posted a message on Is Skill damage fixed on cast?

Hi, just a question about skill damage in general. Let's make an example.

Everyone knows that if you cast Hydra after 5 stacks of arcane dynamo the Hydra will deal 60% additional damage for all its duration.

My question is: let's assume i have 6 pcs of Tal Rasha and obviously 4 different elemental skills.

I cast Mammoth Hydra and after that i cast 4 elemental skills to reach 600% total bonus damage.

Does my Hydra scale with bonus damage? Or i need to re-cast it after i have full bonus?

Is it the same with Slow Time and other skills that deal damage over time?

posted a message on Teleport Calamity + Aether Walker is NOT a spender ?!

Thanks for the quick reply. As you said, teleport deals damage when it lands, but the F/R set literally say : "when you HIT with a resource spending attack..." Also, Frost Nova is a defensive skill too but procs ice meteor from Tal set even if it does no damage.

I don't know if it works as intended, maybe they just didn't list Teleport / Calamity in the list of attacks that proc F/R set, don't you think?

posted a message on Teleport Calamity + Aether Walker is NOT a spender ?!

Hi, was just testing stunport build (Reiko's Build) with Aether Walker, Focus / Restraint and Teleport (Calamity rune).

I noticed that teleport is not considered a resource spender for the purpose of Focus / Restraint buff but works for Meteor proc of Tal Rasha's set and for Tae Guk.

Am i doing something wrong? If not, which is the fastest way to reach Blizzard's team and make them notice this bug?

    Thanks.

    @shadyW

I was just assuming IF the damage was additive rather than multiplicative. It's an option. IF it's additive = Sh1t. IF not = boom baby.

Some people KINDLY replied monk's set had the same description and it's 100% sure multiplicative. That was useful. You prefer doing the lion behind the screen.

Get a life, make love, relax and don't search satisfaction annoying people on forums. That's sad. Really, really sad and i'm not interested in you or in your absolutely useless replies.

Just keep playing and have fun, noone will notice your absence here.

chill man, you are the only one using bad manners.
it's easy to do 3000% weapon damage, you can achieve it within one second and then u can stop hitting the mob until he dies.
There is no guarantee that the bonus will be multiplicative, i really hope so, but the text isn't clear enough.
Anyway the post was made only for clarifying if the bubble damage would stack or not, it's not made for perma-angry people who like to be rude vs others.
You know Diablo 3 isn't free? you pay for it and you can pretend from blizzard to make a good game, since D1 and D2 were.
Blizzard is happy to receive positive or negative feedbacks, they help to make the game better.
All the other stuff, like "What the actual fuck, bro" are just useless words.
Anyway, i'll wait until the patch, thanks to the other replies. bye

the 500% won't be additive, it's a multiplier. so you take whatever is written in the skill tooltip and multiply by 6. That's how it works with wuko and with M6.

So a cast of frozen orb with the debuff would do 2358% weapon damage in an AOE + the 1250% ST damage.
"Piece Arcane Orb, Energy Twister, Magic Missile, and Shock Pulse deal 500% more damage to enemies affected by Slow Time"
It all depends on what this means. English is a weird language, i see this in magic the gathering too...sometimes i have to wait the foreign language version of the card to understand it completely :D
To me, it seems like it stacks additively (with mirrorball, for example) :
    [Mirrorball damage x 3] + 500% base weapon damage.
IF it's a multiplier then the set is just broken. Full crowd control + imba aoe damage, built on a fast cast rate wizard.
    HOPE SO ! XD

You do realize that there is a 6-set bonus right?

