Aug 7, 2008ApplePie posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director ResignsWhy do people keep asking if they are going to change their art direction? The interview explicitly stated they were not changing the art direction. In fact, this has been said a number of times.Posted in: News

Aug 3, 2008ApplePie posted a message on Jay Wilson on Art Direction @ KotakuI actually like the appearance of D3, and suspect that it is the lack of desire for change that is driving many people to complain about the new art. I also want a game that is just like D2 but better... however the only way that will happen is to make changes.Posted in: News
Once we have logged like 2,000,000 hours playing it we will all be numb in the eyes and won't care, so it's more important that the graphics not cause retinal hemorrhaging. -
Jul 20, 2008ApplePie posted a message on Diablo III vs Hellgate: LondonI have Hellgate London, and while it is in the same genre as the Diablo franchise, HGL is really more of a RPG that still allows you to go around and whack stuff. Diablo may be a RPG (of sorts), but whacking stuff comes first and you can allow the story stuff to take a back seat... I feel that is the charm of Diablo.Posted in: News
Hellgate London is a pretty good game, but is more like City of Heroes than anything else. -
Jul 13, 2008ApplePie posted a message on Diablo III Thoughts From Ex-Blizzard EmployeeFloating numbers remind me of all those cheesy 'Diablo wannabe' games... and are completely unnecessary.Posted in: News
If I recall Titan Quest, and Guild wars both use floating numbers; in addition to crap like City of Heroes.
I don't think it's a big complaint, but it would be nice to just have the health meter of the monsters. In fact I saw small health meters in the teaser video. -
Jun 27, 2008ApplePie posted a message on Diablo 3 Forum Template Goes Up On Battle.Net!There is no such thing as a forum glitch that would create links to diablo 3,4,5 etc.... that must be done manually. I suspect they have done that to create a source of 'disinformation' which will cloud their eminent release even further, since they are aware of all the speculation here (and everywhere else).Posted in: News
If I owned Blizzard, I would read what everyone is posting, throw them a bone, then throw them a curveball; just to create a frenzy.
Blizzard is doing this. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Me and my daughter used to play D2 LOD when she was like 9 years old, and as nerdy as it sounds we have been waiting for D3 ever since. Too bad she may be off to college before it will be released.

While I love the idea of dying, and getting my corpse near where I died -- I hate the idea of having to walk all the way back to town whenever the need should arise. Hopefully this ability will remain.

My question is: how will magic find be altered to be more 'fair', and it would be nice if there was a MF meter if it is still so important. Counting MF % on everything is a pain.

The reason I ask here is because trading seems to be crazy these days, unless you are one of the people who never stopped playing.
I don't have great stuff to trade, but will happily offer what I can for a pair. If you are willing to trade me some, please just message me here, or find me in Diablo US East-- account *zwiggybo
Thanks everyone.

I am in dire need of War Traveler boots in order to up my magic find, and have the following to trade for a good pair:
- titans revenge
- shaftstop
- undead crown
- lycanders
- jade talon wrist sword
If anyone is interested in trading, just let me know (I am on US East) by sending me a PM here
**Hopefully I will not get flamed if these trade offerings are not worth War Travelers, but as I have not played in like 4 or more years I have become unfamiliar with the currency of trade.
Thanks.

IP's can easily be spoofed, so banning an IP would be almost impossible. The only way would be to prevent ebay from permitting the sale of Blizzard stuff... like the cult of Scientology did (except they also got a full user list as well).
I'm pretty sure there is no foolproof way, but making it really inconvenient is better than nothing.

There could be one-hand damage, and two-hand damage guns much like swords.
Dunno, it probably could work but would not really be in the diablo spirit with all those medieval weapons and whatnot.

Maybe I have downs syndrome or something, but my kids are like 5000% more skilled at video games than I ever was, and they usually only take like 5 minutes to get familiar with the games controls.

Yes, buying one is a good idea.
My irritation was always that once I completed say 'nightmare' level and was going through 'hell' level. If I wanted to go back and make a normal game (or nightmare game) just to tool around, or try to find magic items; rediscovering the map for normal, and nightmare is a bit redundant.
I'm sure for the 'pro's' who had access to all the secrets and hacks this was no big deal, but for normal people like me who just play the game for fun, it would be a HUGE perk.
