Jan 8, 2009unwritten_law posted a message on Bashiok On Diablo 3 Stat Points.has anyone considered a light/dark system that was rumored to be in the game a few years ago? perhaps they're going to actually implement it into the game since the stats are auto. maybe they'll have something like choosing to be more "dark" or more "light" based on the gamer's decision, adding more customization. that would be interesting!Posted in: News

Dec 6, 2008unwritten_law posted a message on Bashiok Explains All Diablo 3 Classes And Act 1 Are Not Donethanks for clearing things up a bit. for some reason i keep thinking that they're flip-flopping with how far they're in the development because i remember reading somewhere that all they had to do for act 1 was "finish throwing dead bodies everywhere" .. i forgot the source but maybe my mind is just making things up.Posted in: News

Dec 6, 2008unwritten_law posted a message on Bashiok Explains All Diablo 3 Classes And Act 1 Are Not Doneif act 1 itself isn't done, i wonder how much of the rest of the game is completed. i'm guessing there's 4-5 acts like d2 (maybe more?) and if act 1 isn't done yet....Posted in: News
i'm assuming the dungeon from the gameplay video is actually from act 2 (the one with the water falling off the sides of the platform and the greenish lighting) since it looks very similar to caldeum's concepts, assuming caldeum is act 2 anyways. probably all the "basics" of the game are done and now they have to makes some tweaks, balances, add some script and details.... this is gona be a while. -

Jul 16, 2006unwritten_law posted a message on Blizzards Diablo team hiring!i guess its good blizz has some new ppl with fresh ideas. plus the people who made the story line are still there so you know that wont be affected at all. its the storyline combined with the great gameplay that fans love.Posted in: News

but i do understand what you mean, it's kinda like testing someone who wants to become a citizen in america. i guess it might work though i agree with you that it's unclear how it will work. would it be easier to just have leadership like communism from a group of people rather than having to give power to one? besides, we already have the senate and the court that have power to veto each other.

ive mentioned this a few times before, but i wana bring it up again: the light/dark items rumored to be in the game, and how they could work (idk with a with a demon/angel class. it would be weird the have a demon wearing angelic gear and vise versa but it could be like defecting.) but having a human character wearing angelic gear makes them more on heavens side and more demonic gear on hells side affecting what kinds of quests you would get, stats, etc. it would introduce an interesting spin to existing characters to make em less boring for ya.

maybe have a character similar to the paladin like crusader or templar but i feel this was already discussed.

yeah, and more expensive. i don't own a ps3, or any game system for that matter
anywas back on AoM i liked the fact that ES made another mini campaign for download on their sight. dunno if you discovered it, it was called "the golden gift" and it was about the dwarf brothers brok and etri and a golden boar made for odin. it was like 4 missions long but the maps were huge and very nice too look at; plenty of missions too.

very nice. i figured something like tea-staining would be used. it's much more fun/easier to use inks and paints etc then scan the image into photoshop than having to find ways to achieve the same effect in the program. plus it makes me feel closer to my work.
if you really want to go over the top, you could burn the edges a little bit or use dye/coloring for fake blood stains. ahh reminds me of a history project i made once...

Fortunately it looks like they're going to regroup as a new studio, basically ES with a new name. i hope this means more work on great RTS's in the future from the same team. unfortunately my faith in an AoM2 ever being made is kinda shattered.
