i can definetely say that he doesntt work for Blizzard, he just had a prediction about what will happen at next Blizzcon

No one makes such a precise prediction including 3 EXACT things - "one of the BlizzCon things is a mobile Diablo game made by Blizzard’s 3rd party team in China". No one. Trust me, I have a poker/statistics background - this is NOT a guess/prediction 99,99999% of the time. This is a leak for sure.

posted a message on Rumor: Diablo 4 Announcement Pulled From Blizzcon 2018

@Bagstone: Well, it's nothing ever certain with such statements, but if we decide to trust them here (and I think we should about that particular statement), I understand the following part this way (see below): "we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements".

We know Blizzcon have ended when they wrote this, so the first part is pretty clear: They announced what was planned to be announced. If they work on X projects and they planned to announce one of them aka DI, this is what they've done.

Now "or have plans for other announcements" could be kind of a tautology. Or they mean "we won't say we work on D4, stop insisting"? Or (what is most probable from the way of the writing) they mean they haven't planned to announce something AFTER Blizzcon.

Btw, something which proves they did not have any plans to announce D4 are the messages with a leaked info to Rhykker's twitter. Kudos to jimmy696 for the find! This also reveals D4 will have an open world, which is cool if you ask me, new Torchlight (also Mythos back in the days) has this too for example and it feels like a QoL when searching for groups and friends.

It is confirmed now (there were no plans to announce D4 at Blizzcon 2018), Abob, the more you defend the CM, the bigger idiot you will look like. She very well knew D4 won't be announced this year and nevertheless made the "You have no idea" comment.

posted a message on Rumor: Diablo 4 Announcement Pulled From Blizzcon 2018

Ok, this rumor is confirmed to be fake:

A representative for Blizzard responded to IGN's request for comment, saying, contrary to today's earlier Kotaku report, that the company "didn't pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements."

Kotaku's Jason Schreier, who broke the original story, has subsequently said that while a Diablo 4 tease featuring Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham does exist, his original report that it was going to drop at this year's BlizzCon may have been off.

posted a message on Rumor: Diablo 4 Announcement Pulled From Blizzcon 2018

"Diablo 4 has changed drastically over the past four years"

This clearly signals their main driving force is the way of monetizing the game and it changed during development.

Btw, maybe this could have played a role.

The regulators stated games providers must "ensure that features within games, such as loot boxes, do not constitute gambling under national laws"

What if they designed the game around loot boxes and this September they gave up this monetizing strategy since when D4 releases it could very well be banned? But why not show a gameplay trailer at least?

posted a message on [Poll] Season 15 Theme

PoE just announced private leagues, which can be modified by the players as they wish.

    League Difficulty Mods

During league creation, the following mods can be added at no additional cost:

Mods that separately increase Monster Damage, Life, Speed, Elemental Damage and Number of Projectiles: These mods often come in several tiers, and make monsters harder in various ways. You can add whichever combination of these various mods you desire to increase the challenge of monsters in the league.

Reduced Player Resistances: Having a blanket resistance penalty not only makes combat harder, but also increases the difficulty of finding a set of perfect gear that meets all your resistance needs.

No Stashes: This one's for the true masochists. Without the ability to store items for later, characters in a No Stashes league need to live off the land with constraints that make completing Path of Exile a lot more challenging. You can parent to an SSF league to disable trade, guaranteeing that your characters are fully self-sufficient.

No Magic or Rare Items Drop: In leagues of this type, you can only find normal and, at their usual drop rate, unique items, so you have to use every currency item you find to add mods to your gear. You'll find yourself actually using Orbs of Transmutation, running out of Essences and treasuring every Chaos Orb for its intended purpose. Trade values of currency items will likely be extremely different in leagues like this, due to opportunity cost.

No Vending: In a No Vending league, you can't buy items from or sell items to NPCs in town. You're still able to complete quest objectives, but can't rely on vendor recipes or NPC shops to gear up.