And that it is what makes the set more powerful than firebirds?
I don't think 6-pieces bonus makes this set better than firebirds. It just pumps up skills that are actually bad, comparing to firebird's build with apocalypse.
With firebird you get a FREE 3000% weapon damage / sec. No arcane power needed, no mouse clicks etc... ( i use disintegrate to keep my arcane power pool empty )
With the new set you can bring your Arcane Orb to 1200% weapon damage and it's good, but it's a really tiny aoe damage and costs arcane power.
You can bring your Twister to 1335% weapon damage but it's over 6 secs and again, costs arcane power. Either way you will need to stop frequently to recharge your pool and it's damage flying away from your DPS.
This game it's ALL ABOUT DPS and with the new set you just can't keep up with firebird's set.
Wizards are already below average and this set is bringing nothing really new. Just another set that will be laying deep in my stash, waiting to be buffed.
You only see the Negative side of things? 6 set also increased damage of Magic Missile and Shock Pulse. So you're supposed to run with Arcane Orb and MM/Shock Pulse.

And there are items to boost MM/SP. Mirror Ball, for example.

So you are supposed to run a spender and a generator. I think this set is gonna be HUGE for wizards. And with its right intentions, not stack bubble upon bubble over and over again which you wanted, that seemed retarded and more boring than Firebirds.

Also qouting you: This game it's ALL ABOUT DPS and with the new set you just can't keep up with firebird's set. HOWdo you know? The set isnt even out yet, you have no idea how much DPS it does to Firebirds.

I wish I could go through the effort, of saving this thread and you into my memory, and when the set is released and perhaps is beating Firebirds in grifts, come back and say "Well, what do you have to say for yourself?" But. What good would that do. Stop being so god damn negative. Play another class if Firebirds annoys you so much.

    Monks use Sunwoko.
    DH uses Marauder.
    Crusaders use Akkhan.
Barbarians use Reakor (Some probably use EQ set, but I havent seen it alot anymore, thats for sure)
And wizards use god damn Firebird. Its pretty much a MUST for all classes to use above IF they want to be top 10 leaderboard or max their classes. You can use any other set or combination of items, no one is preventing you to do so.
just use maths and check it. This set adds + 500% weapon damage on cast + 1250% damage flat, while firebirds adds free 3000% / sec + variable Weapon damage per cast. That means if you want to keep up with firebird you will need to fill the gap between 3000% and [ flat 1250% + how many 500% bonus damage per cast per second as you can ]. 3000-1250 = 1750. Then 1750/500 = 3.5
That means you will need 3.5 attack per second to keep up the firebird's bonus damage. If i'm wrong, PLEASE correct me, i'll be happy.
I don't know any wiz with such an attack speed. Anyway, i'm trying this build immediately after it's released and maybe i'm even keeping it, just because i'm sick of firebird's and actually, can't find a valid alternative. D2 was way better than D3, you could build your skill tree as you wanted, there were plenty of different wizards with different builds. Same with other classes. D3 is just...well... -check better build then copy and paste- .
All i want is something different but competitive. I always played wiz and i want to continue playing it.
This game (as it is) is just not funny anymore, i hope they will change something soon.
Anyway, if you are right and this set is going to be a must-have, i will be really happy ! :)

oh man...this is so frustrating...wizards are really bad right now and forced to use firebird's set. ALL damn characters use Furnace, all damn Wizards use Firebird's, all damn wizards are the SAME and it's not because the firebird's set gives you a little more bonus than others, but it's because other builds just SUCK !
Why do i have to play wiz when i can play barb with 500 million and more crits? eating GR 53 and above?
The new set just adds more CC that is just USELESS if you do less damage.
    1250% / sec vs 3000% / sec -.-
if damage could stack noone would complain

Hi there, i'm considering a big change in my wiz build since the announcement of the new set, but it all depends on wether or not multiple bubble's damage stacks.
With Gesture of Orpheus, Time Shell rune, some good CD reduction item, passives and wathever, you can easily bring your Slow Time CD down to 4 secs or even better.
The set gives you a bonus with which you can deal 1250% weapon dmg / sec to mobs.
    The questions are:
    - Does this damage stack with multiple cast of Slow Time since the CD is very low and duration is 15 secs?
    - Does the bonus apply to your mirror images' bubbles? (I think yes, with 90% damage reduction as written in the skill)
Considering the new helm, that triggers all your Slow Time runes, this build can be really OP.
If anyone knows if it's working, please comment.
    Thanks.
