As you can see, he is a pretty laid-back guy who doesn't mind if his friends see him naked. It's all harmless fun. But I don't quite understand the sailing naked thing.

    posted a message on Flaws
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
Post any flaws you see in Diablo 2 : LoD here, this is my list:

Here are some of the major flaws (in my opinion) in Diablo II : LoD.
I know many of you will disagree with some thing in this list but please read before arguing.
Well you're right about one thing: many of us will disagree with you. On that note, let's play Oddball.

    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-Act I Quest 4, The Forgotten Tower. You will not receive information about the quest until you read the book in the Stony Field or complete the quest, making it harder for beginners.
This is one of the best ways to receive quests. It's more spontaneous. That's how many quests were acquired in the first Diablo and I loved it.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-Mercenaries in Act II, it only has the type of mercenary and not the aura that it uses.
Not an issue for me anyway. I always use the ice shooting guy in Act III.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-No mercenaries in Act IV, what kind of mercenaries could Blizzard possibly put there? I don't know it's their game.
There's still a wide choice of mercenaries relative to number of Acts. But I would agree that Act IV could've used more in it.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-The quests in Act II are basically all about the Tomb of Tal-Rasha, making the world of Act II less "explorable."
Do you mean that you would only want to go to the locations that contained the shaft and headpiece of the Horadric Staff? As well as the Cube? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this. But I think Act III is way worse in the way of having to collect stuff.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-The Secret Cow Level (Hey it was fun and everything) but come on Diablo is a serious game.
It's not an actual part of the linear game or storyline in any way. Diablo doesn't need to take itself that seriously. And as humorous as the Secret Cow Level is, I actually find all those cows wielding those huge fuck off poleaxes and halbreds to be kind of ominous looking.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-When a monster is running away from you, you must chase it until your weapon hits it, and keep following it if you miss.
True, for the most part. Unless they run into a wall or something.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-Never seeing Tal-Rasha in game besides the cinematics.
By the time you could see Tal-Rasha, it is only Tal-Rasha/Baal. And remember, in Diablo II, evil is always one step ahead of you. It is mildly frustrating. But it also makes sense they would have the upper hand on you. I mean, they're incredibly poweful demons.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
    -Tyrael not phyisically helping you.
While it would be cool and all, Tyrael was forbidden to directly interfere. He did so much already indirectly; against the wishes of the High Heavens. And it's not like if Tyrael was helping you, the game would be easier. They would just make the game harder to compensate. So in the end, it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-The lack of quests in Act IV.
I've wondered myself why there were fewer quests in Act IV. But playing the game all the way through even without those three extra quests is pretty long anyway. Not that I would not have loved having those three extra quests.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-Many of the pointless tunnels and chambers in Act 5.
All acts have those. I thought you wanted to explore more? But that's the downside to exploring; not everything is going to have something special in it. I figure those extra tunnels are there for those who want to gain experience or attempt getting a rare or unique item.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-The comparison of Diablo I and Diablo II in Act I (Catacombs) and IV.
What about it? I'm not sure what you mean? Why don't you tell us how they compare? Did you mean to say they are too similiar? If so, is that a bad thing? It's not like there aren't plenty of other areas that are nothing like the ones in the first Diablo.

    Quote from "AlphaX" »
Fast gameplay (online), being able to completley skip Act III by giving waypoints to Tristram and then Durance of Hate.
This kind of bugs me too. But hey, "Gameplay may change during online play."
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
    -A few hacks out there.
If you play single player, the hacks don't have to affect you. If you play multiplayer, play on closed battle.net, not open.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-The lack of current maintainence on Diablo Servers.
This is possible. But it's not something I've been adversely affected by.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-Not being able to find out Runewords in other ways than fiddling around with runes and items (I would want a scroll to drop now and then with a runeword now and then). There are many forgotten runewords out there.
Relax my kindly chum! I've everything you need here: http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runewords.shtml
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
-How the Arcane Sanctuary seems to be in OuterSpace (or even if it is, why put it there).
Do you know nothing of Diablo lore? Horazon created it where he did partly because he was a lunatic, but also because he felt the location was safe from the demons who sought revenge on him. And it's one of the most interesting locations of the game. Why would you complain about that?
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
    -Lack of starting items.
One of the biggest appeals of Diablo for most fans is to search for items. My biggest complaint toward items that drop though is that uniques, rares, and sets drop too seldomly. And the set items that drop are too repetitive. I know when I'm getting a Sigon's item before I even pick it up to identify it.

    Quote from "AlphaX" »
The map not being on a scroll, it's like a futuristic radar.
Meh. You can make it smaller though. Use your imagination.
    Quote from "AlphaX" »
I have a lack of Diablo Lore so forgive me if some of my pointed out flaws contradict with Diablo lore.
Not contradicts, really. We're happy to set the record straight in Diablo lore. :D

posted a message on Diablo 3 will be announced August 3rd.
    Quote from "Jabal" »
I agree. People have said they wouldn't announce two major projects so close together, and that is true, but only if you look in a past perspective. Blizzard has stated publically that they need to step up production to continue the growth WoW brought in. As the two games are on very different markets, and each game has a mostly loyal fanbase, they would not lose many customers to either, and gain in the long run. Most fall into the category of getting both regardless eventually anyway, or those that are only interested in one franchise. If they wait much longer, the hype for D2 would dwindle more, and it would have been longer since other D2 vets quit, making it less likely they would purchase D3.
This is one of the most intelligent posts I've read so far on the possible announcement. Thank you sir.

posted a message on Hellgate: London, its coming soon. What do you guys think?
I like some degree of sex appeal in video games. But they usually take it too far. And it's like you said, in times of war, why would anyone dress like that? It makes you care for the characters just a little less. I think it can even insult the intelligence of the gamer. It's like, "We better sex this game up real good or no one will play it." If there was a realistic reason for characters to appear that way, I don't mind. But these trailers for this game I've been watching haven't so far justified it for me.

posted a message on What's your position on the Iraq War and Congress's withdrawal plan?
    Quote from "FingolfinGR" »
what i'm doing here is to either see peoples opinions or how they see it (especially interested to listen to people that do live in the US since you really listen to completely different stories than we do about whatever happens in the Middle-East). I do have an opinion in my head ofc and an idea about "morals, ethics, politics, righteousness" etc and i'm dont think its gonna change unless i listen to something really good (i havent seen anything yet, though). But i'm really here to listen too :P

Even within the U.S., we all listen to completely different versions of stories. This may be commonplace is most countries, but we definitely veer toward a preferred news source, one that is more in sync with our political ideologies. But the trick is to expose oneself to all sorts of sources. So you're in a better position to judge for yourself.

The particular news source I like to read is a really good one I think. It's actually the least bias newspaper I've ever read and so it's helped me get kind of cozy in the middle where moderates like to sit. That doesn't mean I won't occasionally shift to the left or right occasionally, I just think it's dangerous to be a hardcore leftist or rightist. People are too dependent on the belief systems they were raised on and refuse to take chances more often and question their beliefs. I used to be more of a liberal in my younger days with this "anything goes" attitude. But now I'm definitely more of a moderate and the only thing I tend to fall back on now is not what is more conservative or more liberal, but simply what is common sense. Sometimes both sides score points when it comes to making sense.

I wish at times people would let their guard down more when it came to their beliefs, and stopped talking for awhile and just started listening. I don't know how it is in Greece, but it's very hard around here to find people willing to listen, they all just want to talk. And their minds are concluded.
