I like the new system. Some skills in Diablo II are good to start with but are pointless to max, such as Necromancer's Teeth or Curses.

    what is the new system?

What a bad move to leave Blizzard...

    Castaway = dead

    FF studios = meh

I would of sucked it in and conceded to any organizational changes in Blizzard and build up clout through making Diablo 3 according to Blizzard's standards THEN take a lead role in blizzard.

all i have to say is this is d3 not d2, if you want the game to be exactly like d2 in look and feel go play d2. theres no point in spending millions of dollars to make the exact same game. its called evolution people.

    +1 i agree very good.

The only thing that needs to be enhanced graphic-wise is the detail. The levels seem a bit too clean and smooth.

You must be blind to say such thing.

The animations are superb. When the Barbarian checks through the shelves, they come tumbling down along with the books while papers slowly float to the bottom. The death animations are also cool, especially that fat guy who explodes into a million snakes. Or something.

Towards the middle where the cultists are summoning the boss, when he explodes the force shatters the nearby pillars and debris and blood scatter throughout the area. In fact, that entire sequence was pretty cool. The destructible environments are very smooth and fluid and are simpy cool to watch.

You forgot when the cultists sacrificed the 3 virgins

    No :(

They completely pigeon holed you into being "the fire sorc" or "the lightning sorc"

There were great hybrid builds back in the day, like orb/TS or orb/Hydra or the infamous monster murdering Nova build sorc with fire spells to kill lightning immune mobs.

The way the game is configured now you MUST get all the lightning synergies to be useful, and many many many of the spells that used to be effective for sorceress (Hydra, Nova, Orb, Chain Lightning, etc) are almost completely useless.

Every patch in Diablo 2 has brought it down a peg, the runeword additions in 1.10 were nice even though they should have made droprates a bit higher and tried to combat duping.

Forcing the entire tree to work around a single spell like "Blizzard" or "Lightning" completely detracts from being a cold sorceress.

Cold should not = Blizzard, it should = any combination of spells you wish to mash together into your playstyle.

+ That's right dude. We want to actually use different skills, not be FORCED into one or two forever..

Am I the only one blown away by the animation and weightiness of the game? Everything feels real and heavy. The fighting animations, ragdoll, and weight put into every attack and spell is immense. I've always wanted diablo to feel really real and intense.

A lot of people are complaining about the textures and color, but those will be improved. Let's be happy that they have the game's animations at A+++++.

To bright? Do you expect the sun to shine less? If you don't like the "brightness" there are brightness settings. Did you say they are catering to younger players? Did you see the carnage? It will definitely be a M game. There will be very dark places. Trust me. You people worry too much. The game will be EPIC, stop complaining.

    +1 good one

I'm not sure, but is it confirmed that each piece of armor and weaponry will appear on your char as it appears on the ground and in your inventory? Thanks.

The gameplay looks awesome and has a lot of weight and realistic "feel" to it. Everything smashes and slices HARD. The textures could use a little work but overall the world looks crisp, dark, and amazing.

Diablo 2 was anything but casual friendly.

Go join USeast and "ask for help".

You'll get ten PMs from people trying to steal your account.

Diablo 2 supported people smart enough to build strong characters and game the system, not whine asses who wanted to hold hands through single player for 3 days and then quit.

Do you even like the Diablo story? I can imagine you having fun with a text based RPG.

If you even fucking played either diablo 1 or diablo 2 you'd realize how retarded your statement was.

The hardcore, battlenet veterans are the SOLE reason that diablo 2 still pulls in numbers like it still does, let alone a majority of the potential diablo3 buyer base.

You liked to kill absolutely mindless, un-challenging sprites that walked circles in place until you attacked them?

You are the kind of person that gets hard to mow their lawn.

    Calm down tough guy...

Diablo 3 should cater to all kinds of players, not just PVP. If you didn't like the monsters, then you'd probably be happy with a Diablo 3 fighting game for playstation.

Lots of hardcore players, including myself and lots of friends liked to just get thrown into a crazy situation (the diablo world) and try our best to survive. It was the COOP dream. It was fun and intense to really have to work together to not die.

    Different strokes for differents folks..
