Oct 12, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Character Stat AssigningI don't see what the big deal is, its not like they are going to make it so a Barbarian's stats automatically increase spellcasting based stats or something like that, it'll increase the stats that you would want to increase anyway.Posted in: News

In game scavenger = fluffy, colorful, happy, kind of like a teddy bear.
sure the in game scavenger doesn't look as cool as the concept, but fluffy? colorful? are you tripping on acid or something? -

Point is, it doesn't say that.
I don't know if its that extreme but yes, I did misread it....don't know what the point of the whole band of heroes and shit is for but ok. -
Sep 20, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo 3 Item Grace Period & Alt KeyRight away when something drops, without you having to do anything, the name shows up for 5 seconds.Posted in: News
Pressing down the alt key will do the same as it did in D2. -
Sep 16, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Able Gamers Interviews Blizzard, Leaves Us PuzzledTheres a lot of typos simply because it was one of those things where it just writes down what it sounds like, so that was probably something along those lines considering the guys didn't even ask about it...Posted in: News
And typo/miscommunication and not making the game are quite different from each other lol... -
Sep 15, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo 3 Visual Status IndicatorPosted in: NewsQuote from "DesmondTiny" »I agree it does take you quit a while. most people who know what there doing and do all the quests it could take em an hour an act. Four hours four acts....Act3 prolly takes an hour and a half act4 probably a half hour. If they know what there doing. I wanted it so it would take them almost a month if they knew what there doing. Make it as hard and as long as Diablo. (if player kills everything on the level before going down a level which is prerty much required if you dont want to get your ass kicked a level one on lvl 2=PWNED belive me i know )
Well in order for them to make it take that kind of time they'd probably eat up all the stuff they have planned for the next like 3 games... -
Sep 15, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo 3 Visual Status IndicatorYea D2 actually takes quite a while if you actually play it instead of having higher lvl people run you through or something of that sort.Posted in: News

Sep 7, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo 3 Outdoors are not Random GeneratedPosted in: NewsQuote from "Act_VI" »Another reason they may not be randomizing the outside environments is that the environments themselves may be very large in size, so you may get lost even if it is static. If they live up to making us explore Sanctuary and fill in the mini-map for each game, then I would definitely get lost the first time around even if it is static.
Exactly, sometimes I would load a save and go out to some place only to have to go throughout the perimeter before finding the next area. Obviously I became more familiar with the various set ups as time went on, but the main point is that the outdoors are simply too big to be randomly generated. The purpose of random generation is to keep the game fresh, not to get you lost if you come across a set up you haven't seen before. -
Sep 7, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIIWell anyways back on topic, I think it would be pretty nice to see Skovos, but I'm just trying to imagine what it would look like if it got completely wrecked by some evil force, as thats probably the only way we would go there....Posted in: News

Sep 6, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIIPosted in: NewsQuote from "Magistrate" »I make it serious because prior to the Diablo III announcement I was flamed incessantly for believing that Diablo III would not be an MMO, and because anytime this is started people are serious about it.
The real reason Blizz would most likely not make it an MMO is that it would threaten WoW directly as opposed to just slightly as an RPG such as Diablo does. I really doubt they'll ever make Diablo an MMO, they've already stated they would rather make expansions as opposed to new games, so that rules a WoW 2 out, at least for now, and I'm pretty sure they know a Diablo MMO would piss a lot of ppl off so my guess is a new MMO would be either something new or Starcraft, which wouldn't be that far out of the question as their current MMO is based on an RTS. It simply wouldn't be worth it, imo, to make something thats already an RPG into simply a different kind of RPG, people would simply either switch over to it who were already playing the RPG or be pissed that they changed it, it wouldn't really attract anyone new. Sorry for that long post not relating to the original topic, but it just annoys me when people go on about this whole ZOMG WORLD OF DIABLO thing. -

Jul 2, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo III DescriptionPosted in: NewsQuote from "sonicpld" »when D3 walks the earth , and we must every month pay for ...
well - i'm prety sure that he shall walk the Earth very alone - like he currently do in D2 ...
but D2 is free , and still unhabitable place.
World of Gothic ( Gothic 4 ) or some new free online RPG will change D3 right at the moment when it b.net become payd.
And this is 100% sure thing.
I know I'm quoting something he said a while ago but honestly....what?! -
Jul 2, 2008Jackzor posted a message on Diablo III DescriptionPosted in: NewsQuote from "cheebalover" »149 days...i hope its near that number..blizzard is not stupid, they are not loosing players from wow..i mean the will loose some, but the effect of the players that arent playing wow and want a single player game (p2p free) diablo will be greater than the loss..its pure marketing, and dont worry they will make a lot of money
The only people they are really losing are people (like me) who were only playing wow because there was no D3 - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Its a financial call. We basically got the best news out of it that we could (other than a May/June beta). Their not going to spend time going in depth on a game's mechanics/graphics/etc.
However, an upcoming beta does mean that in the next few month's we'll get plenty of info about any unannounced systems.

Besides, if you make it so that it can happen out of combat, that could easily be used by someone the moment they get away from a pack of monsters, as opposed to the current setup where you'd have to heal up and get back to fighting, or give up and have to walk back to the last waypoint. So the end result is that leaving town feels more dangerous, and as a result towns also feel safer. Which IMO is better.

I would say my two favorite moments thus far (only have course 4 and 5 left in co-op) are:
The Part Where He Kills You. I laughed my ass off at how many times that was repeated in about ten seconds. 'Oh no, this is the part where he kills us.' 'Hello, this is the part where I kill you.' Across screen: THE PART WHERE HE KILLS YOU.
The puzzle that makes you collide with your partner in co-op. Took me forever but it was great when I got it.
