I can answer this one :D! Classes and number of them is undecided.

Actually, on the main Diablo3 page, in the faq section, they stated that there will be 5 classes in the game, and so far 2 of the five have been revealed. That's not to say that there won't be more than five later, with expansions. Was the same for D2. Im sure they want 5 really deep and well balanced classes, rather than several watered down classes.

I said that as an example for a class that would focus on wielding a bow.

Yeah, i don't think it will necessarily be an "Amazon", but I'm sure they will have a Rogue/Assassin type character. Thinking they don't want the characters to be so one dimensional anymore. In an interview I saw with Rob Pardo, he said that for the game they are using a formula they liked, where they they broke it into 1/3's. Keeping one third of the old which was good - Improving on the old 1/3, and the other 1/3 is adding new stuff to make it evolve. At least that's what he said about the Barbarian.
I did see some bows drop on the gameplay vid though, so I wouldn't worry all you amazon/rogue fans! They wouldn't drop the core elements of diablo. Just making them more badass im sure.

    graphics is good..but not right,,need more darknness..is to cleany.."happy"...

Awesome suggestion for everyone who thinks the game isn't dark enough. Just log back into WoW and wait till its dark, and go ape-shit on some boars. Dark as it gets man.
Seriously though, the gameplay vid shown is probably the equivalent to the stony field in act1 Diablo2. Nothing dark at all about act1 or 2 in diablo2, except dungeons and caves. We didn't see any of that in the video, so why say the graphics or setting isn't good. Just download the hd gameplay vid and have a smoke. And make it eggs and waffles in the morning, D3 is a keeper!

The game seems more similar to Titans Quest graphically then it does to WoW. It is not very cartoony, it is just simple textures and polygons so the system requirements aren't high. They know the game will sell millions of copy's and low/mid range system requirements help sell the game. It becomes more accessible, look at any of Blizzards other games, accessibility and simplicity in graphics balanced with amazingness is how they do it.

I am liking the style of the graphics very much, a little darker atmosphere might be better, but heck I will settle with what they have now if I have too. And remember it is in alpha I think? So everything is subject to changes and enhancements.

Not sure why people are so worried about the game not being dark enough. Just take a look at the concept art they have on diablo3's main site. http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/media/artwork.xml
I'm not worried about it at all. Just download the hi-res vid in the media section and look at the detail on everything. Insane physics, and cloth movement. They built a new engine! And this could also be towards the beginning of the game. I mean they were helping Cain out of there. Though it could have also just been scripted for the demo shown, not sure. Just wish people would stop saying its too toony or bright. Just look at how much better that was than starting out at a Rouge Encampment, and hitting zombies in groups no bigger than three. That act wasn't dark, except for the caves and tombs. Going to have our asses blown out people. Don't worry. I have a feeling its going to be better than we all think.

    16:25+ ( GMT+2 ) Dev Panel:

Q: Hi, I'd really like to know if the options of male and female
characters will have different attributes for them or just skin?

A: No there won't be any differences, other than visual. It is just an aesthetic choice.

    ~!~

Q: Hi I wanted to know if the system requirements of D3 will be very high? And little hint if you are gonna use DirectX 10 or 9?

A: We haven't set the system requirements yet. I can't tell you if it can run on very low systems, but we want to set the requirements as low as possible, high requirements are not our focus. No, DirectX 10 will not be required.

    ~!~

Q: Hi, First nice job for everything. My question is do you plan on creating some map editor for Diablo 3?

A: We have not nailed any kind of specifics for map development or editor. But I can say that our games like Diablo are not friendly to custom development because of the random levels system, so its not a priority for us. We have not decided anything yet, anyway.

    ~!~

Q: In Diablo 2 there were runewords. Will you be keeping and expanding this system?

A: Hmmmmmmmmmmm... No comment at this time.

    ~!~

    End of the panel.

Im not sure if somebody has addressed this yet, but I did see some runes drop on the gameplay vid, when the witchdoctor and barb took out the guys on the bridge outside. A power rune and something else. Not sure if that means no runewords or not. Maybe magic runes spell stuff?.... getting ahead myself. Im just not seeing them tossing that out, it was too good. Probably just making it a few hundred times cooler, like the rest of the game looks to be!

exactly because it's a free world and everyone can do what they like. and i liike to read usefull stuff here, but it seems a LOT of users lately just post stuff without reading the forum first. so, again, READ IT. maybe you'll find things you don't know about what some are trying to discuss.

i am not forum police, maybe i wish i was.

and btw, try reading from the begining, just to see how many useless posts you can count. i dare you.

nightride - I'm just not sure why you lack the ability to laugh or shake your head at redundant posts...? Are your replys that express peoples thoughts as being dumb, and stating that they are noobs and your going to report them, any less useless?

also, i was joking about the forum police bit. the fact that you acknowledged that you weren't one, though maybe wished you were, is a little scary. but hey thats my opinion. which means little on the internet.

dude, look a few pages back. that skull is from WARCRAFT 3 UNDEAD COVER. dammit people, I'm starting to report every noob

why do you find it necessary to take on the role of forum police and quote peoples posts just stating that they are stupid or noobs, and that your going to report them? Its the INTERNET. People can do what they want man! its not a big deal. A little pacifism will go a long ways, stop exhausting yourself.

didn't say the red was to hide anything. just saying how the slight redness shows through the blue. What do you mean, not even worth to report you? not sure what that means...

Looking closely at the splash screen you can make out some red shading on the ice, at a low opacity. What reason would the artist have to use any kind of red in a pic like that unless he was trying to somewhat show what was behind that ice/crystal shit?! I'm thinking a fat ass red demon... Just what i see though. Sure people see whatever they want to see when they look closely at it long enough. We're all a part of this sick diablo3 epidemic ! YoU CanT HidE ! just embrace it. And besides, why are people trying to crush others hopes? Saying its something for Warcraft, or starcraft and stuff? Diablo has been on the back burner. Warcraft had its next installment, as is starcraft.
It's only fair to the diablo series to have some pickle tickle from blizz. It's due.
