You know what would be cool?
    Random generated combinations of gems.
It's like runewords but every week it changes, enough time for people to share, but not enough for everyone to get the same armor.

Return the Favour: You click the and skill and as soon as you do, tendrils of blood come out of your shield or arm and attack in a "y" shape. It does high damage and knocks back, but can only be used once every time you lose 1/2 of your HP and when you cast it, it leaves you defenceless.

so you want the game to look like artwork?> like we have seen in some anime games?

Notice the skin tones very different too eh?
Wow looked looked too "light", so does this. By light, I mean like when you're colouring with pencil crayons and you don't press hard enough.

Well, this thread originally discusses runewords, so talk about having to be "lucky" (if playing legit of course).
I'm all up for a system which takes into account more skill/knowledge/input from the player regarding "dropping" desirable items then what was the case in D2.

Well, someone said the rares were random and that could allow just some random person to get something godly.

That wasn't the reason why I made this thread though, I wanted ideas generated that could fill the place of runewords.

So, let's say we're all up for customization and skills instead of luck?
Now, what can make that happen?

Yes, but then I prefer 'Holy shit you have Tyrael's Might' over 'Holy shit you have a Full Helm with a random name on it!'

Uniques are rarer than rares and they are all in all a higher tier of quality. Making rares better than Uniques would be the stupidest thing ever.

No, I mean there were a lot of rares that were "overpowered", not just runewords.
Btw, you play WoW, don't you?

All I want is rares like and even better than they were before LOD.

    I just noticed something.
We're all talking about how runewords where so overpowered, but what about rares?
Haven't you ever went, holy cow...at a rare?

Maybe my language interpretation skills are messed up at the moment, but I think that means it's based of a previous series.

Yeah, I get what you mean, you choose a different tab from the inventory menu (from wearable items to horadric cube to scrolls or whatever and there's the block with the scrolls).

I was thinking just another a row above the normal inventory so if you wanna identify something you just drag the scroll onto it.

    Possible scenario:
I got this swastika when my character was in prison. I got this other tatoo on my calf when my barbarian chick was sick with cancer, and this last one, the one that looks like the succubus is giving Diablo a handjob, yeah that one, that one's actually just a battlescar.

Uhuh, this thread's startin' to get pointless eh?

    Lol yeah, use lead-based paints.
I can see it clearly now. The barbarian covered from head to toe in battle tatoos.

Blizzard spokesman: Now you can pump your characters so full of lead they'll be using their dicks for a pencil.

    Excellent.

    I know =)
    Best Idea EVER

Well, they really don't add to the gameplay currently, just putting an idea out there.
I just prefer, more choices, I wanna be special =).
About the tome slot, I think there should just be more of a row of slots just for scrolls that organizes your scrolls for you and keeps them out of your normal inventory.

Off topic-but I would like to see more pesonalized unique items from monster bosses. Like you kill Rakanishu, you get Rakanishu's scimitar (for the first time you kill him in SP campaign that is, after that normal item generation should occur- of course implying that you actually CAN fight boss monsters more than once in the campagn).

Imagine collecting paints/tattoos man, you chose where you put them on your body and they give you stats.

I just thought of an idea about identification they could implement.

Whenever an item drops, it is in a neutral state, anyone can wear it.
It is powerful, but not at its "full potential".

In order for it the reach its "full potential" you use a scroll, which can be bought in town, which are random scrolls which is totally random, or scrolls from monsters or bosses which allow you to try to sway the stats of your "Identified" item or give it special abilities.
Every time you use a scroll though, it'd take a certain amount of your money, depending on the item, the scroll, and the total amount of money you have.

Once you use your scroll however, it will be only usable by classes similar to yours.
This way, if you have an item that could "never" be beneficial to your class, you would be more swayed to trade it. This would cause the wealthier people to try and gamble to make the best items, taking money out of the economy, and also extend the gameplay quite a bit.
