posted a message on Make Strength, Dex, and Energy more useful in d3.
I love customisability, so I like multiple things you can alter to change how effective you are at what you want to do...

I agree that the stats should be more useful... Last I recall Str/Dex were really useful for physical DPS. Like a Martial arts Tstrike Dtail kick sin...

They probably forgot it's a D2 feature and think it's another ''plleeaase make D3 LaIk wow'' thread.

    Lol I wouldn't be surprised

    Yeah I suspect as much.

I just hope... theres more play on the random modifiers from rares/crafteds and even minor random mods on uniques/sets like in D2... and would love to see a better implication of the Orange items from D2.

I can't recall how much was said about potential Horodric Cube returning, was there much?

Not to repeat myself, but why not use a set of formulas, not recipes, to determine the out come. So you could use any rune, and jewel, any perfect gem, and any item to craft an item?

Yeah I do like this idea. That would be pretty sweet.

I sometimes wish Blizzard would put like a "add your suggestions for XXX" forum up or something, because I wonder if maybe if they saw what some people thought they might be like "oh yeah, thats a good idea we hadn't thought of"

I guess it depends what you were looking for when thinking about them... at end game they were relatively a waste of time, but for a new HC character or ladder character before you have a wealth of uniques, I found them really good to get going.

However I do believe they need to be buffed, so that their base abilities scale and they are useful endgame

posted a message on Most Powerful Items in D3?
I hope rares are as powerful as pre expansion Diablo 2... where most people were kitted in half decent uniques and really good rares.

The problem was that there wasn't exceptional or elite (class items - NM and Hell) uniques until LOD...

I would like to see a nice balance of rare, set and unique end game... and I would love to see the re implementation of crafted (orange) items... to be slightly better than rares... potentially.

It would be cool if it was based off of microtransactions.

Might have to elaborate on that a bit. I'm not sure I follow?

I never really did a lot of them.. tho I never really played a lot of LOD. But the time I did all the best pvpers at least sorcs were looking for great belts and stuff made with crafting.

I like this more than runewords. Runewords are always the same.. with crafting you could get really good items that were mostly random.

Yeah the random factor always added that much more joy from what you got. This is why I liked rares and was disappointed when they were more or less relegated to leveling up items in LOD

Yeah I specifically recall using them in my brief foray in Hardcore. Making the mana leech mask for the Zon.

I felt the whole system could have been better if they updated some new recipes and increased their potential power using rarer runes... around the same time as the added rune words.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a fan of the surge of polls... But this was a topic specifically that I felt hadn't had much coverage and was curious what other people thought.

I loved the crafted items, although most weren't that useful, the best ones I felt were the caster ones, whether mana steal for the zon... or increases max mana for anyone... or increased mana regen and mana per kill... But the best part was that besides these desirable stats you had a pretty decent chance to get some nice random modifiers added to it. They were usually pretty cost effective, made for great starter items until you got a decent supply of uniques and some times better than some.

I felt they were more or less forgotten about after the initial release of the Expansion (LOD), I think they all got nerfed pretty hard and changed from "any rank coloured gem" to "perfect" form of said gem, but rune words kept getting added and changed, and the Crafted items were left in the dark.

I'm not trying to persuade anyone to vote in favour, I don't believe in bias or hyperbole... Even if everyone agrees with me imo it doesn't change anything. I imagine most of the stuff for D3 has already been decided.

If this is all TLDR then I am just curious on what YOUR opinion is. Did you like them? Why/Why not? Would you like to see them return? Would you like to see them Compete with Uniques/Sets end game?

The poll is straight forward but add a comment if you have the time or care.

i really think they should combine the assassin and amazon classes to make a general ranger class.

I would be quite happy with this also.

Martial arts, combo points and finishers needs to be in this game imo... My favourite part of this game was the dynamic hit and run then come back in for a pumped up Dtail to the face...

I would settle for charging up combo strikes with bows... then releasing them with melee attacks...

Or even a monk (sort of paladin/assassin hybrid) using martial arts, discipline (including aura's/passive skills) and holy

They are totally uninformed, then. Blizzard explicity said WD doesn't replace the necro. And, the presence of a Necro in DII did not exclude a druid.

Of course they said that... blizzard never admit nor deny anything that isn't released yet... It just makes logical sense, that at least in the first push of Diablo 3 (only 5 classes) that the witch doctor has replaced the druid and necro....

He's got the curses, summoning, corpse explosiony spell, zombies.... from a necro...
He's got fire spells, limited slightly more powerful pets, from a druid...

They said they wanted to make them as unique as possible.

    1.Brut force melee - Barb
    2.Summoner/dark caster - WD
3.Master of Magic - Elementalist (like the sorc)
4.Ranged/Agile physical - Ranger/rogue (like a mix between Zon and Ssin)
    5....
5 is up to debate, a lot think Paladin, but I can't think of his roll... except for to be kind of like the barb... but holyish...

I would like to think a Monk or Cleric... but I don't know.

I enjoyed runewords, both runewords and crafted items (orange ones int he horodric cube) added a nice element of customizability that kept me interested.

The problem is runeword became ridiculously Over Powered and dominated the end game after the first ladder season... But the originals were either to weak, or required more rare runes than the stats were worth...

I hope they come back and there are more reasonable useful and not over powered ones.
