to physics. Even with the XmaX mod (gives you up to 10 times as many monsters to fight when the spawn allows it... usually x4 though) the lag from corpses is non existant even on 4-5 year old rigs.
The entire issue, at least for me, is that something that other games have done easily can't be done in D3 for whatever reason. To make something trivial like this seem like a big deal, they simply haven't chosen to make it an option.
If I can play TQ with XmaX mod on my 4-5 year old computer, I can run D3 on the same computer without issue with the corpses staying forever.
Yeah, kind of sad that corpses aren't implemented in gameplay at all. The said it should be an option... It's simple graphical tuning. Set decal limit to 1000, cl_corpsestay 1... Etc. Other than that, why not making it so corpses disappear once they're out of your line of sight?
The problem is the official forums are a cesspool. You have to wade through post after post of people whining about something that already been mentioned 1000x. Then you have to deal with the jackholes that flood the forums while Bashiok is away. I think I'm just going there to see if there are any new blue posts. I figure if it was coherant enough for Bashiok to reply to then thats something worth looking at.
Their forums are garbage.
And of course they don't pay someone to look at every single post on every fansite, but it's likely that they do check every once in a while. At the very least, our concerns get their attention... somehow.
Immersion is a state, many achieve it by feeling like their character, what they see, do, hear. Anything can lead up to this, it probably no doubt varies from person to person but it certainly exists.
No game is 100% immersing, but the closer you are the better. Unless your game happens to be The Texas Chainsaw massacre etc.
As for the HUD, it's smaller. I get more screen time. That's a win on my part.
On-topic. For game play interface purposes, this is much nicer. Even more convenient to not have to focus on the top of your screen, rather than the actual foe. And it probably helps considering the combat is so dynamic now.

And he's a Producer, not a Public Representative.

Sounds like you've misinterpreted, sorry.

I really hope Blizzard does 'open up the world' a little bit. Hopefully in a way that isn't over or underwhelming.

Hell, I feel pathetic responding.
