Yea, which is annoying to me :P Although you can usually tell how survivable/geared they are after the first or second time you hit them.

Granted, but he will perform them on the owner of the character he kills.

I wish Blizzard would give us some kind of hint as to what they want to do with the endgame.

Yea, I played that class and it was a lot of fun. Just from the standpoint of wanting to show off your loot it works a lot better. I think either a limited shape shift like that, or certain skills that cause you to shape shift, where something like 'Ferocious Strike' gives you the head of a wolf during the animation or something, would work best. Unless they have some way of showing what loot you have while in different forms, because thats something that always bothers me about those kinds of classes, as it makes it hard to tell how powerful the person you're with/up against is, while if you know armor/weapons in the game its usually somewhat easy to identify on other characters.

Well, thats in terms of radiation released, which, don't get me wrong, is obviously an important factor. But there was no explosion involved, and a rating of 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale just means 'Major Accident' which obviously leaves a lot of room as to exactly how serious the event is. Despite the comparison, I doubt the current Japanese crisis will end up being as serious as Chernobyl.

No, it was described only as a way to get near your party when you join a game. After that you just stick with them and use waypoints at the same time (or at least I assume thats what you'd do).

posted a message on Level 60 cap and experience gain rate
Well you can't compare it directly to D2, as levels will require different amounts of expirience. But the reason they chose 60 is that number corresponds to how powerful they want each level to feel. The more levels you have, the less each one will matter, and 60 is what led to the right amound of power per level.

Well to be the eqivalent of monthly fees, if the fee is $15 a month and an expansion is $40, you'd need an expansion every 2 or 3 months. That seems like a bit much. I'd bet the expansions will come out 1.5 years apart or so, like it seems they are planning for SC2.

posted a message on Beta coverage poll
Well for starters there probably won't be any major spoilers like an act boss or anything close to that. They've been extremely tight lipped about lore and I don't think that would change for the beta.

Spoiler tags would just make the article awkward to read and would probably make it so that people who want to read the section would miss it. Things that include lore will be labeled and include a disclaimer, but I don't know what to say about the comments, but using spoiler tags in those wouldn't be as bad. And again, even if you read a spoiler by accident or because of someone else's carelessness, it'll probably be a very minor one.

Without duping the economy won't get as messed up as in D2, so you won't need complete wipes like that. Especially since gold is going to be a huge factor, and its easy to remedy an overabundance of gold with more gold sinks instead of resets. More frequent expansions could also help once a large amount of people have high end gear.

posted a message on Pvp Gear
As Ophion said you can simply favor more survivability in your PvP gear and build, and instead of resilience, which basically modifies certain skills like DoTs, D3 will instead just modify those skills in PvP. Snares and stuns and the like will function differently in the arena (and any other PvP modes implemented). So theres no need for a PvP stat. And it allows them to not reward gear for PvP activities which keeps the emphasis on PvE.

    posted a message on Gems
Well that would make it so that considerably less gems would be needed for a level 14 gem. Or people would just never use gems until the very end of the game, or they have a huge surplus of them. The Jeweler can remove gems from an item at the cost of gold, although they could do a TL like system where you choose between removing a gem and destroying the item, or removing the gem by destroying it.

Yea. I mean I wouldn't put a gem in an item I was looking to change soon to save the gold as I level up, but once you're at max level, or really any time you upgrade a piece of gear, its probably going to be worthwhile to regem/enchant etc.

Collection for trading or what? Because you can unsocket them at will, so theres not much point in leaving sockets empty in order to collect them. The ones in your armor essentially are your collection.

posted a message on Level Cap? Why?
But no matter what they do they have to balance the game around how powerful the player is, which includes the players level. They want the end of the game to be as difficult as it is, while having each level feel as powerful as it is, and the current number is (presumably) what makes it that way. If each level is more powerful than in D2, it will probably matter if you're a level 60 compared to a level 70, and as such it would mess up things like PvP or how easy the content is with characters of that level. Another thing this lower level cap could do is make it so that levels are more related to completing the game's story instead of grinding to get to the maximum level, which IMO is a good thing.

As for your idea about end game dungeons, which sounds quite a bit like Heroic dungeons from WoW, they can still have that kind of end game content that has mechanics that are more challenging combined with tougher monsters and bosses so that you need to meet gear and skill requirements that you might not have when you first hit the maximum level. So you have to go through some endgame dungeons in order to get access to later and later dungeons. In that way, loot and build can separate people of the max level, and theres some way to prove it instead of just how fast you can kill the boss you've done 1000 times. So its not like all level 60s will be just as powerful as one another.
