Things that are almost always worth upping are eth and non eth titants, magefist(gotta up em twice to get to crusader gauntlets), gore riders, jalas, arreats(sometimes it gives you lower def tho), homu, tgods, skins,....theres a few more worth upping but i cant remember the rest off the top of my head

Hoz is another that is worth upgrading. I upgraded a 196% Hoz and the defense actually dropped by 1. Some kid still paid me more hrs for it than I would have gotten otherwise. Some pups are just born dumb I guess.

posted a message on What Does the Standard of Heroes Do?
Oh it certainly does have a purpose. I have spent many hours of play testing a variety of things it was said to do and the only logical answer I have determined.......It causes the one that holds it to ask others who have held it. "What does the standard of heroes do?" It is a fact. I have done it myself, many times I might add. Enjoy your Standard of Heroes! :)

thanks for the support. well weve kind of worked our way out of that item drop thing. two of use already have hotos nigmas shakos spirit monarchs sandstorm treks. so only one of us needs gear. and if we need anything like ammys or anything then i think it would be really easy to just go first come first served and whatever we dont need we give to the others who need whtaever the item is.

Cheesy vaginas! I thought you and your friends were going to actually play the game. Do you all have torches, annis and 9 skill gcs a piece? A bunch of those 20 life 5 res small charms? When you make your character godly before you even can wear the gear you ruin the good fun in the game. No challenge at all in the way you are doing it. Next thing you know you'll be getting grushed and power leveled to wear all those crazy good items you got. Shame on you for sure. To each his own I guess. Have fun looking for no better gear than you have equipped.

You shouldn't have any problems with that 3 sorc team. If I could get a group of friends together that wanted to walk through the game, I'd be all over it.

If I were to pick what characters to have on board, my dream team would look something like this.

Shapeshifter druid: Decent tank ability, can summon meat shields, can provide sages wolverine or oak depending on the situation, rabies for the slow kill or fury to be like a wolf faced zealer. Go werebear if you want to use fireclaws. All around fun character to play as long as you stay away from oblivion knights. lol

MA/Trapper assassin: Excellent melee skills as well as being able to cover some elemental damages, Shadow master, mindblast, death sentry, charge up and finish em off.

Necro summoner: Meat shields and curses galore. Would provide much needed support for the other 2 characters. Lower resist to kill off the pesky highly resistant monsters, decripify to break physical immunes. Bonewalls to contain and mow down even the most badass monsters.

I wouldn't mind playing something along these lines. You could replace the assassin with a bowzon or pally and the shapeshifter for a zealer or barb. Overall the necro is the anchor of this team. The way I see it anyway. I think it would be totally cool to walk the game again without tweaking the characters at all. Play through with nothing but what you and your friends find and craft.

Speaking of which I may try to get some of my old friends together to play through again untwinked when the ladder resets. Not to try and be the top dogs on ladder. Just a fresh start without all the glitch rushers and bots.

posted a message on Why do you like your favorite class?
My favorite class for PvE would have to be the hammerdin. A pain in the ass to aim the hammers sometimes but they mow down everything in the game. The easiest character in my opinion to walk through the game.

For dueling purposes is a toss up between a fireball/es sorc or wind druid. Fireball has a really tight range of damage. The Light sorc has higher damage but a looser range. The wind druid is a sorc eater! Love the cyclone armor. Excellent tank ability and deals decent damage both physical and elemental. Without enigma they are pretty easy targets I will admit. I love the caster characters as you can see.

    posted a message on Normal -> Nightmare -> Hell -> ???
When they first announced D3 I had said that a 4th hrder difficulty would be kick ass. I however think that the 3 difficulties are sufficient.

What I would like to see is, like the cow level, a secret area that can only be accessed after obtaining certain materials and crafting, combining or imbuing them in a certain manner.

The portal that this opens should lead to "The Abyss" or "The Void" Wherein you shall not tread without a very strong character in a party of other very strong characters. Party play would be a must in this place. I am talking minimum level of 95 to even have a chance of staying alive. If you go it alone you go home crying cuz you won't make it past the first demon you cross paths with. Just my opinion bash it, crash it, flame it, do w/e you want. And remember with great risk comes great rewards.

posted a message on How will you play DIII?
I hadn't actually thought about this until now.

