If you use firefox, particularly with noscript it acts like you don't have the plug in...Quote from "italofoca" »Can someone PLEASE post a link to a scripted version of this interview ???
I really can`t install the plug in =(
I just coppied it into IE and it worked fine.
If you ARE trying it in IE then I have no idea sorry.
On topic, lots of interesting info coming out of their europe trip. I love it. -
Aug 29, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plWell the runes had already been figured out... there was the rune from frostmourne (warcraft), the hel rune (diablo), something from starcraft... the symbol that was on the cover of Pax Eternia (and OOOLLLLD blizzard game) and something from the lost vikings... can't remember.Posted in: News
But basically it was the core 5 gameing franchizes they had worked on. -
Aug 29, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plWow that was really good. Good old poles.Posted in: News
Interesting info about the AI. But most of the info isn't very useful until we get some hands on experience from people at say blizzcon or something. -

Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablofans - WWI Card Tyrael Pet ContestMy idea/suggestion is to do with trading. Personally the idea isn't very original as it basically involves taking the item link system directly from wow.Posted in: News
I still play Diablo 2 and the one thing that continually frustrates me is that you are basically expected to know the entire item database off by heart as you cannot link items, or inspect people to see what they are wearing, in other words you can only show other people either your gear or what you have to trade by opening trade with someone. The ability to link items in chat, or at least directly to a person through whispers would greatly help. Particularly with the nature of Diablo's items usually having multiple random modifiers that means one Buriza is not as good as another.
So my suggestion is to allow the use of item links, whether through any conversation or through whispers, or any other method. -
Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plYou going to post part 2 in the OP or at the end? Or make a new thread even? I'm curious what more could be covered that hasn't in the past interviews.Posted in: News

Aug 24, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Jay Wilson Interview for www.grytv.plOh sweet I like the idea that there are some towns that will get invaded by demons... It would be sweet to defend a siege with some mates and NPC's.Posted in: News
Checkpoints is interesting but needs more clarification. I like how they are changing things up, and not just making Diablo 2.5.
Also at the very end "lots of people are asking 'how will you bring back diablo'?... well we killed him." I wonder if that means either A) there won't be a Diablo or he will be some form of undead reincarnation. -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "timmen" »Another kid who thinks his opinion is the only one. So tiring
That dude never says anything that is unbiased or constructive and often insults people... your better off doing what I did and ignoring him imo.
I'm pretty certain this whole "new art director" is nothing and has been blown out of proportion. -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "Atrumentis" »Are you sure the art direction is a new job? I swear they have all been there for ages.
Yeah... thats what I was thinking, and from reading the job description... it doesn't sound like someone that makes all the decisions for the games art direction, so much as manages the team, enforcing someone else's "direction"
Quote from "Atrumentis" »Yeah, go to their profile and click 'Add user to your ignore list'.
Cheers, I tried just clicking once and there was "add to buddy"... kind of the opposite of my intention >.< -
Aug 7, 2008Karjalan posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsPosted in: NewsQuote from "shelledfade" »Wow, thats a new job opening. May very well be you are on to something here. However I hope he was fired instead of quitting for the dumbass job hes done so far.
Fuck yes, in your face!
You are as ignorant as you are a selfish arsehole.... one day you'll grow up I guess. Is there a way to ignore users on this forum? like their posts just don't show up to you?
However if they do completely change the direction of the art, the game will probably be delayed by another year.... Not to mention theres the possibility it gets worse. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

QFT...
Basically the same stuff I (and many others) have been trying to point out in all the rediculous claims... You're allowed to disagree... but the people that do, more often than not, do not do so in a constructive manor... they insult people, they state their reasoning on faulty ideals "this is like wow", "you don't need to differentiate every enemy from the background" and they almost never engage in logical/rational arguments....
Then when they are defeated by logic they use the "I'm entitled to my own opinion" (when in fact they usually have't stated an opinion) or "you are just a blizz fan boi" or "I'm allowed to criticize, not everyone is bias towards blizzard..." (when in fact they are the ones biased for whatever they are arguing.
Like they try to take the debatting high ground when in fact they are on the low ground as all of their excuses are a bunch of hypocrasy and they still haven't offered any constructive criticism...

