hey guys,

since a lot of you have quest ideas in other threads, i decided to make one thread specifically for acts/quest ideas only. put your ideas down here about your quests and the acts they'll go into, and what # quest they'll be (unless theyre side-quests like d1).

i think d3 will have 3 acts, 1 being earth, 2 heaven, and 3 is in hell. the quest will be at the end of act 1 in an asian-type region south of kurast (not visited in d2) called Kurume in the capital of Xiao-wei.

story:
100 years after Tyrael destroyed the WS, its powers have almost completely faded and the denizens of heaven and hell are comming into the world, but with more demons than angels. news that hell is invading heaven has spread all across the world of sanctuary and brave warriors from every civilization have come to either help save humanity and the light from total destruction, or to help hell fulfill their dream of armageddon. with the help of an aid (decard cain? he might be dead finally.)

quest:
you have been told that in the region of Kurume the people have a temple that contains a special device that they use to send the bodies of their dead leaders into the heavens for their afterlife. this is actually [believed to be] a portal to heaven. however, the army of hell has taken over the temple and turned it into an outpost where they will use the portal to send legions to help with the invasion. the leader of the outpost is a powerful demon named Sasebo. you must kill Sasebo and his brigand to free the temple and prevent anymore incursions into heaven. once this is done, you must proceed through the portal into heaven to aid with the defence imediately.

rewards [?]:
- admittance to act 2

-Sesebo drops good items and lets you level up twice (act 2 will be much harder). in seperate rooms in the temple will be books that lets you learn new skills (like in d1) and chests containing good items as well.

i thought since people would like to see some asian-type playable chars, items, npc's, etc. i think it would be cool if blizzard added something kinda like my idea of Kurume. so go ahead and add your act and quest ideas!:cool:

yeah i realized that too late after i posted, but it would work nice for single player. maybe if you had 2 merces (3 max?) so it would be like a party like in BG of FF

you should be able to have a group of meces like in dynasty warriors that specialize in a certain attack (spears, swords, etc.) and be able to choose the max amount you want (i think it was 6 in the game). each one could have a certain skill like an aura or special attack that you can assign to them, and assign them specific orders like "group up" or "kill anything you see" etc.

they should also tell more about the making of the wepon since its creation was a big thing to the angels and they had to stop it from being finished.

d3 shouldnt hav exactly same graphics as d2; hav d2's graphics but modified a lot

amazons should be merces cause theyre were said to be ones from time to time.

merces should have a mini skill tree with 4 skills that you could invest their own points into when they level up.

most likely they'll announce it at blizzcon this year.. unless they wana surprise us and announce it tomorrow! (yeah right)

I posted this in another thread, but I think Shadowfang should be in D3 with better stats, and make it cooler looking!! For a quest you should have to kill the bearer of Shadowfang in hell and make him hard. When you kill him he drops a lot of good items, including the Shadowfang. For a side quest, you could either destroy Shadowfang, or keep it for yourself (that would be good if d3 lets you choose factions.)

Azurewrath should be back in the game as well, with a better graphic because it just looks like a normal crystal sword in d2. I think Tyrael is the one who carries it now since he's the highest-ranking angel (or so it seems), and you should be able to obtain the sword as well.

If anyone has anything to add about the wepons, or how they could be implemented into the game, let me know.:)

This item isn't new, but I'd like to see Shadowfang beefed up ALOT. In D2 it was insanely week and it's supposed to be "the dark demon blade." Also, it would be cool to see angelic/demonic items in the game like the stuff the enemies use, i.e. the undead guys in act 4, the big-ass swords the overlords carry, the angelic armor and firey swords the angels use. Maybe bring back cloaks too, since the angels wear hoods over their heads.

when i first heard about a new patch for d2 i was like "HAHAHA YESS!! FINALLY!" but then i relised that it was supposed to come out in april, and i was hearing about it in may...

3 new quests sounds awesome and will give me a reason to start the game up once again for atleast afew months/weeks. The only thing i wish blizzard would do with their patches is add sometihng for single player cause i dont feel like making a relm char and i like the fact that you can do stuff solo in d2 and make kick-ass chars without worrying if they'll expire (dont like open because it gets raped by hackers but i'll go on it with friends). if there was a way to make something for relm AND single player only (but no open b.net tho its probably impossible cuz single and open are connected) then i would be happy

Advanced d2 graphics would be nice for d3, but if anything i think they'll be more along the lines of Titan Quest since most games comming out now are of the 'next generation' which is insanely good 3d graphics that i could never run on my computer...