I think when I open the box I'll get the game installing and read through what I perceive to be the imporatant parts of the game manual. As soon as I am set to get on b.net I am making a wizard and I will focus on her for quite a while. I haven't done any pre-planning as of yet but I will after they give a release date and announce more charcters and such. I've only ever had 1 character to 99 so I don't see myself trying to be the top dog. I could care less about that. I just want to get really familiar with one character and then move on to the next until I have made and am comfortable with all the characters. After that I will take what I have learned and remake my favorite classes over, try different builds, gear setups, etc. It is my hope that after playing through I won't be able to choose a favorite character and just enjoy the hell out of playing them all over and over and over again. That has never been the case but that is my hope at least.

Yeah I agree 1700 is a bit much if I was able to go through newegg or tigerdirect it would have been cheaper and I would have been able to pick and choose what I wanted or needed. It blows my old comp out of the water and that is what I wanted so yes I am happy with it even though it was a bit overpriced. It only costs me $48/month so I'll throw $100/month at it and get it paid off quick.

Oh god no! I don't think I could hit the purchase button on a $4000 dollar computer. lol. I paid $1676 for it after taxes and shipping. I set the budget of $1700 and we met the mark. I had $4000 available to me but I didn't spend it all. That would just be frivilous. Good to hear it from someone other than my brother-in-law that it should do the trick.

what happened to all you real gamers who build their own PC s?
    JESUS

Not everyone is that tech savvy. I happen to fall into this category. I looked into getting the stuff I needed to build my own pc. By that I mean buy the stuff and have my bro-in-law assemble it for a nominal fee. Newegg declined my credit app though :(

Since I had $4000.00 available to me through Dell I got:

    XPS 625
    AMD Phenomx4 9850 @ 2.5GHz/125W
    8GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 800MHz
    1024MB ATI Radeon 4870
    500GB NCQ SATA 2 Hard drive @ 7200rpm
    Windows Vista 64-bit operating system

I don't know exactly what all that means. I don't really care to to be honest. I'm fairly certain that this new comp should be able to handle just about any game that I want to play though. For the money I paid I certainly hope it does. As for a custom box I would love to have a horadric cube shaped tower. I would be tickled pink to have one of those parked on my desk.

posted a message on What to do until Diablo3?
Let's see...I was stuck on D2 since the first day I played it. I tried a few Xbox games and Playstation games but nothing they offer keeps my interest for very long. I always ended back up on D2 in less than a week.

Recently though a friend of mine turned me on to this free online MMO called Last Chaos. I am not sure if it is still in Beta or not. I just started about 3 weeks ago. They have been adding things about once a week. New dungeons, monsters, weapons, items, features, bumped the leveel max to 140. It is a really interesting game. I haven't logged onto my bnet account since I started playing this game. For me that is surprising. For years nothing could get me away from D2.

I'll admit the first 2 weeks I was a total retard. There are 12 bazillion items that you find through you travels, some of which have no known purpose as of yet, that you have no idea what to do with or what value they have. So in typical newb fashion I asked alot of questions. I still have my retard moments here and there but for the most part I have it down.

The game may or may not be as good as WoW. I refuse to pay the 15 dollars to play that game so I have no comment on that. Last Chaos is free to download and as I like to say "if it's free, it's for me."

It is certainly a breath of fresh air away from grinding the same boss over and over and over again on D2. If any of you want to check it out go to www.lastchaos.aeriagames.com

hmm. I hope I don't get in trouble for linking to a different site.

Note to Mods: If this is unacceptable edit my post and remove the link.

Thats insane...I could never integrate that much math into my play :P

You call it insane. I call it determination.

I want to make a character that plays to the best of it's ability. So what if I have to crunch a few numbers? It will certainly help in the long run.

I was curious what the breakpoints are for a paladin. I searched the forums through 60 some pages and couldn't find what I am looking for.

If any of you have the information could you please post?

For the sake of the matter, post the breakpoints for all characters in case someone searches for that info in the future.

    A hopeful thanks in advance!

EDIT: most ppl use fort on smiters....sorry forgot that part

The only pally's that would wear a Fort are zealers. Chains of Honor or Enigma is really the only choice unless you are non ladder in which case a bugged Tal's works real nice.