Famine: In Famine leagues, your life, mana, energy shield and flasks do not refill when you go to town. This can be added alongside other mods to create the ultimate live-off-the-land league.
Maybe we see something like this as Diablo 3 Theme some day? Even only for mobile?

The REKT response came after all people expected a Diablo expansion due to the Necro wallpaper released a few days before Blizzcon and we got a DLC. Sure, those three people she quoted predicted nothing for Diablo this year, but then REKT is not a proper response since we did not get THAT much to say REKT. Her wording was clearly towards the whole community and in that case it totally made sense - we got rekt for not getting that expansion.

About her reply to Windigo: There are no interpretations here - the CM knew what projects are to be announced and her wording can't be viewed by different angels. You are simply clueless if you defend her here. My bump in that thread got 50+ likes for a few minutes, because the other people are not blind like you are, Abob.

Community manager Brandy Camel aka Nevalistis knew what is coming back in August and enjoyed it - she wrote it herself here:

Posted by Windigo: I must say Nevalistis seemed very excited and pleased that she could make such a welcome announcement to the Diablo fans after the many months of total silence.

Nevalistis @ Windigo: You have no idea.

Also, this is the same CM that wrote "REKT" to the Diablo fans after Blizzcon 2016.

I am only stating the facts in this thread - kind of a way to know her better.

Remember guys, a mobile game is the perfect way to test the water for the proper monetisation of D4 - a chineese shared at reddit what could happen. This is the main objective now - in what way to extract the maximum from D4 - this mobile game will GREATLY help them in understanding that.

    Quote from Mob Dylan»

After thousands of hours playing D3, all I can keep thinking about is how amazing it would be if they opened up modding for the community. Millions of Diablo fans creating content for the game they love and sharing it.

That means they cannibalize D4/D5 with such move since if D3 is open to modders it will be played for 20 years more at minimum since its engine is exceptional and the modders know what they are doing, they are not clueless developers. It's better for them to let D3 rip than opening it to modders. This means more money from next Diablo projects, which will be heavily build around microtransactions and loot boxes.

All this is of course a product of the world we are living in atm - greedy society interested only in accumulating wealth and ready to sacrifice its children in order to gain more from its future ones. Each person equals a money value in such society and is replaced by another when needed. People are after short-term rewards missing the big picture and this reflects in every aspect of our lives - games and entertainment is just one minor example. Until the people don't change their viewpoint and start doing things for the idea, not for the reward, we are going to have more of this stinking stuff. And the worse thing is, most of the people can not change their viewpoint - they are like machines programmed for certain operations and that is it. Sad story.

In 2017 spring they said that they had to decide in 2016 summer whether to do expansion or a dlc. They did necro as expansion would've taken too much time. I wonder if that was a small lie reflecting to 2015 job postings.

    Quote from Skelos_bg»

From one side as you said this was probably a lie and they just scrapped the expansion and turned it into a character DLC. From another side if it was NOT a lie and they developed a whole class from scratch this means they've probably done this with the idea to develop more in the future. It so happens that we will know which case is it after Blizzcon 2018.

We do know now. Also, we know the state of their marketing team. And we expanded our list of trolls working there.

    The sum-up:
    - D2 HD probably will come after they are done with WC3 HD, this means 2020.
    - D3 is RIP.
    - D4 may be in an early development stage, this means 2022 release earliest. However, I don't have high hopes for it and I don't expect a top-down view game, so Diablo is in a big lull (not a mistype, word means pause) for me.

What is left for us, as aRPG fans now? You can play PoE if you find it fun. They will support it for a few years more for sure until they build a new engine and make PoE 2 (potential 2027 release). Another option is Torchlight Frontiers that is coming 2019. We have to see around what endgame they develop the game. The engine is worse than D3, but their game mechanics seems fun from what I saw. Wolcen might be fun too, I don't follow it, I might start doing it. Besides these three we can expect some surprises for sure. You never know. Building games is a lot easier nowadays compared to 1998 and yet there still appear tons of crap worse than D1/D2. The bad thing now is, the crap started carrying the name Diablo too.
