There was a blog post on the 3 powers already - it's a good idea, but needs better implementation than their alpha version of it.
Very nice art in this blog!

Legendary items are still the top tier from what I read since they STILL offer more properties than rares. In the true endgame, say after 2k hours, you won't have upgraded rare items on you. Upgraded rares would be just the step to perfect legendaries.
Magic -> Rare -> Upgraded rare/set/legendary -> Legendary with perfect rolls/mythics
If D4 is to come 2021 they will show a playable demo at Blizzcon. But I personally doubt it that is the case since their official statement after the fiasco last year was that they did NOT had any plans for D4 reveal at Blizzcon 2018.
Yep, I expect D4 announcement with cinematic and gameplay video.
If I have to predict a release year, I go with 2022 in case D4 has open world, and 2021 if it is classical aRPG like D2 and D3.
We could easily get a D4 announcement at Blizzcon 2019 and it could easily turn out to be an FPS game.
Don't get hyped up until we see a D4 gameplay on PC!
If D4 is indeed already 4 years in development and has changed drastically during this time, this means even worse news - its developers are same level clowns as those of D3.
Meanwhile the new PoE patch notes word count is over 9000 - literally. Not a joke! Precisely 10304 words. It even goes above the paragon cap in D3!
Server slams in 2018. Feels BETA man!
D2: HD mod in 2019.
D3: Maintenance mode, more of the same we already have, power creep.
D4: Possible announcement in 2020. If it is not a top-down view it is a no buy for me and the logic is it won't be. It will look flashy and colorful in a 3d perspective allowing people to spend tons of cash on it for cosmetic items.
aRPG/MMO in another universe: I'd love to see a post-apocalyptic (Fallout-like) setting done by a top studio like Blizzard. I think such setting gives a lot more freedom to its designers and would kind of change our focus from the typical things present in Diablo.
Summary: Whatever comes next, it will be oriented with the idea to make money. It won't be done just for the sake of experimenting with something new, it will be well calculated money machine. That said I don't expect miracles. For such to happen passion and freedom are needed. And money does not have to be your main goal. It has to be the art and the gamers. Kind of unrealistic things for the big studios. But at least one can enjoy the AAA cinematics from them. They seem to sell the products well.

I believe we will see something next year!
Next year is D2 HD. If they are making D4 or an aRPG in another universe it is 99% not a top-down view like D2/D3 and we might expect the reveal of that not earlier than 2019.
Hi, Chris! Thank you for the giveaway!
#wegottrolled
News about D3 upcoming system changes and new gameplay content in the form of 2nd expansion pack.
Also, thanks to DF for the ticket giveaway and future coverage!

Yeah, counter on the front page would be very nice - hype train rolling!

Switch version releases November 2nd - officially confirmed.
ToBeRuined, I was skeptical about new D3 stuff, but with this release date I have to say they go for the triple hit - D2, D3, D4. The waiting until Blizzcon is going to be painful.

Yep, Diablo opens Blizzcon ceremony like 100% sure.

I dunno, we have to see the Switch release date for D3. If they push it after Blizzcon, D3 probably gets new DLC, but I still don't see them releasing new expansion since I expect D4 to drop in 2020 and from 2019 to 2020 one DLC will be enough.

D2 HD hints are all over the place:
- Job postings
- Classic team launching new WC3/D2 patches
- WC3/D2 serves side updates
- Leaked D2 PTR client (closed now)
- Switch demo with D2 Diablo in it
We are getting D2 HD and D4 AT LEAST this Blizzcon. This is the current minimum after the great news Matthew Cederquist dropped for all of us at Gamescom.
Potential hype killers could be:
- No D3 DLC/expansion/big patch
- D4 too cartoon and/or pay to win
- D4 releases 2022+
Besides the above 3 hype killers there is nothing to worry about. When the Blizzcon schedule appears next month we are going to see Diablo opening the ceremony. Then just set up all the clocks in the house for the right time and enjoy the show!

I was pretty skeptical about D3 DLC too, rating it 25% chance to appear a week ago, but after this news I raise my percent on it. If no Switch release is announced at PAX West I'll raise it even more - to 75%. If they announce a Switch release and date is before Blizzcon - then back to 25% again.
Oh man, people thought Gamescom won't deliver, but it actually turned as best as it could (no console crap and D4 tease from an official Diablo team member).

Btw, an indication about whether something big for D3 is coming (DLC/expansion) could be the release date of the Switch version. Atm we know it's scheduled for Fall 2018, but when we think from a marketing perspective the Blizzcon date is crucial here:
1) If there are no new things for D3 to be announced at Blizzcon, the Switch port will sell better if released before Blizzcon
2) If there is something new for D3, they better release the Switch game after the D3 hype at Blizzcon making even more sales
So, based on the above video where they basically say "D4 is an aRPG and it's great", based on the many hints about D2 HD and now if they don't announce an exact date for Switch at PAX West next week, we may very well have the BEST BLIZZCON ever created for the Diablo fans with Diablo opening the ceremony, a D4 reveal, D2 HD announce and D3 DLC gameplay.
HYPEEEEEE!!!

HYPEEEEE!!!
The guy that answered the question is Matthew Cederquist, an executive producer on the Switch port of Diablo III: Eternal Collection.

No one doubts about D2 HD at this point - this is coming. The big question is D4. Our best indication about it will be the Blizzcon schedule, which usually releases in early October, so roughly a month from now.
If Diablo does NOT open the Blizzcon ceremony we'll get D2 HD and some D3 stuff probably. Chance for D4 announce is very slim.
If Diablo opens Blizzcon ceremony we get D4 reveal 100%. D2 HD will follow it and probably no D3 stuff besides Themes talks.

They can release D3/D2 HD for whatever platform they want since D4 is at least 2 years away from release, no one expects D4 reveal at Blizzcon 2018 followed by its release 3 months later. If they announce D4 this year it comes year and a half later at minimum.

Switch gameplay hinting to D2 HD?
At 5:29~5:37 you can see Diablo from D2 (named "The First") spawn next to Diablo from D3.

And comic coming right after Blizzcon means something new for sure. What's left now is Diablo to be first in the Blizzcon opening ceremony - this would 100% mean a D4 reveal.

"Project Mephisto" confirmed to be Man of Medan from people at Gamescom. This is very good, console game avoided!

3 hours = 3 paintings:
1) D2 HD
2) D3 Druid
3) New age Diablo (D4)
What's the chance? That is too optimistic for sure haha.

Ok, this is 100% D2 HD then since they showed the runes:
They announce Mephisto for HotS and close the ceremony with the D2 HD announce right after that. Good news!
The rune in the bottom has to be a new rune which will be added to the game.