I agree, and ironically... and well fittingly, it's childish to assume Blizzard would do this. I could understand why they would take it off because of this sites flaws... I mean there are people spouting hyperbole bias, and stating opinions as fact, and all sorts of illogical/ignorant nonsense. I barely even glance at some of the new threads now because it's always the same misinformed assumptions or horrible bias, childish behaviour...
I mean these are the same sort of people that think Blizzard would remove this website "because they don't like people who don't like diablo 3"... It has nothing to do with opinion and everything to do with attitude.

I love the Diablo series and I expect Diablo 3 to be "the best thing evar"... And I expect it to be my obsession that "destroys" wow... But I will not be paying to play online. I will most likely just play single player if that was the case... and if that is the case then I can't really see why you'd buy the game because theres ways around copy protection for almost any/every single player type game...
So in a way, it is in their best interests to NOT make it pay to play. Maybe they'll make slightly more money in total... but I think they will lose out on overall sales, and the online community will be much smaller.
Another thing... with such a big freaking cash cow as WoW you don't really need to milk it from diablo as well...

It was like the same crap over and over, a gradual leveling grind resembling that of an MMO... I mean it was exciting/fun early on but as it went on playing it felt like a chore.

also for some reason that link just leads me to this thread....
and there is another thread with all the same info
and make a thread titled "mommy didn't warm my milk and tuck me in last night" and post all your complaints there please so we can have a mature constructive conversation.

Pre 1.10 - Either useless, or average... but cost to much in rune rarity.
Post 1.10 - Everything cost lots of super rare runes that were just random drops and made too many stupidly over powered items...
There was rarely any middle ground, except with Shael + Eth in a sheild and Ort + Sol (for newbies/poor people) in a helm.
It's a good thing imo, and I'm excited at the prospect of the new rune system

I like the sounds of how they are doing something new with runes... Hopefully Gems will be a little more in depth, like the "gem synergy" idea I posted a while back... rather than just "+X stat"
I'm liking the sound of how they're planning on doing fights, he's so right in that D2 was either extremely difficult, or extremely easy. The changes look positive... can't wait for Blizzcon.

Happy with how they are approaching death... he is so right in the fact that death itself and the time wasting involved is a punishment... losing experience was just stupid and the massive gold loss was painful also. But then D2's gold was pretty stupid anyway.
He said "making the mercenaries more interesting" I wonder if that means they will all have powerful special abilities (like act 2 NM mercs) but maybe not use as much gear and become tanks.

But l they are in Germany... he is from a german gaming magazine, obviously German is his main language, and tbh I'm surprised they did the interview in English at all. Expecting the interview to be in full, perfect English under those circumstances would be a bit ignorant.

If you seriously think you know more about how the game works than a bunch of successful professionals who MADE this very game and have seen more of it than anyone will until it is completed.... Then you are severely deluded.
Clearly you are biased towards your artistic views because if you heard anything he said then you would know he is treating the fan base with great respect.... the fact they are actually darkening area's and making them more grittier at all, leaving the corpses around longer etc...
Maybe you could post some constructive arguments, or voice un biased, educated opinions...? but then I suspect that's too much to expect from the average forum poster.

Loving the delay of disappearing corpses, even though this confirms I will need a new PC, loving pretty much everything that was mentioned.
Also I'm loving how everyone arguing about the colour/petition etc. were like "we need to get some of the blizzard north guys on to fix the art" and he basically said the main guy in charge of the overall look from the game is from Blizzard North >.<...
I'm glad they aren't drastically changing it and just excited at what we can expect from new zones/dungeons in the future.
