    Any glaring errors?

I've not pushed very hard yet - just curious as i'm pretty new to monk, but loving it after playing stable master for 450 para on my crusader ;).

    Thanks!

Cool. I'm nervous to roll anything on it for fear of never getting another and deciding I'd prefer to use it on another class...lol. I spent almost 450 para looking for that thing on my crus and got it to drop less than 20 hrs into my monk. Yay RNG. It'd be great if they allowed you to choose the base stat roll on any non-class specific gear (i.e. Str, dex, or int) when it dropped rather than something like this happening.

    ...While playing my Monk :(

Pretty fantastic roll other than the dex:
    3705.4 dps
    1401-1687 fire
    10% dmg
    1031 dex
    1068 vit
    +46% ed
    (I'll socket with gift)

    Current gear: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Rotcus-1773/hero/53306507

Only thing I can do is roll dex into str and try to make up CDR on rings I guess - yeah?

(I use gogok already, have a unity with 8% CDR I can swap in...my SOJ has rolled socket, so no CDR there).

How big an upgrade will I see?

Also, leg gems should be: bane of the trapped, pain enhancer, and then either gogok or miranae (gogok if you're below 56 CDR, miranae if your at or over 56)

Rings are going to be the hardest to find CDR on. You don't want it on your amulet as you sacrifice too much dps (amulet can only get 8cdr - same as rings - and can have 10chc and 100chd, far above rings) to get it. Use Gogok leg gem as stop-gap in CDR to 56 for perma akharats. That will help with wrath management. As tempting as it is, don't sacrifice CDR for chd in paragon. every second akharats is down your doing 35% less dmg. Check out my gear if you'd like (I switch some stuff around depending on if I'm solo or party play, but it'll give you a base understanding of the gear for the build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Rotcus-1773/hero/53306507. More importantly, check out Deadset's stampede video on YouTube. It'll help u a lot.

posted a message on What legendary gems should my Stamsader use?

Definitely trapped and bleed as above says, however I disagree with RasAlgethi24 on BoP. Powerful is awful imho; much better to go with miranae if CDR isn't an issue (Gogok is great if CDR is an issue).

Reasoning: the proc on powerful is unreliable and void if you have a death/run back (and highly reliant on elite pack density). Miranae is consistent. Also Rift Guardian kill times can be rough with stampede and I've found that the single target damage of miranae outweighs the 15% ED on BoP especially when taking into account the proc on BoP falling off during the RG kill.

So: Miranae outperforms BoP in both phases of Grifts.

    Jelloslock:

I'll give that a go and see how it works. I can't get how people get around no healing in their passive and use indestructible, though; i tried it and i was dying way more than with a healing passive (am I missing something here?). 75% up-time on iron skin sounds awesome to compensate with the reduced healing of holy cause over wrathful. TBH, wrathful has remained fantastic healing for me even with reduced wrath cost of stampede...especially now that i have the IAS and CDR legendary gem.

Only downside of this switch may be that I was trying to synergize zealous glare's 20% dmg increase with Sultan's blind effect...anybody know if the "blind" in Zealous glare must come from shield glare or if it can come from other sources - i.e. Sultan's proc?

So far it's working well. I switched to the CDR leg gem, put a hellfire amulet in for long arm of the law and upped my chd on my rings and dropped CDR on them. Had a much easier time today. The blind/knock back on the sultan is very handy. I'm trying to figure out if it synergies with zealous glare. Or if the blind Dmg increase only comes from shield glare blind. Anybody know? Either way, far and above where I was before with a few changes. I was anti the CDR leg gem until leveling it up and ushing it tonight. That plus long arm of the law gave me huge increased AS AND I never has wrath issues.

Right, but (sorry, noob question)...I can't seem to find a formula that makes sense to me to do the math real quick. Know any?

This may be a dumb question, but I have a near perfect Sultan of Binding Sand (4,065.6 dps; 10% dmg; 978str. 6%IAS, 21% chance to blind, 3.1% chance to knock back). How can i determine if this is significantly better than the 30% increased physical dmg from my heartslaughter which only has 3167.3 dps, and 1125 str?

I have a phys SOJ with 50chd, 450+str, 15 phys, and 28/29ED (a pretty great roll actually other than only 15% phys). Problem is without it having CDR, I have to keep RoRG and Leorics AND put CDR on my weapon with the gift. If I get rid of the Compass Rose I'll lose the bonus 50% chd and 698 Vit (I'm already incredibly low in this build on HP [is this norm for stampede?], which makes me nervous - I don't know how people run this without wrathful...no healing otherwise...?)

For the weapon, already re-rolled vit into socket, so it'd be rolled into either CDR or %dmg - and if I use above referenced SOJ, It'd have to be the CDR. If it's not worth using gift on, though, then I guess I'll just farm til I can get a better one or a furnace (*holds breath, turns blue, passes out*).

Ultimately, I guess it really comes down to either getting a better SOJ and/or Unity with CDR OR a weapon worthy of my gift (unless another gift drops).

For wrath, I'm almost never starved until it comes to guardian...and even then it's at about 60% health once my cycle of provoke and law get out of sync. Depending on the boss, though, it's almost always manageable when dodging various mechanics which allows time for regen.

Quite a bit of rambling here...but I've thought a lot about it and can't figure another way out...managing CDR with legendary gems through a major wrench into my previous re-rolls on gear (though I think they're a great addition to game mechanics).

So, I had a pretty good shotgun build with perma AC, then started running into survival issues on 30+ GR's and simply relied on DH's to get me through. Really annoying to say the least. Being in mele range was brutal. So I got a HeartSlaughter with +30 phys (still no Furnace...*sigh*), and figured I'd give stampede a go. I'm loving it. I can actually contribute and my DH buddy much prefers it when we duo. Im not an amazing player by any means, but am getting stuck around GR32-34+ solo. I could run Dual unity, but it's a large dps loss, and I want to be viable in groups as well. Any suggestions? I have a gift I could use on my HeartSlaughter, but not sure if it's worth it as the dps on it is a bit low (no socket). I also have a RoJ with CDR I could take the Holy Dmg off of and re-roll to a socket (452str, 28% ED, 8CDR)...but don't know if it's worth the use of the gift to replace my RoRG and Leorics in order to keep perma AC.

posted a message on Blizzard will lose their most experienced players and support base.
To be fair, though, go back and look at more than just the top player in each class. There are WAY more 40+ DH than there are any other classes. This means that the consistency with which a DH is able to complete a High level grift is much greater and saders, monks, etc. who need to rely on rng to get a good grift that they can complete at that level. So it is not as clear as you make it seem and when you do more than just pull up the info on the top player or two, it's quite obvious. Blizz did say in a blue post (can't find link quick) that they are keeping an eye on DH being higher than other classes though...so I'm glad they have grits to measure class balance now and think we'll see balance patches come out to address them.

Youre right in there always being a flavor of the month class, but in itself that shows that something is unbalanced (The flavor is always 'best' class).

Having said all that: There are 2 year old bugs that still have yet to be addressed in this game (I'm looking at you über Maghda!), and it is lackluster that blizzard is lagging on fixing them. its not easy, but thats what we pay them to do :). I still have fun though and am happy with the game....but blizz should be more proactive on patching bugs.
