posted a message on This is how the Witch Doctor Should Look like!
To be honest OP, the picture of your witchdoctor looks more like a wasted cocaine addict. Their face is all "ghostly", they're incredibly skinny. Ye, in real life I would be scared of their face, but in the end, they're nothing more than a bag of bones covered with skin. So in the sanctuary, do you think the Demons will even be slightly intimadated? :P.

Not to mention, can you imagine this bag of bones fighting Diablo?

lol, I guess but is that the only reason?

I think that a vote could be held to kick a player.

Then you get unfair kicks as well. There are many scenarios. You could get an admin with 2 friends, kicking others after they killed the mobs standing in the way of the boss. Usually, the other players don't care if one or 2 people are kicked (a lot of people, at least me prefer to stay out of voting for these kinda things if I don't know why theres even a vote kick), but when they realize they're all being kicked, the odds stack against them (in terms of numbers).

And what stops a vote kick spam? Unless this feature is only available to admins (which would cause bias situation), I can't see why others cannot spam the vote kick feature. If there was a long "cool down" after you used the vote kick feature (say 5 minutes), then well.....lets say not everybody cares about voting, and real jerks have 5 good minutes to do whatever the hell they want to the room (5 mins is more than enough).

posted a message on Kick/boot/ban/evict Feature! (More Admin rights for hosts)
I'm not too sure about this feature. At first when I read through the first few posts, it made a lot of sense and seemed like a very good feature. Then later on, I realized that this feature would go against non-admins in so many ways.

Regular players who join the game, will probably be fighting along side the admin. They could be doing something similar to "baal run" in D2. Now I know the individual loot system is implemented, but what stops a jerk admin from using those who joined the game to kill mobs that were in the boss' way, then kicking all these players later so he gets to fight the boss himself.

Sure it wouldn't make any sense for an admin to do that if we have individual loot system, but if the monster was something like Uber Diablo (who garauteeds to drop a unique charm), with very powerful waves of mobs that you must defeat before you could fight him (like the waves in the throne of destruction). I doubt every single player will get the unique item that this boss will drop (it ruins the economy.) So the admin will probably use the players who joined to help him kill the waves of mob, then immediately kick all these players so that he gets the boss to himself.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Art Director Resigns
Meh, I don't really care what the new art director does. As long as the big boys (Metzen and co.) are supervising, then I'm fine if it doesn't hold up another year before the release. The gameplay is the most important to me.

What a shame that jay wont be directing anything other than hello kitty islands expansion pack now. Booya.

Alright Shelledfade. You need to stop.

If you're going to go nuts about this info, go nuts in this thread. Stop jumping into other threads and throwing this unannounced (by mods and media) and yet to be commented info in to other threads. Your :offtopic: level is spewing sky high. Keep the discussion in the thread. If this news is not commented on yet, it could mean anything. This art director could simply be the art director of a specific part of the game, Blizzard (nor any other company) does not need to tell the whole world why they're hiring nor the job specifics. If you meet the requirements, and agree to the brief description of the type of work you'll do. Good, you'll know the rest when you even get the interview for the job.

Stop assuming Jay is fired. His art direction may not be the best (and I agree). But throwing false news everywhere is immature.

posted a message on Anyone care about Cinematics?
Its not a bad idea to have cinematics after each act. As long as they don't drop it during an Act (like some other games) when you completed a certain quest or found a certain item, then I'm fine with it.

BTW, your last line is very... nvm. :P

What part of , LEADING the DIABLO 3 ART TEAM, do you not get? Did they say part of it, Did they say for lightning or not? You have to specifically say what the job is going to be before you can advertise it in the real world honey, sorry.

Well thanks for the hostility. I am no expert in these matters, but I'm sure you are.

I thought companies like to host ads that recruit people, and in these ads they give you a basic requirement of what you need and what your job is. The job details are further explained in the interview, to see that you meet the requirements first.

I'm not gonna go on to the irony of the "real world" that you said. But I don't think business recruitment ads need to be that specific about the job. Otherwise, the whole world would know what your company is up to, even your competitions, and in some cases media.

I never seen a job ad that says something like "Looking for talented young man who can help sculpt out a new statue of liberty". The ones I see are mostly something like "Looking for talented young man who has experience in sculpting:.

Whats the problem here, some guy makes a mod and changes how the game works, so what? Last time I checked you had to also have that mod for it to affect your game. Don't want that mod, don't download it.

Least that's how it works with every game I play, Warcraft II, Warcraft III, Baldur's Gate II, Neverwinter Nights.

Ye, I want to see how Blizzard handles modding, and how they'll implement in on B.Net (if they do plan to do so).

In WoW, there are websites that allow users to download "Blizzard approved addons". Maybe in Diablo 3, there will be websites that allow users to download "Blizzard approved mods".

It is possible that they're changing the art director. But as Blizzard has already stated, they will not change the art direction, so I don't understand why they would change the art director after stating they have decided to keep the art style.

Could there be more than one art director who mentors different groups of artists? Say one art director is in charge of character design whiles another is in charge of lighting and other environmental effects.

Whatever Blizzard is doing, I'm sure its good. But I'm not willing to wait another year for D3 to come out though :(.

posted a message on Leveling with a group// EXPERIENCE.
There are individual drops in all mobs. So it does make sense if the item % decreases based on party size, because you would gain the same % of loot soloing and cooperation.

The game does encourage cooperation though, so I doubt this system will apply. Blizzard is constantly changing D3 for the better.

It was an artwork. Alot of Blizzard artworks are cartoony, even Diablo 2 artwork. So there is no need to worry when the artwork itself is not significant to the game.

Synergy would be nice. Mixing it with runes to create runegem items would be nice too.

However, the gem drop rate should be reduced significantly, whiles the high level rune drop rate should increase.
