But if the belt say that Frenzy gains the effect of all Runes. Now my understanding is that in situations where a skill has the effects has all of the runes, the rune you select dictates what elemental effect the skill has. But, if you don't select a rune, and it still has the effect of all runes, wouldn't it count as all having the elemental effects of all the runes at the same time which would mean 100% COE up time.
If you cube Bastion Revered for 10 Frenzy Stacks, that means you would do 25% increased damage and 150% IAS at full frenzy stacks
If you cube Depth Diggers that's 100% increased damage
Third cube is up for grabs I can see a few options here
Gems:
Simp Strength:= ~50% damage
Bane of the trapped:= ~30% damage
Last gem probably be either the new gem or wreath of Lighting to help with AOE since I think single target wouldn't be a problem
Weapon: I was thinking Corrupted Ashbringer
Ring 1: If you picked no rune for your frenzy, and you used the frenzy belt, wouldn't that mean you would have 100% up time on COE?
Ring 2: Any ring could work here as long as it gave damage
So before everything you would be looking at : 405% damage and 150% IAS which seems not bad.
Because none of the sets really work for you you, you would focus on Black Thorns and Auguilds. You could also fit in frost climbers, an immunity neck and cube for a second immunity. That would give you an additional 25% damage and 25% Damage reduction vs elites.
You build around Frenzy, Revenge, Battle Shout and just fill in the gaps about how you want to play.
Gems: New Gem, Bane of the Powerful, Simplicities Strength
If you build around that you would have like 95% damage to Elites your Frenzy would do 125% damage and perma WOTB on top of everything else and that's just to start. I think you might be able to make it work.
I think with the new HOTA Bracers you could probably make an interesting Frenzy build. I would have to think about it for awhile, but I'm sure it's possible.
I am surprised that no one has mentioned this, but doesn't this seem like an awful lot of babysitting cool downs? I mean you would have to babysit wrath, baby sit both of your shouts, baby sit your generator. Right now i just hold down the WW button and blow things up, this if fun. It seems like adding Focus and Restraint would not be very fun.
I have to say I was disappointed as well, but as a casual player I was able to go from doing 35-38 GR to doing 44 with the changes to IK, so for me, it was a net win.
For the record, I agree the rings are good. I didn't get from the video that he thought they were bad, just that he didn't they were the best for every situation.
Single Player and Multieplayer do have different gearing choices and consideration, no argument there. Metal tends to focus on the single player aspects of this game, which should be understood when viewing his vids. His point is not really a judgement on weather focus and restraint is good, his point is that it's not going to be best for every build. I don't understand why people object to that fact so passionately when it was Blizzards goal to promote ring options in this patch. I think there are also going to be strong cases for the theme rings to fit into strong builds, which no one has even mentioned here yet. TMF, LMF, RoTZ, just to name a few all have the potential to play important parts of successful builds.
I think those are two separate arguments. A well rolled SOJ+a double unity combo, offers similar damage and survivability if you are not using both sides of the damage increase. That's his point. He isn't saying that the set isn't good or bis for some builds. I think there is no question that they will be, he even mentions that for certain monks this will be the case. His point is that they will not be BIS for every build and I agree even if his test wasn't pure.
His conclusion isn't wrong though that it will mainly be useful for specs that use a spender and a generator. For specs that do not, other ring sets will most likely be better.
I had a lot of issues working with my DH at the start and had to try about 5 or 6 builds out before I found one that worked. They are way stronger now.
The gobs are awesome and ancient items are a nice extra grinding layer. Grifting is much better than before, and channel pylons (at least for Dh) are the new conduit pylon. Overall happy with the changes, I haven't messed around with the other classes yet.
Slayer,
Me too actually. I tried various MS builds, Chakaram builds, Bolo Shot builds, and CA builds. Once I got a Kindershot and was able to do an Ice build I just started wrecking things. I think one of the things I like most about the changes is that it's okay to have other skills on the bar now. I can actually use vengence and not have it be a bad thing. It's pretty awesome to have five turrets down, pop pet, pop vengence and just watch Elite groups melt.

So could do something like this:
Cube= Furnace, SOJ, Depth Diggers
Set: IK
Gems: New Gem, Bane of the Powerful, Simplicities Strength
If you build around that you would have like 95% damage to Elites your Frenzy would do 125% damage and perma WOTB on top of everything else and that's just to start. I think you might be able to make it work.

Isn't the whole purpose of diablo to be a mindless point and click?

My impression of the new patch is that the DH is now hands down the most fun class to play. It's now my main.
