Is there any chance we can stop with the monotonous posting of "I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE DIABLO&" followed by an image of the splash with diablo's face on it. WE DON'T CARE! The whole freaking idea of putting the eyes there is to get people thinking it could be certain things. When I first looked at this new splash, Lich King came to my mind. Yet after looking at my Disturbed - Indestructible album cover that is right next to me, it looks very similar. http://news.filefront.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/disturbedindestructible.jpganyone? By this I can tell that Blizzard have joined with Disturbed to create a new game based on their music. And the Bard April Fools joke is the proof. See what I did there? THE EYES CAN BE ANYTHING, and most importantly they will be whatever you want to see. It's all nice and interesting seeing people come up with these ideas about what the significance of the numbers is, or what the runes mean; but really, come on, can we just refrain from posting crap about what you think the eyes are?

hehe, i say that too, i have a Disturbed Jersey with the "eyes" bit didn't dare post it here lol

Who says it has to be a character that is well known. It could be Inarius from Sin Wars, which tells the story preceding Diablo.

The sin wars take place before that though, this is a prequel and Richard Knaak is quoted as saying:

Any information on Diablo3? Have you been asked to write a further story? Can we expect anything?

    Knaak
What happens in the Sin War is significant, as I mentioned, toward the future. I know that Blizzard is very eager to make Diablo fans happy.

Well if they do come out with a new Diablo I think it will have to be "The Sin War". That would make sense as far as the numbers theory since Sanctuary, the home of mankind, is threated to be destroyed. Although I don't see anything in the background that would fit this image (maybe someone else can) I thought the similarities of "breaking through" were pretty interesting.
