Ok. From reading some of the 29pages of posts a large marjority of the complaints are the textures. There is a very simple reason for this: it is a demo.

SC II original movies didnt look anywhere near what the more recent videos look like.

I played in the WoW Beta, and even those textures improved tenfold for the final, original release of the game. Also, they wont make diablo have WoW textures, WoW is an MMO, therefore enormous, therefore requiring compromises unless you want a 30gb requirement like Conan.

Wait before you start bashing the lack of textures until they release 1, playable demo at an event, 2, public beta, 3, video footage nearer to a release date. Then criticize.

It's blizzard. They are renowned for their game polish. They arent going to disappoint their fans starting with DIII. Give it time and they will show you why all of their games excel.

Im not a blizzard fanboy, i enjoy the company but im not out to have them endorse me. Its just fact, they FINISH games before releasing them. Then they polish them more.

OK. My thoughts on the art direction so far are as follows.

The game is brighter, which isnt a bad thing, its just different. I think they should keep the indoors or underground areas dark dank wet and nasty feeling like in diablo II, but make the towns and outdoor environments much like what they look like in diablo III. As for the character modeling, they seem fine to me. The characters look more colorful and i can somewhat see where they are going when people say "cartoonish". However, i dont think this will be an issue if blizzard keeps to diablo II's theme by making the armor visceral and gritty looking.

All in all, I like the direction they are heading. Its not too colorful, but it adds depth to a game that was lacking color previously. Keep the armor and underground/indoor themes dark and nasty and that combined with the brighter outdoor/city scenarios will make the game look very nice.

Also, if MD reads this post and it actually gets read to blizzard, I just have one quick question, it may have been previously asked, i apologize if this is the case.

Will you be able to show your characters face rather than being hidden behind a helmet the whole game?

    Thanks.

Nice screenshots. I also saw, when they killed the fat boss that was summoned from the female dancers, a purple item class dropped? Could they be introducing a new tier of items, If i remember correctly there arent any purple items in DII. Keep up the good information guys. Hats off to you

Good thing Blizzard didn't either! Over the top stupid exaggeration FTL?

BTW, blizzard north became Flagship studios. Look at the travasty of a game they produced. It's called Hellgate London. Or as it's known by some: Hellcrash Bugdon.

Hellgate London isnt terrible. Over the top stupid exaggeration FTL? They are also releasing Mythos, which isnt a terrible game either. Dont bash a company for becoming their own entity and creating their own ideas and if not capitalizing initally, making constant efforts to patch and make fixes to it.

I still don't think the Ice is melting. If you look at the structure surrounding the opening as you progress through each image, you will see that it is not breaking up dissolving. It actually appears that on Day 1 we started WAY back from the opening of whatever cave/tunnel/chute we are in and each day we move a little closer to the opening where this mysterious figure is peering back at us.

unfortunately your theory is wrong. If we were moving through a cave the surrounding ice would not stay the exact same it would change along with the middle section which is opening/melting/exploding or whatever its doing. The first rune, and the first image that looked like an outline of mans face in the ice is still exactly where it was, and each rune that has appeared after has not shifted its position. If we were moving through a cave all of these would change. Not being a dbag or anything, just pointing out why i dont think your theory is correct.

    http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downloads/wallpapers/images/118/sunwell_1600.jpg
Devil - Many marks around in the picture - just a thought.

I wish for Diablo 3 rather then any WOW/SC news.

thats artwork for the final boss of the most recent 25man dungeon implemented in wow, the Sunwell. it has nothing to do with diablo.

I just wanted to say its ok and Diablo does deserver after all this times to be released, and i will buy it to,but people are forgeting warcraftIII and when SCII editor is released: Boom WCIII dies.I dont love WoW,and i will go to Diablo III after WC III death.

WCIII isnt going to die because SC2 came out, just like SC1 didnt die when WCIII came out.

I mean 2 hours 45 minutes after the image posts for you.

Which is Midnight in blizz time but different everywhere else.

So add 2 hours 45 minutes to when you see the teaser...

i knew that. :P Who knows, maybe between the two of our posts people will stop asking what time to check the site for teaser updates. rofl

    2:45 in Blizzard time, GMT-8.

So for anyone who has followed the teasers.

    No matter where you live.

2 hours and 45 minutes after whenever the teasers show up for you.

    :D

its not 2hours and 45minutes after they are posted. Time is the same all over the world. When it posts at midnight in california, it posts the exact same time as it does at 3am in florida. No one gets to see the images before anyone else unless youre blizzard.
