That would ruin the game... this is diablo, the only safe place is offline. I do agree with the arena and betting but diablo is about killing other people!!! I can still remember the shivers of when the hostile ring sounded in a HC game.

They can and should implement some sort of honor system, much like WoW, you kill people outside the arena and you get negative honor (which give you access to some sort of item, gold, whatever), you kill someone with negative honor and you get other type of rewards.

Yeah, I think hostility should still be allowed. But if fighting were allowed in arenas I think it would drastically change the way players would want to battle each other.

the mouse is a necessary component to diablo. If the xbox or ps3 had a mouse then maybe. But still, I'm gonna play on my computer.

An arena would be pretty cool. I could see myself watching fights and betting some gold/items on a winner.

I was thinking that only players who participate in duels would be able to place bets. But the idea of an audience that could interact in the betting process is a good idea.

I think the pally was very different from the barb because the auras/spells against undead made him unique. They may change his name but the basic idea of the class will remain. Too bad for the necro though. The Witchdoctor had that zombie wall so I don't see where the necro would be much different.

Well they have to bring back the pally. I mean he was so different from the other classes in d2. He had his light spells, all those auras, and physical attacks. He has to come back.

You're definitely right. The Diablo games have always had a grittiness to it that set a characteristic atmosphere. However, lets not forget that this game is in its early phases and could look drastically different when it reaches its final stages.

Well I was thinking that in each town there should be an arena that players could go into and place bets and afterward fight. Each town should have an arena with different obstacles/ traps to keep things interesting. I don't think you need two separate games. This would be an alternative to trading. It would be in all games in the towns.

Who can remember challenging someone to a duel in Diablo 2? As much as it was exhilarating the system had its share of problems. There was no system in place to ensure a fair fight. The use of pots for health and mana could occur. And lets not forget the old run into town routine. Things must improve for Diablo 3! In every town there should be a colloseum/arena thats lets players set parameters for dueling and placing bets with items/gold. I think an arena would expand the item market by allowing players not only to trade for items they need, but also to bet and fight for items. Think of the possibilities! Share your ideas.

man whats the fun in that? There needs to be some shared loot. Part of the fun of Diablo II was chasing after drops!

Part of the fun? It was more the pain of seeing a barb take an item you needed. Those damn Barbs... they had everything.
