I'm really wondering what the devs are really thinking when they consider MF as a "problem." They shouldn't even be seeing MF as a factor in "doing harm to co op." There's a very simple solution to any MF issues.
Make the monsters do more overall damage.
Why is that? Well, because smart players will see MF guys on their team as an asset to their team, by being the guy that increases the chance of better loot dropping. Smart players will also see them as deadweight in damage dealing potential. So... if they make monsters more dangerous, risk and reward will be maintain. You wouldn't consider having a full team of MF equipped players in a difficult area. You may opt to only bring one or two instead.
MMO players don't see healers or CC classes as a "problem". They see them as utility and as tools that benefit the team, while also holding back a raid's damage. If the raid boss poses a significant threat, a team decides on hoe many healers they should bring to a fight, while making sure the raid can bring the deeps!

Oct 8, 2009asfastasican posted a message on Auras to Return in Diablo III?I'm not going to comment on the whole aura situation, but I am very concerned with a blue response stating how their basic game philosophy won't be compromised when it comes to rescricting classes from wearing specific armor types. They say that they don't want to restrict classes from wearing all kinds of armor, but isn't it true that they are restricting what weapons each class can use? If they consider Diablo to be an item driven game, why would they contradict themselves like that?Posted in: News
In Diablo 2, a necromancer could use an axe if he wanted to. Will this be the case with the Sorceress? Or will she only be able to use orbs, book and other hand-held caster items? -

Immature, ignorant, clueless Blizzard fan-boys amuse me to no end.
I hate to be the guy to defend the fanbois that supposedly are immature, ignorant, and clueless, but have you ever played that POS game? You can't possibly tell me it's any good. Even after the big bug-fixing patch they threw in recently, people still fall through the world and it's only made it slightly more playable for the few that still play it. The game is definately not fit for new players.
The entire Flagship company got pink-slipped, and here you are ragging on so-called "fanbois"? lol. -

There's a McDonalds on Champs Elysees for goodness sakes! lol. You know!? That long road that goes straight down from the Arc!? One of the most famous streets in the world!? Go get a big mac for me, will yah? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

The good thing was that I was able to turn those off 15 seconds later after going into my options. I hope they have this in D3.

I honestly hope he helps out a lot with the project behind the scenes, because I haven't seen exactly what he contributes as a community manager. He's rather incompetant. I've mostly seen him trolling or writing walls of text like the ones above. If he knows what kind of fan base he is dealing with, he would know better and say very little in response to legitmate concerns. He should just reply with a few threads and be brief. He should stick to the point. Any of the diablo fan mods could easily do his job and do it in a more professional manner.
It's ok for celebrities to have a little fun with their twitter, but even they know better. Celebrities don't post on twitter for the sole purpose of getting their rocks off on writing pointless walls of text replying to people that want whatever they're selling. This is his actual job. The other Blizzard CM's do a pretty damn good job in comparison. Karune anyone? Remember his endless Q&A's he supplied to the starcraft 2 fanbase before it was released? He was excellent and professional. This Zarhym guy is a complete joke.
At least Bashiok has been somewhat forcoming and honest about the game not being ready yet and i'm not a big Bashiok fan in the first place. He deserves some credit for being professional.

Another thing about this opener that makes it fall flat with me is that the D2 opener was just superior in every aspect. Sure, this one didn't have to beat D2's, but it should have come close. D2's opener had characters you could embrace and relate to. The midget waiter was comic relief, the wanderer had the nostalgia and badass factor, the drunks and the skeletons, etc etc. Cain was great and all, but all we have is a girl that doesn't talk too much and a meteor. I kinda feel like Diablo 3 should be emphasizing this meteor more as an actual character. Maybe they should have put more emphasis on it since they decided to go with it and Tristram as the setting. All the meteor is is just an object and a basic hole in the ground. I'm not expected the end of act 1 to be that much more epic. The meteor could just end up being the black soulstone and there will be a boss fight.

It's just another way for Blizzard to make money while trying to restrict players from cashing-out. They want to keep your money as opposed to giving you complete freedom with the currency. It's also a clever way to get you to spend on WoW time.
If the Diablo economy gets stale at some point, this feature will end up becoming stale as well. Blizzard is just trying to play catch up, because they failed to make Batle.net 2 into something you would actually pay for. Can't say I blame them, but eh.
One upside is that Blizzard will finally be making some of the money for themselves that they have lost to 3rd party sellers in the past. Gold farmers and item websites will finally stop making the money they never deserved in the first place.

And about the website detailing every skill in length, that's been standard Blizzard practice for well over 10 years. Its something to appreciate and praise, but not get excited about.
Their job is to make the skills fun. If they succeed in making the skills fun, players will only need a simple description. If they want to go digging for information for the skills they love using, they can go research it. New players or casual players honestly won't care how many points of damage bash will do. They will just keep bashing the bad guys and stare at the enemy's red health bar. Other kinds of players will obsess over the numbers. Those types of players will understand the mechanics of the skills, then go look up the level by level numbers and statistics. Everyone leaves satisfied. Make the skills fun! Focusing your design around tooltips will not make a great game!
They should just get to releasing the game asap. Them nitpicking over easy design decisions is silly and it worries me. I hope the devs are on the same page with themselves at this point.

Agreed.
I think most people trust paypal. What you don't trust is the nameless group of jerks that try to hack your paypal account.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I never suggest anyone to link their bank account to their paypal. If you do, you better be combing through every single bill and statement just in case.

I think with time and effort, D3's replayability will improve and it will sell plenty of boxes. I do see Blizzard focusing on whatever titles they can encourage more consumer transactions with though. I don't see much potential for microtransactions in a game like SC2, so if they need to flesh out something other than their mmo's, D3 is a decent candidate. Blizzard isn't the type to churn out a game of every franchise every year like their sister companies, so this is just how it's going to be if things stay the same.

It's hard for me to personally buy into them saying another expansion is in the concept stage. They alluded to having Heart of the Swarm being in a concept stage before SC2's release. After it was released, it was kinda obvious that they didn't put any work into it and blue responses confirmed that. We all kind of knew deep down inside that it would take them at least 18 months and unfortunately maybe even 2 years... or more.
I honestly think Diablo's future will be most affected by the response Blizzard gets out of them releasing details about their secret mmo. They will probably shed light on it by next Blizzcon. My money's on one LoD type expansion and D3 being the end of the franchise.
