expect more dumbed down, full of micro shits and loot boxes game they will call diablo 4

That is something I warned 10 months ago and insisted the community/developers not to forget D3 - needless to say I got down-voted by the majority of readers. People are so obsessed with the D4 mirage that they forget how quickly it could transform from a "perfect game" to a "p2w nightmare".

Demanding however IS in our capabilities. As a community we can achieve almost anything when we are united and that showed pretty good with the youtube trailers - here on Earth, not the Moon. We can choose some people (like the Red Shirt Hero) to represent the community demands and have a chat with the Diablo team. I am sick of fake CMs who don't deliver our feedback to the developers and the guys in charge. The Diablo community needs people that can be trusted to represent it.

The time to act is now however - every day that passes, in which we are not constructive and don't make our vision of WHAT we want clear is a day of victory for the suit folks.

P.S. We can always find other aRPG games - Torchlight Frontiers invite-only alpha starts in a week from now. That is not the point, however. We all want the best for Diablo and there may not exist a better window for us to change things. It is now or mobile.

So why make games for "west" players when mobile market (asia players) is several times bigger (more money) then west (us/eu).

If they are only interested in ROI (and we know they are since Activision merge) then there would be indeed no need to do that in 5-6 years from now. D4 may be the last of the Diablo series to ever release on PC.

That is why we are left with very few choices as aRPG fans:

    1) Forget Diablo series and look elsewhere

    2) Wait for D4 and hope they don't blunder it

    3) Build further on D3 and demand modding for it

I kind of don't like 1) since there will pass at least 6-7 years for an aRPG with higher quality engine than D3 to appear. 2) is scary to even hope for - even if they hire the PoE developer to join their team, the marketing wing could blunder the whole game with idiotic microtransactions and loot boxes (and we very well know what they are capable of after the Blizzcon 2018 fiasco). So, I say we go with 3), make some petition and demand modding for D3. Once we have this we can easily change the game to the level of PoE (fix drop chances, redo itemization, redo character progression) and build an e-Sport around an improved version of Challenge Rifts to solidify the game presence even without new content (when modders stop with it).

While many think D2 HD will be a revolution, I am on the opposite opinion - D2 time has passed and HD or not it's still the same game with a retarded end-game and awfully designed trading system. PvP was fun 18 years ago, now it is retarded too. So, I am not hyped about D2 HD at all.

Btw, funny photo - Wyatt getting schooled by the Chinese how to be more efficient in the monetization design:

A thing to note is they all have laptops besides the phones ROFL.

Open D3 to modders and PoE time investement could look like fast food to it. Remember - D3 could be much more than PoE, but PoE could never be much more than D3 because it don't have D3's engine and PoE players know it (thread I posted yesterday - Bleu42 check my comment at page 3 for the difference between graphics and engine).

Also, I have serious doubts about D4 atm after what happened at Blizzcon and the investors call from yesteday. I think the BEST that could happen to us right now is if we somehow manage to make them consider modding for D3 - I shared this in the protest thread.

Nevalistis says "we are not done with D3" @ 33min.

The question now is, what we should make out of this after her other statements to the Diablo community?

posted a message on CM Nevalistis enjoyed it

The REKT response came after all people expected a Diablo expansion due to the Necro wallpaper released a few days before Blizzcon and we got a DLC. Sure, those three people she quoted predicted nothing for Diablo this year, but then REKT is not a proper response since we did not get THAT much to say REKT. Her wording was clearly towards the whole community and in that case it totally made sense - we got rekt for not getting that expansion.

About her reply to Windigo: There are no interpretations here - the CM knew what projects are to be announced and her wording can't be viewed by different angels. You are simply clueless if you defend her here. My bump in that thread got 50+ likes for a few minutes, because the other people are not blind like you are, Abob.

Community manager Brandy Camel aka Nevalistis knew what is coming back in August and enjoyed it - she wrote it herself here:

Posted by Windigo: I must say Nevalistis seemed very excited and pleased that she could make such a welcome announcement to the Diablo fans after the many months of total silence.

Nevalistis @ Windigo: You have no idea.

Also, this is the same CM that wrote "REKT" to the Diablo fans after Blizzcon 2016.

I am only stating the facts in this thread - kind of a way to know her better.

It's hard to write anything now when I am more interested in WC3 HD than new Diablo in the Blizzcon year of Diablo. Why they hyped this kind of game in that way is beyond me. This looks worse than D1.

They are opening the ceremony with something Diablo related and this is very possibly not D3 DLC or D2 HD. This means:

    1) Diablo mobile/console-like spin-off - meanwhile working on D4 and not announcing it

    2) D4 - meanwhile working on Diablo World MMO and not announcing it

While D3 DLC and D2 HD are perfectly fine to be announced this year, I don't think they are worthy to open the ceremony since both have a lot less fan base atm than their other franchises. Which then leaves only one very slim possibility for a HUGE D3 expansion pack:

    3) D3 expansion - meanwhile working on D4 and not announcing it

This would mean they did NOT scrap the Necro expansion/story, just delayed it to be made more in-depth and to release it with another hero, but we have other evidence already about it (datamined stuff pointing they just scrapped it), so I really don't expect case 3).

Final case is they are really desperate for viewers/attention and they open with:

    4) D3 DLC and D2 HD - meanwhile working on D4 and not announcing it

Here are the chances I give atm for these cases:

    1) 50%

    2) 25%

    3) 5%

    4) 20%

Which means our D4 hype train went from 100% power to 25%, but is still moving at least.

P.S. "Horadric retreat" sounds very mobile and if it is indeed case 1) the train will finish in the troll town.

From D4 I want to see superb isometric engine allowing high interaction with the enemies and the environment. Besides smashing skulls in all possible directions, I want to cut tunnels in mountains with a soso beam, destroy trees near the battle with my barb swings, bring the dust and sand in the air with my monk, make holes in castles with my amazon arrows and I want all of this to have an EFFECT on how the AI adjusts to the battle. That will be D4 for me. Anything less will be milking of the old cow again.
