If a factory sealed copy of Chrono Trigger can go for over $1,200, then I doubt you'd have any problem selling the game to some rich, devoted person for $5,000 considering the raw value of a one of a kind (For the time.) copy of quite possibly one of greatest games of all time.
I agree 100%. It's not so much the colors or the lighting, because D2 had both color and lighting...but it's the shading and texturing of the skins and models. They are too smooth and cartoon like. And the armor...jesus...the armor went from a Gothic style to WoW-like. That's a bad move, IMO.
Have you played ANY other games that use DirectX 9.0, but only use DirectX 8.1 features? Almost ALL games from 2002-2004 that used these features looked like that. It's in the engine, and the choice for system requirements, more than the art style choice.
I'll point out one game they made a HUGE mistake on that has sold millions...
WoW.
The game has no replay value. It is a long arduous grind with no real sense of accomplishment. It's a carebears/casual players paradise. An amusement park where everyone is tall enough to ride all the rides.
The Art Design for WoW is spot on though. It follows WCIII well and hey...it's kid friendly and carebear friendly and that's who WoW is marketed toward.
DIII Art Design does not follow D1 or D2. It follows WCIII....which makes no damn sense.
We live in America and last time I checked I can petition the Lord first before ever knowing if he's real or not.
Your argument that we should wait till another video is released is weak. Why wait, when we don't know how long that could be? Why not start now and stop this art design from continuing in the following acts and before they get too far along to turn around and change it?
It would be a mistake to wait and that's why we haven't.
Now go back to playing WoW and practicing your Carebear stare.
If you play only on one side (Factions: Horde/Alliance) you are getting only about half of the game. Add to that different paths; different characters; getting items; just exploring the world. I would say it has as much, or more replay value than Diablo 2. You, sir, probably have never played WoW. EDIT: I KNOW you haven't played it enough to know what you're talking about.. Or else, you're a hypocrite. I, myself, have only spent casual time playing it (On free private servers.), and I STILL know more than you about the game. Try giving a game a chance before you bash it in your ignorance. That being said; I'm not a WarCraft fanboy. WarCraft 3 was a horrible disappointment compared to StarCraft for me. So, don't start with that B.S., which I know you were going to do.
--- Johnny.. What are we gonna do with you? The change in StarCraft 2 was negligible. The only people that were satisfied with it were the ones that only partially thought that the game was too "Wow-ish". The people who were most vocal about it were never satisfied with the change. I should know; I frequent all major StarCraft 2 forums. It was very negligible, and was even less of a change than the "How It Should Look Like" pictures that plague this site.
I'm so glad they're doing for the bosses what they are. In fact, Diablo was the only boss I really had fun doing. The rest were for getting through the game, or for the loot.
-- Also, by looking at the two monsters, and the other monsters in the game, I have come to the conclusion that "Seige Beast" is more likely a class of beasts. Rather than an individual monster.
I hope they come up with lots of interesting end game, too much grinding in my life time.
I agree. Doing the same dungeons at the later levels (90+) shouldn't be the same dungeon I did at level 60, in my opinion. That gets old especially considering how long it takes to raise those levels.
You guys think there will be alot of grinding going on or possibly easier leveling? I know Diablo is about grinding, but D3 might make it different. I know for me I did alot of cow runs and baal runs, which were a staple to get throught the higher levels. I guess one thing depends on the level cap, hoping 99 would be nice.
I don't want to have to try and experience WOW leveling again, even though they made it easier in hell a couple patches back.
Did you PLAY patch v1.10?

what's gonna be cool about grinding in d3 is that your first time around you're gonna be having so much fun, that grinding actually wont be boring.
True. I had no problem with grinding the first couple times I played the game until about level 80-85, and that was with 1-3 players. Now, I have a hard time staying focused 40-60 with 8 players

you say its more fast paced, but its defiantly not as fast paced as d2, the barbs attacks are wayyy slower.the movement, everything. slower.
That's good. Just because you don't plow through the monsters, and never stop unless your stamina gets low doesn't mean it isn't as fast paced. Fast paced, to me, doesn't just mean how fast I get through a level; to me it means keeping the adrenaline going, and the interest. So, since they seem to want to be adding strategy, and actual skill the game, I think that'll be so much more for the better. And, definately not "slow paced".
I don't think Blizzard will let us down. They've never let me down. In fact, in the months before the real Diablo 2 release, I kept thinking to myself, "How can they make this virtually perfect game better?". It wasn't until I had played Diablo 2 that I realized how imperfect Diablo was, and how much Blizzard really is able to top almost any previous game no matter how big of a feat that is.

WTF? Play Single-player ... Or just work your way up to being the first level 100/99 with the best items Then sell them, and make some munnies.
